Public Steam disclosure research 25,394 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
Some store imagery (capsule art) was created with AI image generation tools. Game text translations for non-English/Turkish languages were assisted by AI translation, with manual review
AI was used during development to generate placeholders, graphics & variation of existing developer-made assets.
Spa World was developed with AI-assisted tools used during the development process, including code assistance and content drafting. All game design, creative direction, artwork, and final decisions were made by the developer. The game itself does not use or generate AI content during gameplay.
Some promotional and store assets for My Scout Life including Steam capsule and library images were created or refined using generative AI tools, combined with manual editing and layout. A portion of in-game imagery was also produced or assisted with generative AI, then reviewed and integrated into the game. No generative AI is used for real-time gameplay logic, match simulation, or core scouting/academy systems; it applies to visual assets and marketing art as described above. We will keep this statement updated if our use of AI-assisted content changes.
Some store page assets or art may use AI. Some may be placeholder.
I’m a good programmer, but a terrible artist. So some of the images were created with the help of AI. By the time of release, I’ll try to remove all AI-generated images from the Steam page and from some textures in the game.
All in-game artwork was generated using AI.
This game uses generative artificial intelligence tools during parts of its development process. AI assistance was used in a limited capacity for implementing certain minor systems and supporting the coding workflow, representing a small portion of the overall codebase. In addition, some visual assets and UI elements were created or enhanced using AI-generated imagery, often combined with manual editing and integration to fit the game’s style and design.
As a solo developer with a limited budget, I am currently using Generative AI text-to-speech tools to create the voice-overs, 911 calls, and radio communications in the game. A dispatch simulator requires a massive amount of audio, and using AI allows me to populate the game with necessary placeholder dialogue during active development. My ultimate goal, as the game grows and funding allows, is to replace these AI placeholders with real human voice actors in future updates.
Using AI to generate music or UI/UX
Generative AI was used throughout the development process. It was utilized alongside humans to assist with tasks. Notably: debugging, localization, asset creation, and marketing materials. All AI-generated content was reviewed, edited, and integrated by the developer to ensure quality and consistency.
“AI tools are used to assist in the creation of some visual assets for marketing and presentation purposes. All gameplay content and core systems are developed by the creator.”
Some of the models were made with AI.
in-game illustrations and event card artwork were created with the assistance of AI image generation tools. These are static, pre-rendered assets and do not change during gameplay.
AI is partially used to increase quality of some images in the game
AI generated content was used during development for concept art, promotional graphics, marketing materials, and placeholder assets. The game does not use live AI generated content during gameplay.
AI is being used to do automated testing and code review. AI and Google Translate were used to generate the initial set of translations. There are currently people working on localization - it is just going to take time. If you would like to help with the localization please see: https://weblate.kuhnflix.app/ (I would appreciate your assistance!)
Some parts of the game content were created with the assistance of artificial intelligence. AI tools were used during the writing process of certain cases to support idea generation and narrative structuring. All content was reviewed, edited, and finalized by the developer. Additionally, some visual assets found in the in-game gallery were generated using AI-based tools and curated to match the game's style and atmosphere.
Artificial intelligence tools were used during the development of this game. AI-assisted tools were utilized in certain parts of the coding process and for generating some visual assets. All AI-generated content has been reviewed, modified, and integrated by the developer to ensure consistency and quality.
During development of this game AI was used for code completion, art generation, text descriptions and a psychological/motivational/emotional support as well as release planning. Pretty much at every step of this game dev journey the AI was part of it.
AI is used to generate some Steam store page assets, as well as some in-game icons and typography. All 3D assets and visual effects in the game are handcrafted and contain no AI-generated content.
During development, we may utilize procedural and AI-driven tools to support content creation/ However, the final product will ultimately showcase the creativity and artistic vision of our own development team
The elements of the shop like header & Logo were created with AI (not the screenshots)
This game includes AI-assisted visual content, including character portraits and promotional assets. All content has been significantly modified, reviewed, and curated by the developer to ensure originality and avoid resemblance to any real individuals. The game does not depict or reference real persons.
Store logo images, in game backstory in English and most French translation used AI and Google Translate and revised by the developer.
The Steam store page banners and promotional creatives for the app were created with the assistance of generative AI tools. The in-game assets were either created manually or edited afterwards, but the visual materials used for marketing (such as header images, capsules, and promotional banners) include AI-generated elements.

Building a game of this scale as a solo indie developer is a gigantic quest. To bring this vision to life, I utilized AI to help manage the immense development load. I have used AI to help create placeholder assets as visual guides to get the final look and feel, some initial base assets that have since been modified to be game-ready, and, in some rare cases, game elements that did not require further polishing. I have worked hard to ensure the overall quality is as high as possible, given the limitations with funding, personnel and time. What wasn't made with AI: The core game design, idea and execution. Some of the game code, performance optimizations, final polishing, and most final assets. Additionally, some of the development tools, such as the terrain optimizer/generator, targeting, turret, and explosion systems, have been under development as personal hobby projects for nearly a decade. The game was completely visualized, balanced, play tested, and designed by people (the fun part). What is heavily AI-generated: Audio: The audio concepts and prompts were written by me, generated using AI algorithms, and then manually polished where needed. Real human work was required to orchestrate, mix, time, and fit these audio clips seamlessly into the game. Some textures: In a few rare cases, a generated texture was used "as-is" and did not require any additional post-processing or optimization of any kind (excluding cropping or some basic photoshopping).
The translations of this game into other languages were created using generative AI tools and reviewed by the development team.
Some visual assets such as fictional product packaging, posters, decorative graphics, icons and marketing materials were created with the help of generative AI and then reviewed/edited before being included in the game.
The promotional video visuals, character portrait concepts, and trailer voiceovers for this game were assisted by generative AI tools (such as Midjourney and ElevenLabs). All AI-generated assets have been strictly curated, manually edited, and composited by the developer to ensure they match the game's creative vision.
Some in-game assets, including certain images, graphics, and 3D meshes, were created or assisted using AI tools.

Some UI and interface elements were created with AI assistance and refined by the developer.
AI-generated imagery was used for the game's logo and store page assets. No AI content is generated during gameplay.
Store page AI translation done in the following languages: Chinese (Simplified), Japanese, Korean, Thai, Russian, Spanish, German, Portugese (Brazilian), Turkish, Polish.
An AI was consulted for ideas on how an AI would act if taking over the world. Game logo image was generated using generative artificial intelligence. Music before remixing/producing created with generative AI.
The store page assets (capsule art, screenshots, and banner) were created using generative AI tools.
AI-generated art objects
This game utilizes generative AI tools to assist in the creation of certain content during development, including the following: * Art / Images: Some in-game assets and promotional materials were generated using Nano Banana. All AI-generated visuals were manually edited, integrated, and refined to ensure visual consistency and quality. * Music / Audio: Some background music tracks were generated using Suno and were subsequently manually adjusted, mixed, and refined. * Code / Logic: AI coding assistants were used to help generate portions of programming logic and code. All final code was manually reviewed and modified by the development team. All AI-generated content has been manually reviewed and edited before release and does not contain illegal or inappropriate material. This game does not include live-generated AI content. All AI-assisted assets are pre-generated and finalized during development.
We used AI to help create the images for our game's Steam page.
Some store visuals and in-game product visuals were created with artificial intelligence.
This game uses AI as an aid in the marketing and coding process.
Some pixel art assets were created with the assistance of AI image generation tools and refined by hand.
Fictional character portraits used in the game's default database were hand-drawn by the developer, then colored and aged using a customized AI workflow.
