In Nora Wanna Rise, we have embraced an innovative approach to the creation of our menu visuals by leveraging generative artificial intelligence to design unique and captivating images. Utilizing DALL-E, a cutting-edge AI technology, we generated original illustrations that enhance the visual experience of the game without directly impacting gameplay.
This targeted use of generative AI allowed us to create visually distinct and memorable menus, adding a layer of originality and innovation to Nora Wanna Rise. This aspect of the game's design highlights our commitment to exploring new technologies to enhance the overall aesthetics and atmosphere, while staying true to an immersive and engaging gameplay experience.
We would like to clarify that the use of AI in Nora Wanna Rise is limited to the creation of menu images. This approach allows us to present players with innovative and aesthetically pleasing visuals, thereby contributing to an improved user experience from the very first screen.
Some promotional artwork for this game was created using AI-assisted tools to support concept and composition.
AI was used only for a portion of the promotional images as a supporting tool.
The design of each character and location is thought out and created manually by me alone, but I also use neural networks in pre-production to help render fine details faster. No Live-Generated AI content is used.
All answers are created by generative ai (large language model inference), the complete chat is filtered by a stopword blocklist. We cannot control the output 100%, so it may be inaccurate or offending as for all generative ai.
AI tools were used to support the development process of X Burger:
Visuals: Some environmental textures and specific parts of the promotional art on the store page were created or edited with the assistance of AI.
Music & Audio: Some musical backgrounds supporting the game's atmosphere were composed or enhanced using AI tools.
Content Generation: The entire script and core game design are 100% hand-crafted by the developer; AI was utilized solely as a tool to visually and audibly support this creative vision.
Generative AI has been used to simulate voices and generate artwork that you find in the game. Additionally AI was used for some text generation. These have been done so purposely alongside the use of generic assets to illustrate overarching points made by the game: namely the use of generative AI in video games as a topic, in keeping with the themes of the game and points it is making.
This game uses a locally-run language model to power live, on-device conversations with an AI character — no data leaves your computer. All visual and audio assets are human-made or commercially licensed. A small number of assets used AI generation as an early drafting tool; each was subsequently revised and finalized by human artists to meet our visual and quality standards.
I use the service to generate artificial intelligence voices for characters. The voice generation process does not occur in real-time, but rather beforehand, allowing me to test and evaluate the content before using it in the game. Additionally, I implement appropriate preventive measures to ensure that the generated content is suitable and compliant with legal requirements and Steam standards
GlitchSPANKR was handcrafted. We used AI audio sparingly and purposefully:
We remixed our own original tracks into ambient variations (e.g. a French-style version of “Friend”).
A handful of songs had lyrics we wrote and used AI to help generate their music, which we refined and often re-recorded ourselves.
One minor joke character uses an AI voice by design.
This game contains works created by use of AI in the creation of dialogue audio for the characters. All AI generated content was created as original works by the developer.

I used AI for these purposes because the uncanny-valley, soulless, style was exactly what I wanted as an art direction. I wanted to depict a future in which the soul of the world has been killed by AI. Making humans create art in the style of AI sounds completely dehumanizing, but you're entitled to your opinion.
If your ingame choices are inconsistent or raise moral questions, you’ll have to justify them in writing. An AI will read your defense and decide whether it counts as a solution. Convince it — because its verdict carries real consequences in the game.
