Public Steam disclosure research 25,879 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.

Generative AI has been used to create marketing content (game poster, capsule image) for this game.
During the development of "SHADOW MAZE Descent into Fear", AI tools were used in the following ways: 1. **Design & planning**: ChatGPT was used as a brainstorming assistant for game design ideas, mechanics, and narrative concepts. 2. **Visual concepts**: One initial store capsule image was generated using an AI image tool (Midjourney/DALL-E) during early prototyping. This image has since been replaced with original, human-created artwork and in-game screenshots. 3. **Code assistance**: ChatGPT provided examples and explanations for basic scripting and debugging. All AI-generated visual content has been removed from the final store page and game build. The current store assets are original or gameplay screenshots. No AI-generated content remains in the publicly available version of the game.
No AI is used in core development. We use AI sparingly for some initial aspects such as toy mock ups - all final models are made by our team. We also use to aid in ideation, some social media graphics, voices, sound track and renders. All core aspects, such as development work, maps, VFX, final toy models and code are done by hand and our development team of 30.
Some art and promotional assets were created with the help of AI tools, and AI assisted the developer during coding. The game’s design, puzzles, mechanics, and final gameplay experience are handcrafted.
We use tools like GitHub Copilot during development. However, all code is verified by our 2 member team, with over 30 years combined experience.
The background images and girls pictures are pre-rendered AI art
This game subtly experiments with AI-assisted tools in parts of the experience and in some of the marketing images.
It has been used as an additional aid in drawing store visuals.

The images used in the game are created using generative AI. The names of the characters are also created using generative AI. The shop text is created using AI. Uses AI to determine minimum system requirements.
Some in‑game objects were initially created using AI generation, and then refined by hand afterwards.
The game utilizes pre-generated AI content during the development process. Specifically, we use Adobe Photoshop's AI features to assist in editing, retouching 2D images, and creating specific visual text elements. All AI-assisted assets are manually reviewed and modified by the development team before implementation.
Some example art. May not be used in final version.
We have used AI to generate sprites and code at specific times.
This game utilizes pre-generated AI assets to enhance the immersive atmosphere and production value. Specifically, AI tools were used to assist in the creation of: Audio: Atmospheric sound effects and character voice-over performances designed to heighten the psychological horror experience. Promotional Material: Static visual elements and artwork used for marketing purposes. All AI-generated content has been manually reviewed, curated, and integrated by the development team to ensure it aligns with the game's narrative and artistic vision.
The AI was generated to create some scripts for the game's programming.
No image in this game is used exactly as produced by an AI without human editing; all images have been modified, reworked, or supplemented manually. The in-game texts and the store page description were partially written with the help of AI tools, then proofread and corrected by a human.
Artificial intelligence tools were used only for the creation of certain UI panels and vehicle part images. AI was not used in gameplay logic, game mechanics, code, narrative, or player-facing decision systems. All AI-generated assets were reviewed and integrated by the development team.
The game uses AI to create some of its graphical assets.

The only use of AI in this game is for generating character voice lines. No gameplay elements, visuals, or other content are AI-generated. The AI voices may be replaced with human voice actors in future updates.
This game contains visual assets and video created using AI-assisted tools. All generated content has been edited and adjusted to fit the tone and design of the game. The content in this game is fictional and has no relation to real individuals or organizations.
We use AI as a creative assistant to refine our English descriptions and ensure they are easy to read and engaging (since we are not native speakers). In addition, some of the game’s illustrations were created with the help of generative AI tools and later refined by human artists.
The game used AI-assisted background generation — all AI drafts were later refined and hand-painted by the artist.
Some promotional images on the Steam store page were created with the assistance of generative AI tools during early visual concept work and were subsequently manually refined. The game itself does not use generative artificial intelligence.

AI has been used for generating images for the game
We have utilized AI-assisted design for the store materials and some 2D background images within the game. However, these are not purely AI-generated; they are based on our original photographs that were enhanced using AI technology, and subsequently refined manually to ensure quality.
Ability icons and some music were created with the assistance of AI.
Capsule images on store page were enhanced and edited using AI tools.
Space Manager uses AI-generated assets only to a limited extent, mainly for store assets.
This game was created using advanced generative AI (neural networks) technology to accelerate and inspire the development process.
AI tools were used to support parts of the development process, such as initial image, music, and code drafts. Every element was then hand-crafted, adjusted, and tested to fit the game’s vision. As a solo developer, this made it possible to create a broader and more polished experience.
We use generative AI only for temporary placeholder images during development. All AI-generated placeholders will be removed and replaced with final human-created artwork before release.
