Where do games disclose AI use?
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across
games, and follow recorded changes.
This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to
statements published on individual store pages.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam.
Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
This game is designed, developed, and published by an independent developer, with AI tools used to assist during development:
Written text was drafted with AI assistance and reviewed and edited by the developer.
The gameplay, the art style, and every revision were decided by the developer.
Some visuals and animations are drawn by code and were reviewed and revised version by version; no AI image-generation models were used.
Map tiles and furniture are human-created licensed assets.
Music and sound effects are human-created licensed assets.
The store capsule artwork was commissioned from a human artist; its background may contain AI-generated elements.
The game does not use AI to generate any content at runtime.
Some voice audio in EMPTYLAND was created using generative artificial intelligence tools. AI-generated voices are used as part of the game's narrative and in-game audio experience.
A small amount of artwork and text included in the game was created using generative AI during development. All such content is pre-generated. The game does not generate AI content during gameplay or connect to external AI services.
Some character portraits were created with generative AI. AI tools were also used to help write and translate the store page and to translate the game's text. The story and dialogue were written by our team.
This game was made possible due to generative AI coding. It uses generative AI for the code base and procedural environmental generation but is limited to that. Models and music have been manually created.
Generative AI has been used to help work with coding.
All Assets (art, models, animations, sprites/textures, sounds and music have been made by myself or have been bought)
ISKRA currently includes AI-generated artwork prepared during development. We plan to replace this artwork with work created by human artists before leaving Early Access, giving the game the individual artistic identity we envision.
Some promotional artwork on this store page was created using generative AI tools. All in-game assets (characters, environments, effects) are original or licensed third-party content.
Generative AI is used to story board, code, analyze code, analyze performance, create thumbnails and many basic tasks like that to speed up workflows. We pay human artists for things like zombies, guns, props, static meshes etc.
Pre-generated content: the pixel art (characters, animations, tiles, props, UI frames) and the store capsule art were made with the help of an AI pixel-art tool, then selected, edited and assembled by the developer. Store page texts and their translations were drafted with AI assistance and reviewed by the developer. The game does not generate any content with AI while you play. Music, sound effects and fonts are licensed assets made by people.
Portraits of characters and creatures are generated using Stable Diffusion. They appear in-game and in store page materials. I plan to replace all generated portraits with hand-drawn art.
Some in-game labels and text descriptions are placeholders generated by an LLM. I am gradually rewriting them by hand.
I use AI to assist in coding, and some skill icons for combat/talent trees; however all character sprites/animations are hand animated. Using AI allows me to make a game with all of the ideas I have and transform them into something tangible, and viewable. The goal is simple, create a fun game that people enjoy playing.
Some of the game's artwork, including characters, monsters, items and backgrounds, was created with the help of generative AI tools and then edited and refined by our team; none of it is used as raw AI output. Parts of the in-game text and translations were also produced with AI assistance. No AI content is generated during gameplay.
This game used generative AI for asset creation during development. The HQ statue's 3D model was created with Meshy AI, and background music was composed with Suno AI. Most in-game icons and images were created using Google Gemini and ChatGPT.
Generative AI was used during development to create or assist with some in-game artwork, promotional images, written content, and localization. The game does not use generative AI to generate content during gameplay.
Generative AI was used during development to assist with the creation and refinement of some visual assets, including character artwork, environmental artwork, icons, and promotional imagery. AI-assisted assets were reviewed, edited, and integrated by the developer to maintain a consistent visual style. Generative AI is not used during gameplay and does not generate content in real time.
As with most VTT systems, users are welcome to import assets made anywhere. Phroller makes it easier than ever. You can just drag the image or model files into the VTT directly from your browser or file system!
I want to encourage supporting real artists where we can though. As such I do my best to collaborate with real creatives on the vast Phroller libraries. Each one of the assets in the library has a field showing the artist behind it. If you like their work, please consider checking them out. Many of them are open for commissions as well! However, I cannot guarantee that assets or part of those assets were created with no AI use at all. A large amount of the assets are made before 2022 though, so we should be safe there.
While I do my best to make Phroller as user friendly as possible, it does still require a ton of instructions and manuals. Frontier models are used to keep some of the text up to date across rapid early access development. Sorry if it sounds robotic!
AI models have been used to validate, optimize, rank and test the puzzles and the simulation engine. Soundtrack is procedurally generated music using the same engine that simulates the electronics, powered by the C~ language.
