Where do games disclose AI use?
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across
games, and follow recorded changes.
This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to
statements published on individual store pages.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam.
Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
- AI was used outside this game to generate images that were used in game development. These images were edited manually in image editor softwares to have failures corrected and being adapted to the game.
- Logo, basic design cards, UI, icons and animations were drawn by hand. No AI were used in general graphic design.
- This game doesn´t use AI during gameplay. This game can´t generate any new images, sounds, fonts, texts, codes or any new content during gameplay or when player isn´t playing. There is no live AI inside this game or any AI that interacts with player inside this game.
We have used generative AI to create some individual assets (graphics) in eHUB cities and to support the writing of the code. The AI characters in the game are also spoken by AI voices.
We did try gen-IA to create early place holders of the characters (environments and meals are 100% human made). We realized that it sucks and unsurprizingly it can't compare to what human artists can do. What you currently see in the game has already been cleaned up, but in order to make sure there is no trace of gen-IA left, we are in the process of remaking all the characters from scratch.
Our game features an AI-driven narrative system utilized during the opening cutscene. This AI is used exclusively to generate a dynamic, cinematic introduction that adapts based on the player's initial choices or in-game context. It does not influence gameplay mechanics or decision-making beyond the cutscene, but it helps create a unique and immersive storytelling experience.
Used to create additional concept art which inspired our artists
Used to help create an initial draft the narrative of the game.
Used to create various code snippets and check the quality of the games code base.
For Lets Get Loot, we have used generative AI for some store materials and also for some of the music within the game. Aside from this, the gameplay experience does not include in-game generated assets, functionality, or any other form of content.
Some visual assets in this game were developed with the assistance of generative AI during production. All such assets were subsequently reviewed and manually edited by the developer before being included in the final game.
AI was used as a supportive tool in creating some textures, sprites, and translations. All materials have been ultimately reviewed and finalized by human creators.
We use AI as a tool to aid in the development of foundational code elements and some marketing assets, but any content generated is edited and revised by real humans. We DO NOT use AI for the creation of in-game art, music or game design ideation. Creatively, this is a human-made project.
This is a handcrafted project developed entirely by a solo creator.
AI tools were used for proofreading and English translation. Some specific images were conceptualized with the assistance of AI and later manually refined. Additionally, seven background music tracks were created using AI-assisted composition tools.
All content is properly licensed and cleared for commercial use.
This game uses generative AI tools in the creation of certain assets:
Some character and environment art assets were generated using developer-trained AI models;
Some ambient background music (non-vocal) was generated using commercially available AI models with proper commercial licenses;
In addition, the Steam store capsule image was also generated with the help of AI tools.
All AI-generated content is static, manually reviewed and edited by the developer prior to release, and does not involve any post-release dynamic generation.
How is AI used in gameplay?
AI may be used to generate the faces of non-existent people in cutscenes and subtitles, adding realism and depth to the game.
Astro Defender features art direction powered by Artificial Intelligence, delivering stunning visuals and unique environments. Every detail is crafted to provide an immersive experience, blending human creativity with cutting-edge technology to bring the universe of Zytherion to life.
Artificial intelligence was used to create concept images of the girls from the game and promotional materials that were then finalized by artists and animators. One of the background locations was also created
This match3 game is built with AI:
- Game logic generated from Cline (VSCode plugin) + Claude AI & Unity Muse
- Graphics from Midjourney processed with Rembg
- Music from Udio
- Sound effects from https://www.optimizerai.xyz/ and https://freesound.org/ (non-AI)
- Font suggestions from a mixture of experts with ChatGPT's and Claude's suggestions winning out so far.
- Special effects from Unity Particle Pack (non-AI)

The game uses very simple artificial intelligence and on some occasions, an algorithm randomly draws hints to help you progress through the game, the soundtrack varies depending on the scenarios. All characters and images were generated by artificial intelligence and are completely fictitious.
Artificial intelligence was used during the game's development to create various parts of the environment and assist with photobashing. AI was applied to generate unique textures, landscapes, and design elements, which helped speed up the development process and add distinctive visual features to the game.
Our game utilizes AI-generated assets specifically for the game's store page to enhance the quality and visual appeal of promotional materials. These assets include:
1. AI-Generated Artwork: Certain visual elements, such as promotional banners, thumbnails, or concept art displayed on the store page, were created using AI tools. These tools were used to generate high-quality, detailed, and engaging visuals to better represent the game's theme and aesthetic.
2. AI-Assisted Text: Some descriptions, taglines, or other written content on the store page were refined or generated with the help of AI language models to ensure clarity, creativity, and professionalism.
Transparency and Ethical Use:
The use of AI-generated assets is limited to non-interactive, promotional materials and does not impact the in-game content or player experience.
All AI-generated assets were reviewed and curated by our development team to ensure they accurately reflect the game's design and do not mislead players.
This survey response outlines our commitment to transparency regarding the use of AI in creating store page assets and ensuring compliance with Steamworks and Valve guidelines.
This game features art and music generated with the assistance of AI tools provided by platforms that ensure fair compensation to their contributing artists. This approach allows us to blend cutting-edge technology with creative expression while respecting and supporting the artistic community.
In this work, AI-generated images are primarily used for character design and as reference sketches for the following characters:
Deeba
Buddy
City Official
Joslinbell’s wheelchair
The procedure is as follows:
Based on detailed world-building settings, prompts are created and input into Dall-E 3 to generate images multiple times.
A single output image—or a combination of several output images—is then used as a reference sketch to create pixel art.
In addition, except for some parts, the map background images are also generated by creating prompts from the world-building settings and inputting them into Dall-E 3. The resulting images are then used as reference sketches to produce pixel art.
By following this method, while we leverage AI-generated images, the final designs are all completed as pixel art by human hands.
