Where do games disclose AI use?
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across
games, and follow recorded changes.
This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to
statements published on individual store pages.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam.
Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
We use AI to assist our team in development and save working hours, but all AI-generated content, code, or renders only served as inspiration or concept pieces. Everything was reviewed, refined, and finalized by our team before being implemented into the game.
As a very small indie team, we embrace artificial intelligence as a supportive tool in our creative process, while carefully respecting artists and their work. We use AI only as reference material to inspire and inform our designs, never as a replacement for human creativity. This thoughtful approach to AI assistance helps our indie studio deliver quality game design despite limited resources, allowing us to focus our passion where it matters most. Without the large teams or budgets of major studios, this balanced collaboration between human artistry and responsible AI use enables us to refine our distinctive style and solve design challenges efficiently. The result is a lovingly crafted experience that maintains our unique creative vision while honoring the artistic community that inspires us.
AI Usage Disclosure for Flowrate:
AI was used in Flowrate primarily as a support tool. It helped with brainstorming, idea development, and marketing text drafts, all of which were carefully reviewed and edited. On the development side, AI assisted in working through code logic, but all implementations were manually written, tested, and validated. No AI-generated assets or art were used. The creative direction, design, and implementation of Flowrate remain entirely human-led.
Generative AI was used in a limited capacity during development. The final game does not include AI-generated art, audio, dialogue, or live AI-driven content.
We sometimes use AI to kickstart ideas or test directions, but everything in Spell Beat is shaped, reworked, and hand-polished by real humans until it feels juicy. AI experiments mainly help us figure out what NOT to make. The final experience is crafted by actual people who care way too much about way too many details.
Our art team uses AI to help spur along early stage concept art and ideas. From there, our art team develops unique art that is inspired by those concepts.
We've used AI for placeholder assets in early development, all said material has been watermarked to avoid confusion with real art during Playtests, and will be totally removed on Demo and Launch builds.
In terms of Coding, we're using Github Copilot to enhance our IDEs with improved code hints, but never Vibe Coding.
During the development process, I used generative AI as a supportive tool for creating some reference images and for proofreading text. All materials created with AI assistance were carefully edited and refined by me. Most of the visual elements were created without using AI. The game itself does not use real-time AI content generation.
The vast majority of the artwork in the game was created by our team of artists, hired freelancers or purchased on market places. In some cases, AI was used to generate reference images to assist with the creative process, but all final assets were either fully redrawn or significantly refined by human artists to ensure quality and originality.
Some aspects of this game were developed with AI assistance. However, AI-generated content plays a very minor role, and the overall game experience does not rely on AI. Additionally, AI does not generate any content in real-time during gameplay.
I use AI tools in limited parts of the development process, including:
• Assisting with certain steps of creating game assets.
• Supporting debugging workflows.
• Helping with localization and translation.
Hullrot uses AI to assist with background systems such as planning, summarizing game content, and managing progression flow. AI is not used to generate live player-facing content (such as dialogue, art, or assets) during gameplay. Instead, it supports behind-the-scenes balancing and pacing to ensure smoother progression and variety in encounters.
I am currently using AI to remove backgrounds and for any art placeholders. Nothing In game is AI generated and everything done by AI is done as a tool, not for final art or content.

During development, the solo dev might use procedural tools or AI to speed up time-consuming tasks — but the final game is still fully shaped by the developer’s own creativity and decisions.

NO generative AI will be in the FINAL game.
For the current DEMO only, AI (Adobe Firefly) was used to create some art for the demo, but it is being replaced by hand-made art before the full game launch.

In the development of this game, I used AI as a supportive tool to optimize certain workflows, enhance the creative process, and explore new possibilities. While all of the art, coding, and writing were created by me, AI helped streamline repetitive tasks, refine assets, and provide coding insights. My aim was to use AI as an assistant that added value without overshadowing the personal, hands-on approach that defines this game.
We did try gen-IA to create early place holders of the characters (environments and meals are 100% human made). We realized that it sucks and unsurprizingly it can't compare to what human artists can do. What you currently see in the game has already been cleaned up, but in order to make sure there is no trace of gen-IA left, we are in the process of remaking all the characters from scratch.
