Where do games disclose AI use?
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across
games, and follow recorded changes.
This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to
statements published on individual store pages.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam.
Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
I use AI to assist in generating pre-rendered game assets, store page copy, and some marketing and community materials to improve production efficiency and quality. However, all AI-generated content is carefully reviewed and edited by humans to ensure it aligns with the game's style and brand identity.
I'm a one-person developer. That means I do everything; and some of it I'm just bad at. I use AI as a tool to cover the gaps: the tasks I hate, the stuff I'd waste hours on just to replace later. The tools don't make the art. Every idea and decision, everything that made it into this game came from me.
Since I am a solo dev, i used AI to save time and money on some minor things like sounds or icons, but also to give me different perspectives, solutions and helpful information.
We use AI to generate 2D concept art for reference for some icons and 3D models, AI was also used to generate concept art for some of the store page's illustrations such as the header and capsules.
This game uses AI to assist with the creation of certain visual and audio elements, such as icons, sound effects, and music.
AI was utilized to enhance production speed and development efficiency, but it does not generate content in real time during gameplay.
All AI use is limited to pre-release asset creation to improve overall quality.
During the development of this game, we utilized artificial intelligence tools to assist in the creation of some of our visual assets. Every element was then manually reviewed, refined, and integrated by our artists to ensure artistic consistency and high quality.
AI tools were used during development to support creative tasks. The game’s cover image was generated using Grok and later manually edited and masked. Voiceovers were created using ElevenLabs. ChatGPT and Grok were used to help brainstorm narrative and dialogue ideas, but all final writing and design decisions were made by the developer.
No AI systems are present during gameplay, and players do not interact with or influence any generative AI. All AI-generated content was reviewed and curated before being included in the game or its marketing materials.

AI Usage Disclosure
The demo version of this game uses AI-generated placeholders for certain minor assets during development. No AI is used to generate gameplay, story content, or player interactions.
AI Usage Overview
• Core Framework – The game is built on a licensed third-party action-RPG engine.
• Custom Code – A few ability scripts were drafted with the help of an offline AI coding assistant and then manually reviewed and tested by the developer.
• Art Prototypes – Early concept portraits were produced with an offline AI art tool; every final in-game asset will be hand-painted.
The released game never connects to any online AI services while you play, and all shipped content has passed copyright and quality checks.
In the game, AI (DeepSeek) was used to create some natural landscape images, such as mountains, forests, houses, and fantasy spaces. All the above-mentioned content consists of images. Furthermore, all these elements were generated entirely by AI (DeepSeek) based on brief textual descriptions, created from scratch without involving any copyrighted human figures or existing images. Beyond this, no other content in the game was created by AI (DeepSeek).
The game uses generative AI in several areas. The in-game dialogue is AI-generated using text-to-speech based on original scripts I wrote. The soundtrack includes AI-generated music. Additionally, the game logo and parts of the menu use AI-generated images.
Currently using AI for music / sounds, and I may use it for some art while the artist does their move across country. There will be ZERO gen-ai content in the final product. These will be used for place holders / testing purposes ONLY.
The following art assets are generated by AI:
- In store page capsule images
- Character portrait images
- Game level backgrounds and card backgrounds images
Use of AI in This Game:
This game uses AI-generated content to a limited extent. Some in-game images were created using AI tools, primarily due to budget constraints as we are an independent team without full-time graphic designers. Additionally, AI was used to assist in writing certain parts of the code to speed up development.
Some visual assets were created using generative AI tools as part of the concept art process, then refined and finalized by human artists. No AI content is generated during gameplay.
- 1 of the 8 optional title themes is alleged to have used AI - even though the band insists otherwise, offered up the track a year before this project existed, and refused any payment for doing so. You can interrogate them on the matter here:

Had I used AI myself, I like to think I'd take the opportunity to produce something more relevant than muttering "there are people who will never change" on a loop. I bought the rights to the other 7 themes in 2016, so it's unthinkable they used AI.
- I invested tens of thousands of dollars in professional assets from the Unity Asset Store - most of which again pre-date AI, or otherwise give assurances that it was not used.
- The "Infinite Lives" logo dates back to the iOS release of 2017, where using AI would have put a terrible strain on the space-time continuum.
- AI helped to depict the zombie fist in more of a comic book style and then upscale it to a higher resolution. The intention was to create an "other-worldly" art style that is deliberately distinct from the developer's own 2D or 3D. There was supposed to be a new cover every month like a real comic series.
- AI helped to construct a legal argument for the release of a customizable superhero sim, citing precedents and loopholes that the developer was not familiar with.
- My accountant may have used a calculator to calculate how much money we lost by releasing 2 games for the price of 1.