Generative AI tools were used during development to assist with the creation and adjustment of some visual assets, localized text, and other production content. All AI-assisted content was created before release and was reviewed, selected, and edited by the developer before being included in the game. The game does not use generative AI during runtime, and no player input is sent to generative AI services.
Pre-generated AI content includes equipment illustrations, skill icons, clothing surface textures, short English character-selection voice lines, and Steam capsule and library artwork. AI tools also assisted with store-page text and translations. The game does not generate AI content or connect to AI services during gameplay.
Generative AI tools were used to assist with localization during development. All in-game art assets were hand-drawn, manually edited, and refined by the creator. No generative AI is used while the game is running.
Some in-game assets were created with the assistance of generative AI tools during development. All AI-assisted content has been reviewed, edited, and curated by our team before being included in the game. The game does not use generative AI at runtime — no content is generated while you play.
I'm a solo developer, not an artist or musician. So I used AI to help create some of the artwork and music for this game. Everything else (code, game system, UI design, mission design, story planning, and overall creative direction) is entirely my own work. I also reused some hand-drawn pixel art from my previous game, created entirely without AI. If you prefer games made without generative AI, please check out my previous release. It's entirely human-made, with deeper mechanics and more systems to explore!
We used AI as a “support tool” in the creation of in-store visuals and certain in-game UI elements. We use AI solely as a support tool. We never leave the entire process to AI for any task.
The developer uses generative AI during development for prototyping (placeholder models/assets), and some current store‑page marketing images are AI‑composed. No generative AI runs during gameplay.
Artificial intelligence has been used to create localisations in languages other than Polish and English.
If you spot any errors in the translation, please let us know on our Steam discussion forums so that we can correct them!
Whilst working on the game in Early Access, we occasionally use AI technology to generate a small number of missing graphical elements in order to speed up game updates.
This is a temporary solution, and we will replace all generated images by the time the full version of the game is released.
Generative AI tools were used to during development to assist with game code, content, and materials. The game contains no live generative AI interactions and does not generate content during gameplay.
Some 3D props and textures in this game were created with the help of generative AI tools during development. Every generated asset was then reviewed, edited, retextured and integrated by hand, and anything that did not meet our quality bar was rebuilt or discarded. All gameplay, code, level design, systems and written text are human-made. The game does not generate any content with AI while you play.
Spellsanity is made by one person and uses generative AI as a tool, not as a substitute for design.
Art: Much of the pixel art (enemies, bosses, characters, portraits, story stills, environment details) was produced with AI image generators and then reworked by hand: reduced to the game's colour palette, corrected pixel by pixel, animated and fitted into the game. Some of the art (surfaces, effects, UI frames) was drawn without AI or generated procedurally.
Text: Dialogue, descriptions and help texts were written with AI assistance and revised by the developer. The translations from English (German, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Chinese) were produced with AI and spot-checked; please report mistakes.
Code: AI assistants were used during programming.
Music and sound are not AI: the music is licensed work by Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com), the sound effects are synthesized.
No AI runs inside the game. All content is shipped with the game and was reviewed before release; nothing is generated at runtime.
Pre-generated content only. The game contains no live or runtime AI generation and makes no network connection.
Visual art: the pixel art in this game — sprites, backgrounds, key art, banners and icons — was produced with the assistance of generative AI image tools and then edited, composited, recoloured and assembled by hand for use in the game.
Written content and store text: the encounter text and the store description were written with AI assistance and edited by the developer.
Everything shipped was reviewed by a human before it went in. No content is generated while the game is running.
Generative AI was used to create some store page images, in-game images, and concept art for certain 3D models. All generated content was reviewed and edited by the development team.
Some of the artwork and text in this game and on its store page, including the translations, were created with the assistance of AI tools and reviewed by the developer.
We use AI as a production tool in areas of development, with all creative direction, concepts, and final assembly done by humans:
Code assistance: AI tools help us write and debug GDScript/shader code for our Godot 4.5 engine. All architecture, game design decisions, and systems design are human-led.
3D models and art assets: Some 3D models and textures are AI-generated or AI-assisted, then manually cleaned up, retopologized, and integrated by hand. Final visual style and direction are decided by us.
Audio: Some sound effects and audio elements are AI-generated, then curated, edited, and mixed to fit the game.
Everything else — the game concept, world design, story, gameplay systems, and the process of bringing all elements together into the final game — is entirely human-made.
The game utilizes AI-generated content (such as concept illustrations, capsule art, and certain user interface asset variations) during the development process to enhance visual presentation.
