Public Steam disclosure research25,380 disclosures tracked
Where do games disclose AI use?
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across
games, and follow recorded changes.
This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to
statements published on individual store pages.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam.
Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
AI was used solely to generate the store page artwork, specifically for the title image. No AI was used in the actual game itself—game assets, environments, and mechanics are all created manually. All in-game screenshots displayed on the store page are genuine and accurately represent the gameplay experience.
Generative AI tools were used to create or initialize some store page material, as I am a game developer not a graphic designer. This made preparing some store page art assets easier, allowing me to spend more time working on the game itself.
As a small team with a limited budget, we used AI to assist with background music and multi-language localization. This allowed us to bring the game to a wider audience while focusing our resources on gameplay and visual design.
Dictionary entries and example sentences for Kanji Grinder's flashcards were generated with custom AI tooling, but have been checked by both a custom AI error-detection system and a human reviewer for correctness and accuracy. Voice clips of vocabulary word pronunciation were created via Amazon Polly, a high-accuracy AI-based text-to-speech system. All other voice clips are from human voice actors.
Kanji Grinder contains no AI-generated artistic assets.
Only this store page uses generative AI (Google Translate) to translate from English into other languages. No generative AI is used in the game or any other materials.
While in the development and public demo / playtesting phase, the game is temporarily using AI-generated voiceovers.
Upon full release, these will be replaced with human performances and there will no longer be any AI content in the game.
Super Slime Boy does not use generative AI during gameplay. Some promotional materials and concept art on the store page were created using AI-assisted tools, but all in-game content is handcrafted and carefully designed by the development team.

Generative AI was used to generate the large images and certain UI elements. However, all the final images were manually retouched.
The music is original, but AI was used during the creation process.
It came to our attention that certain assets and translations were created using AI by third parties. Most have been enhanced and fixed with handmade content.
We aim to remove all the AI content post release.
We use generative AI to simulate the real-world lives of in-game NPCs, giving each their own personality, preferences, memories, and relationship with the player.
We also use generative AI to reason about conversations and trigger specific in-game events based on what is said during open-ended conversations.
We also use generative AI to further flesh out the world by generating documents and files on each NPC's computer, which the player can browse through.
Everything in the game (every line of code, every 2d, 3d, and audio asset) is written/made by either Kiyasui-Hito (the solo indie developer of this game) or a third-party entity as credited in the game's credits screen, without any assistance/use of AI.
Text translations (in-game menus, store page descriptions) were done using AI.
The temporary capsule image art on the store page is also AI generated.
AI is used in this way because I have a low budget and my friend who is an artist is quite busy these days.
AI was used to generate the backgrounds, enemies, and character portraits.
Gyudon Games consists of a single developer who deeply respects artists and understands that AI cannot replace their creativity.
"Guild Encounters" is a labor of love, inspired by many JRPGs of the past. Without the use of AI, creating this game would not have been possible given the developer's limited resources.
I hope you understand this decision. Thank you for your support—I will continue working hard to deliver the best experience possible!
Used AI for spellchecking and text formatting; Used AI during code development for the purpose of suggesting code completion and generating code snippets;
At least some of the music was created or modified with the use of AI.
I experimented with some AI code generation by creating python scripts that would modify images when run.
NOTE: AI did not touch the actual images, it merely codified verbal requests (such as resizing, cropping, merging) into python scripts. FWIW It was a convenient way of finding the correct PIL API to perform the desired action; however, every one of those scripts needed to be modified by-hand before use.
We use artificial intelligence to generate pre-rendered content for Monochrome Nemesis, including its store page, marketing materials, and community resources. AI helps us optimize and personalize these elements to offer an engaging and unique experience.
Background Music (Suno)
Voice Over Audio (XTTS)
All voice over audio was created with permission from the voice actor. Cosmic Construct has a constructed language (conlang) spoken by the game's characters.
