Much of the enemy graphics were made with the help of generative AI. However, none of them are simply used "as is." Getting the artwork to match Hong Kong 97's SNES graphics requires downscaling resolution and adjusting contrast, saturation etc.
In Police Chief we use AI tools to support development in creative ways, never for coding or game logic. AI helps us generate things like: - logos and design ideas - Randomized names, reports, and text responses - Suggestions and advice to improve features All core gameplay, systems, and programming are made by the development team. AI is only used to improve content of like callouts, reaction from NPC's etc.

ARIA‑404: Labyrinth Protocol uses generative AI to create all pre-rendered content, including visuals, voice acting, music, world design, dialogue, & narrative. No AI is used during gameplay. Every element is crafted using a curated blend of AI tools by a solo developer to push the boundaries of interactive storytelling. This approach allows for a mythic, multimedia game experience that will evolve over time with community input.
We used AI to create a small number of pre-rendered assets: AI‑generated images were used to replace the original user picture that appears at the top of some screenshots, and AI assisted with localization translations. All AI outputs were reviewed and edited by our team before being shipped. If you have any questions or want more details, feel free to ask.

AI-Enhanced Outcomes: The “one-line ending” feature lets players write a single sentence, and the AI adapts the film’s finale accordingly. AI Simulation: Budget allocation and box office outcomes are simulated by AI, reflecting efficiency and audience reception. AI Assets: All images, sound effects, music, and voice acting in the game are AI-generated, creating a seamless and ever-changing movie-making world.
