Public Steam disclosure research 25,394 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
In this game, only certain sound effects were generated using artificial intelligence in order to speed up the development process.
The materials used on my store page were AI-assisted, and there will be no copyright issues involved.
Many of the assets and code in the game were created with the help of artificial intelligence. Since we don't have an artist, 95% of the visuals were created by AI.
AI-based tools have been used in editing of some misc. graphics/audio assets.
Some of the sprites have been created with generative AI.
AI was used for coding and incomplete translations No AI-generated content was used for art
The Library Capsule, Library Header, and Library Hero are partially AI generated. The anime styled art is AI with some human edits but the logo and in game art are not AI.
AI Suno Music (Original tracklist by me) AI used as help, to coding some features in Unity
Generative AI tools were employed to assist with localization and the creation of some art assets.
Some graphics (mainly background pictures) were created with help of AI.
AI Disclosure for "Lake Town Stories" We use generative AI to assist in the creation of the following game assets: Artwork: Background environments and character concepts were generated and refined with the assistance of AI tools. Audio: Background music tracks and ambient sounds were created with the assistance of AI audio generation tools. All AI-assisted content has been manually reviewed and integrated by the developer to ensure it aligns with the game's artistic vision.
AI used for text in-game and on the store page. All artwork in the game is fully handmade by me.
Some development tasks, including early draft generation and translation assistance, involved generative AI tools. All narrative content, character writing, and dialogue were written and substantially revised by the developer.
This game contains a mix of human-created and AI-generated pixel art assets. Some assets were initially AI-generated and then heavily modified by a human artist (e.g. the battle map hexes, horse sprites, intro screen). The voice acting was generated with XTTS v2, an open-source text-to-speech model. This allowed a one-person project to have a large cast of voiced characters.
Academy of Samsara utilizes generative AI to achieve its distinct retro anime aesthetic. AI was used in the creation of character portraits and background environments. Trivia narratives were drafted with AI assistance and subsequently reviewed, edited, and verified for accuracy by the developer.
ASCII-RIFT was developed using generative AI tools as part of the creative process. Music tracks were created using Suno and curated by the developer. Programming and system design were developed with AI-assisted tools under the developer’s direction. No live AI-generated content is used during gameplay.
Some art assets (cargo icons, music tracks, marketing images) were created with assistance from AI generation tools and refined by the developer. All game code, design, and gameplay systems are human-created. No AI content is generated at runtime during gameplay.
Musics present in the game were composed with the help of generative AI
The store page capsule image (cover art) was generated using AI.
During the development of the game, generative artificial intelligence tools were partially used. AI was used to help create some graphic elements. All the results were finalized and integrated manually by the developers in accordance with the artistic vision of the project. Generative AI is not used to create user-generated content in real time during gameplay.
AI generative models were used to create localization files to support languages that would otherwise be difficult for a solo developer. Placeholder AI-generated assets have been created for the Steam store splash images, with the intent of commissioning an artist if this gains community support. All in-game assets (sprites, music, sound effects, UI elements, and interactive content) were created by humans and are credited in the game credits. CPU opponents use traditional game AI algorithms, not generative AI models. This is the third iteration of development, that was originally developed in 2019 with HTML + JS, then rebuilt in Unity, and then transferred to LOVE2D written in Lua. It was more-or-less built with a box of scraps in a cave in its first iterations, and modern software since those days have effectively blurred the line where task automation meets unethical AI consumption. It's up to each of us to determine where that line is for ourselves in a rapidly changing digital age. As both a solo game dev and multimedia artist carrying a full-time job in neither of those fields, I feel that it's important to be educating ourselves on where AI can be a useful tool to allow new opportunities and expand capabilities for independent creators that are otherwise untenable, while keeping the human side of game dev at its core, especially in the indie genre.
As a solo developer I did lean on a bit of AI for assisting me with the Title Screen and Steam Capsule Artwork though I did a lot of paint over in Photoshop. A few of the SFX are AI generated.
This game was developed with the assistance of generative AI tools: - Game narratives, dialogue, and descriptive text were written collaboratively with AI assistance and edited by humans - Cover artwork was generated using AI image generation tools based on human-created prompts and edited by humans - Game code and engine systems were developed with AI programming assistance All AI-generated content was reviewed, edited, and curated by human developers to ensure quality and consistency.
The background images and girls pictures are pre-rendered AI art
A limited number of background images and sprites were created with generative AI. Most assets and all gameplay were created manually, the other rest is self-created or from the Unity Asset Store.
Generative AI was used for a few non-gameplay elements: marketing materials excluding screenshots, the game logo and its in-game implementation, a noise map for shaders, and some post processing textures specifically to aid in the creation of the CRTV effect. All other visible assets, music, and sounds were made by hand.
The promotional assets used in the store for this free game (cover image and the screen animation in the trailer) were created with the help of artificial intelligence.
Some background art assets and icons were generated with AI.
The materials on the store page were created with AI assistance.
Generative AI tools were used during development in a supportive role. This includes assistance with grammar checks and text refinement, as well as helping translate original German game content into clear and natural English. In addition, AI assisted image generation was used as a basis for selected HUD elements and inventory item visuals, as well as for a small number of in game visual assets. AI assisted tools were used during the creation of the game’s background music. All AI generated content was reviewed, edited, and integrated manually to ensure consistency with the game’s art style and overall presentation.
This game utilizes generative AI tools to assist in the creation of certain assets. Specifically, some visual elements (promotional art) and background music tracks were created using AI. All generated content has been manually reviewed to fit the game's style and quality standards.
Some visual and marketing materials for Regret To Inform were assisted by generative AI tools. All generated content was reviewed, edited, and integrated by the developer to ensure consistency with the game's artistic direction and quality standards.
The background images and flowers pictures are pre-rendered AI art
The background images and chocolate pictures are pre-rendered AI art.
Pre-generated content: - Translations: Generative AI was used for translation into English, with subsequent human review and editing to ensure quality and consistency. - Art, sound, and design: Generative AI was used in the prototyping phase to create reference sketches. Although the final assets, textures, and effects were created by humans, some elements derived from these prototypes may remain. Some sounds have been edited but retain the AI-generated base. Live-generated content: - None. Airana's dialogues were written entirely by humans, using AI solely as a creative reference to define her personality and tone, without generating text in real time.
Only the game's soundtrack was created with Artificial Intelligence.
Satarichi: Heroes De Caelum is a work based on the original intellectual property of Jose Luis Matias Martinez (Rol, 2012; Novela, 2025), with character designs by Artemio Guevara. Generative AI has been used exclusively as technical assistance for the animation of original art and in the production of soundtrack segments, integrated with compositions under commercial license. All material has been supervised and edited manually.
Some promotional materials may be extended with AI enhancements based on our original content, and we do not intend to infringe any copyrights.
Some images were created using A.I. - My only fear is that I might have created sentient in the process. Pray for me CyberSoul.
Some SFXs and Steam capsules only
This game uses generative AI for selected voice and music elements.
Artwork was created by human artists. AI was used for color adjustments and final rendering only. Character animations were assisted by AI.

We use AI-assisted localization for some translations.
The BGM and SFX in this game were generated using artificial intelligence and then refined by the developer before being used.
AI has been used to translate the game into different languages.
This product includes pre-generated AI-assisted artwork used in certain store assets and/or in-game visual assets. Some of the visual assets in this game (such as background textures and UI icons) were created using generative AI tools. These assets were then manually retouched and adjusted to ensure they fit the game's overall pixel art style.
