Public Steam disclosure research 25,376 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.

Unfortunately I'm very bad at drawing, so I used Gen AI to create graphical resources for pilots, Mephisto heads, crew images, ships sprites and background images.
Chat-GPT
Generative AI has only been used to create placeholder background music tracks, as a type of "elevator music", while I learn more about sound design and music producing. No AI has been used anywhere else, in art or development. Everything else has been done by one individual, and the hope is to have all the AI generated soundtracks replaced before launch. Sorry for any AI hate, and thanks for the understanding.
Generative AI tools were used as part of the creative workflow to help produce certain marketing and promotional assets, such as concept artwork and store page imagery. The game itself, including all gameplay, mechanics, in-game assets, and narrative content, is developed by a human team. No generative AI is used to create live or dynamic content within the game.
A limited number of background images and sprites were created with generative AI. Most assets and all gameplay were created manually, the other rest is self-created or from the Unity Asset Store.
Some artworks and voiceovers were created with AI assistance and enchanced per me. As a solo developer, this helps me save time so I can focus more on fun gameplay quality, balance, and polishing.
AI was used to assist in drafting, refining, and translating the store page's Short Description and Long Description. This was done to ensure better readability, clarity, and grammatical accuracy for players. The final content was reviewed, edited, and approved by the developer to ensure it accurately reflects the gameplay experience. As well as assisting in the creation of some 2D UI elements and icons.
This game uses generative AI tools during development to assist with creating some artwork and to support programming and iteration.
Use of Generative Artificial Intelligence in Planet of Lava – Save the Planet This Game uses generative artificial intelligence (AI) technology to enhance certain in-game features. Specifically: 1. Procedural Content: Some icons and misics may be generated with the assistance of AI to create varied and dynamic game levels. 2. Non-Critical Assets: All core gameplay mechanics, story, and essential level design are created by the developers. AI is only used to assist in generating supplementary content. 3. User Safety: No player personal data is used by the AI. All AI-generated content is internal to the game and does not involve external servers or cloud processing that could access user information. By playing the Game, you acknowledge that some in-game content may be AI-generated for artistic or procedural purposes.
AI used in development for character portraits, abstract images and music
I used BEZI and AI to help write scripts because im literally only one person and it would take 15 years and potentially cost hundreds of thousands of dollars to create this if i didnt have AI assistants.
Some graphics created with AI assistance.
Some in-game visual assets and code snippets were developed with the assistance of generative AI tools. These pre-generated elements were used to enhance the visual quality and technical foundation of the game.
During the development process, AI-based tools are utilized to assist with the creation of visual content only. In all such cases, these tools serve strictly as a support mechanism, and the final product remains a direct reflection of the developer's original vision, design, and standards.
Some visual assets on the store page and parts of the in-game art were created with the assistance of generative AI tools and then curated, edited, and integrated by the developer (Cag). Portions of the store page text and the game’s music were created with the assistance of generative AI tools.
Generative AI was used to assist in the creation of the current store page capsule art and backgrounds. These images are intended as placeholders / proof of concept and will be replaced with hand-crafted assets as development continues and before release. AI was also used for coding assistance and bug-fixing during development.
As a solo developer, generative AI was used only for the Steam capsule images. I plan to replace them with hand drawn artwork before the game is released.
Partly AI Logo
Some images used to promote this game are artificially created.
AI was used to create placeholders of 2D sprites used in parts of the UI and as stage prompts. All of these elements will be removed over time.
Generative AI is used only for creating store thumbnails and in-game translations.
The IA was used to clean, tidy and simplify code, make some 3d Environment assets and some UI elements
Some music was generated with the help of AI.
Umbra Survivors does not use artificial intelligence during runtime. AI tools were only used as development assistance to help prepare, optimize, or comment on code. All in-game content (graphics, sounds, text, and code) has been manually reviewed and originates from internal development or properly licensed sources.
AI has been used to help develop the game's cover art.
Some minor assets and text were created with the assistance of AI tools during development. All core game design, gameplay systems, programming, and overall art direction were created and implemented by the developer. AI tools were used only as a supportive tool during the development process.
Some of the images in the game's loading screens are AI
The music in the trailer, title screen graphics, game over screen graphics, bouncy ball graphic, and airplane graphic were all generated with AI. Everything else was produced by the people who helped develop this product.
code 2D sprites images
Use of AI refactored image of the game's enemy character in the cover art.
AI was used initially to prototype a design of the logo for the 1st game Astro Fighters. This design has been manually adjusted from the AI concept and now forms a part of the Astro Fighters and Astro Fighters 2 logo designs.
The music in the game was generated by AI
This game uses generative artificial intelligence in a limited capacity to create some user interface images and visual elements for the narrative videos. AI was also used to support the writing of certain code snippets during development. No AI-generated content was used directly; everything was modified and adapted to integrate seamlessly with the game's visual and technical style. The 3D models, most of the code, and the overall design were developed manually by the team.
The voiceover in the trailer was generated using AI technology.
Story,Localization; I'm using AI as a tool to assist me, but the main story, characters, and major plot points are all created by me. This way, there's no unnecessarily long or ridiculous AI-generated story; I'm just using it to make things clearer.
As a one-person indie dev on a small island, with a clear idea, some programming skillz, minimal artistic talent, and practically zero funding, using AI has helped me actually to finish developing Lightyears of Fervent Warfare. I started developing LoFW during COVID-19, when I began learning game development as a hobby during Seychelles' lockdown. I had coded my MSc project in C# and was able to code everything by hand. I was even able to design the pixel graphics on my own. Then COVID-19 ended, life continued, and LoFW was left in the dust. This year, I experimented with the Cursor and Midjourney AIs and discovered that I could leverage them to continue developing my game part-time. Using Cursor to modify my existing code and generate new code via vibe coding helped me implement features quickly. This gave me the time to focus on the actual game design, the feature set, and testing. And while I still work on most of the pixel graphics by hand, using Midjourney to generate more complex graphics has helped me save time and resources that I don't yet have. Sure, using AI still takes time; I can be pedantic and tend to modify and optimise everything manually. Chastising AIs, reviewing code, and doing manual edits to the graphics are now part of my workflow. AI shenanigans notwithstanding, I do hope that you'll support my game!
No AI has been used to generate game art or code. Some marketing materials use generated textures.
게임 내 사용되는 일부 이미지들은 AI를 이용하여 제작되었습니다.
The game logo has been enhanced using AI.
Artificial intelligence was only used to create music in the demo version teaser.
Certain resources, including music and images, were created with the assistance of AI. No AI systems are included. The game does not generate text, dialogue, code, levels, characters, or voices in real time during gameplay.
Some 3D models and graphics were created using AI tools. Parts of the game's code were also developed with AI.
Marketing materials
We harness AI to supercharge our creative process—not to replace human artists, but to elevate them. By automating repetitive tasks, we give our team more time to focus on storytelling, world-building, and game design. Within the game itself, we leverage generative algorithms and AI to create dynamic levels, evolving enemy behavior, and unique puzzle scenarios—ensuring every playthrough feels fresh and alive.
AI assisted in programming the game and some of the artwork.
Ponchorado's music tracks where created with AI assistance.
Generative AI tools were used to assist in the development of some assets in the game.
As a single indie developer I had to use AI to help with creating some of the assets for store pages and logos.
Some of the marketing billboard textures have been created with AI. Image and Logo enhancements with AI tools in Photoshop
