This work uses CG and background illustrations partially created by image generation AI.
Some 2D visuals in the game, such as dream sequences or hallucinations, may be AI-generated to create surreal or distorted imagery. However, all gameplay mechanics, writing, and core assets are manually designed
This game utilizes AI-generated pre-rendered elements. Visual elements have been created using Playground AI, while voice acting has been performed using Genny Lovo AI and Freepik's AI tools. These AI-generated assets have been used to enhance the game's atmosphere and storytelling. However, the game does not use AI for real-time content generation or gameplay mechanics.
Some images in the game are AI-generated.
Some artwork in the game (such as character portraits) were generated using AI systems.
Game contents localization made with AI
AI content was used for voice overs and some marketing materials
This game uses AI translation to support multiple languages.

Some aspects of this game were developed with AI assistance. However, AI-generated content plays a very minor role, and the overall game experience does not rely on AI. Additionally, AI does not generate any content in real-time during gameplay.
AI in cutscenes
I am a broke student so i cant afford expensive artists so i used ai to make some art. Also ai helped me understand things about networking code.
Some visual assets, such as concept art and UI elements, were partially created with the help of generative AI tools during development. All final content has been reviewed and edited by human developers to ensure quality and appropriateness. No AI-generated content is used during gameplay.
AI-assisted translation used
All CGs, sprites, music, voice acting, and writing is human-generated by the artists listed on the credits screen in game. AI-generated assets were used exclusively for backgrounds as a cost-saving measure due to being a solo indie developer on a limited budget. By using generated backgrounds, the available funds were better spent on having more important human-generated assets, like MANY more CGs, voice acting, and new outfits for the characters. An in-depth post regarding this decision was made prior to development on Patreon and Discord. All members were informed about its use and the tradeoffs being considered. Members and supporters agreed they'd prefer to have more CGs and voiced lines instead of custom backgrounds. No patreon funds or profits from the earlier game were pocketed. This was purely a resource allocation decision. If the funds were available to do all custom backgrounds, that would have been done.
To generate the game logo.
I used AI only to polish the kid in the Steam marketing image and the retro poster on the walls in the game. All the other art was designed by my friends and me.
AI-Assisted Development and Marketing We believe in leveraging modern tools to enhance our workflow, and that includes using AI for various aspects of our project. For example: We use ChatGPT to help us refine our English and ensure our communication is clear and engaging. For quick and efficient mood boarding, we use MidJourney to generate visual concepts that inspire our creative process. Once the game is complete, we plan to use ChatGPT to assist with translations, making the game accessible in 80+ languages. These tools allow us to focus more on the creative process and make sure our community receives regular updates and clear communication across the globe.
We used AI to fix grammar mistakes in our store page description and to generate achievement icons. No AI-generated assets were used for major game content, character models, environments, animations, or gameplay elements.
This game contains AI-assisted assets. The monsters still want to kill you the old-fashioned way.
Some card artwork, scene backgrounds, and video were generated using generative AI (DALL-E). Players can interact with the game AI in chat (generative AI "NPC"/AI opponent chatbot) and some narrative scenes. Guardrails are in place so that the players cannot diverge, contextually, from the game, and controls are in place to prevent inappropriate input. Narrative context is generated live, based on player input as well as a history of player actions and game results. The live generated content is used to generate quest content and storyline content and the players can interact with the scene in some narrative situations. Guardrails are in place to prevent inappropriate input from the user and output by the AI. Guardrails are also used to keep all interactions within the context and confines of the game.
Game's source code contains AI generated code.
AI is only used for store page assets.
Generative AI was used in some of the trailer footage and character modeling.
AI was used to Generate Backgrounds for the steam Game page. Edits were made to these backgrounds and altered heavily by the creator.
Some graphical and auditory assets for Sonak were developed using Image and sound effect generation software. The majority of generated content is Icons, and sound effects that the player will encounter while playing Sonak. All assets generated were manually changed and designed to fit the look and feel of the game.
Some of the assets were accelerated by AI generation, but they were all re-polished in the later stages

Store page art
As a two‑person indie studio, we use AI tools to assist with specific parts of development including voice work, certain video cut‑scenes, and in‑game portraits. All core game content : characters, world design, and animation , is handcrafted by us and our collaborating artists. With very limited resources, AI allows us to stay efficient and make the most of the countless hours we dedicate to this project.
During development, the solo dev might use procedural tools or AI to speed up time-consuming tasks — but the final game is still fully shaped by the developer’s own creativity and decisions.
Generative AI was used during development to upscale certain textures for improved visual quality.
Part of the screen is assisted by AI
AI was used to generate card art for development. It is planned to replace the generated art with commissioned, human developed artwork.
Usage of AI Generated Music, Sound Effects and Art. All Pre-Rendered / Recorded
AI was used for some art and dialog to supplement the extensive assets created by designers and actors.
AI was used to create all the visuals in the game. However, every illustration required manual reworking, whether through adjustments, graphic polishing, or integration into the game. I understand that some may not appreciate this approach. Please know that my main goal has always been to create a fun and enjoyable game. I am a solo developer who left my job to dedicate 100% of my time to making video games. To be honest, I don’t know how to model in 3D or illustrate in 2D, which is why I used AI as a support tool. I’m fully aware that AI can be seen as a sensitive topic, and that’s why I’ve been reworking the visuals as much as possible. My wish is also, if the game allows me the resources after release, to collaborate with a 2D artist to further enhance the visual identity. Thank you sincerely for your understanding, and I truly hope you’ll enjoy playing Vampire Cat despite these choices. Your support means the world to me.
The store page capsule image background is generated by AI.
Artificial intelligence was used to enhance various aspects of the game. Narrations were generated with AI to provide an immersive experience. AI also assisted in editing and formatting the store texts, ensuring clarity and impact. Additionally, promotional images and the game video were created using AI technology, resulting in engaging and high-quality visual content. Translations were also performed with AI, enabling accessible communication for different audiences.
AI was used to assist with asset and plugin development.
In the development of this game, I used AI as a supportive tool to optimize certain workflows, enhance the creative process, and explore new possibilities. While all of the art, coding, and writing were created by me, AI helped streamline repetitive tasks, refine assets, and provide coding insights. My aim was to use AI as an assistant that added value without overshadowing the personal, hands-on approach that defines this game.
AI-generated content is only used for character/map settings inspirations, none AI content is include in-game
We use artificial intelligence to generate pre-rendered content for Monochrome Nemesis, including its store page, marketing materials, and community resources. AI helps us optimize and personalize these elements to offer an engaging and unique experience.
I used AI for certain icons, sound effects and Music.
Generative artificial intelligence was used to create pre-rendered images for the game and store page.
Use of AI for color enhancement, lighting, and character posing, combined with Adobe suite programs for the final touch. Applied to the various banners for the Steam store.
AI was used for grammar and spell checking, as well as for brainstorming certain problems. A select few generated images were used as a starting point and then further manipulated using image editing software. One example is a generated skull image that was used in the background of some menus. These were heavily altered to have a dithered, pixelated look. No AI was used for any of the sprites found in the game (e.g., the monsters, menu icons, and so on). These were handmade by the awesome artists behind the Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup tileset.
