Public Steam disclosure research 25,383 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
Generative AI tools were used to help develop a few in game textures for the portraits and playing cards.
Some music tracks in the game were created using AI-based tools such as Suno AI.
We used generative AI tools during development to enhance visual and audio quality. Specifically, textures were created using Stable Diffusion, and in-game voiceovers and sound effects were generated and improved using ElevenLabs. No AI is used during gameplay.
Black and white photos collected in-game are AI-generated to create the most realistic Polaroid storytelling and a vintage aesthetic to the game.

Content created by artificial intelligence is mostly used for sprites, images, textures, in-game or on the Steam page
The game only uses AI for the trailer’s narrator voice.

I used AI generation to speed up development speed for some 3d art assets only. Pre-rendered 3D assets based on scans and real life objects.
This work uses CG and background illustrations partially created by image generation AI.
This game and its store page include some AI-generated content: images (Fooocus), music (Suno, PRO subscription), and text (ChatGPT).
AI-generated content is mostly used for sprites, images, like the images on the steam page
As a small indie studio with limited budget, we use AI mainly to prototype and enhance, never to replace our artists' work.
used ai for the image of shocked dog face
A small number of images were lightly enhanced using AI-based editing tools for visual polish. No gameplay elements, mechanics, or live-generated content use AI. All core assets and gameplay are fully created by Solozard Games.
AI was used to generate some in game assets and Steam assets
The storepage's artwork as well as some of the game art is AI-Generated by me. I am not an artist unfortunately, and cannot afford to hire one, but I did my best to make it look realistic and visually appealing to audiences :)

All CGs, sprites, music, voice acting, and writing is human-generated by the artists listed on the credits screen in game. AI-generated assets were used exclusively for backgrounds as a cost-saving measure due to being a solo indie developer on a limited budget. By using generated backgrounds, the available funds were better spent on having more important human-generated assets, like MANY more CGs, voice acting, and new outfits for the characters. An in-depth post regarding this decision was made prior to development on Patreon and Discord. All members were informed about its use and the tradeoffs being considered. Members and supporters agreed they'd prefer to have more CGs and voiced lines instead of custom backgrounds. No patreon funds or profits from the earlier game were pocketed. This was purely a resource allocation decision. If the funds were available to do all custom backgrounds, that would have been done.
To generate the game logo.
The narration sound was generated using generative AI.
The Empty House uses AI-generated video effects in select nightmare sequences, primarily in the Shadows of the Empty House version. These AI-enhanced visuals help create surreal and unsettling distortions, reinforcing the psychological horror experience. No AI is used for live-generated content or gameplay mechanics—everything is carefully crafted to deliver a unique and immersive narrative.
I used AI only to polish the kid in the Steam marketing image and the retro poster on the walls in the game. All the other art was designed by my friends and me.
Localization-related
The game's store page uses AI-generated images. The game's content, mechanics, and story do not contain any AI-generated elements.
AI-generated content was used as a reference to create some of the visual materials for the store page in the best possible way.
Most of the pictures and text
All of the game's marketing is carefully AI-generated to fit the game's visuals and rules. Since I don't have a design team, I had to turn to this handy tool.
We used AI to fix grammar mistakes in our store page description and to generate achievement icons. No AI-generated assets were used for major game content, character models, environments, animations, or gameplay elements.
Store Page Some store visuals were assisted by AI and are not present in the actual game. In Game In our cinematic and some of our anomalies, we used AI-generated voice production. Apart from the voices we produced, only our paintings contain AI-generated textures. The copyrights of the products we created belong to us.
Part of the modified content of this game is generated with AI assistance, including (some character drawings, backgrounds, CG, music, etc.). All AI-generated content is manually reviewed and optimized to ensure quality and consistency. This game uses AI-generated content based on legal data sets, complies with Steam policy content, and ensures no infringement of third-party copyrights.
