Public Steam disclosure research 25,380 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
Music and 2D Graphics are made with AI generated content.
Translations for languages other than English are provided using DeepL AI.

AI is used to generate mass art assets used in the game, for example, the facial texture of generic soccer players and NPCs
Some textures were generated with AI.
Some languages are translated with the help of AI, some graphical assets have been created with AI.
The images on the store page are generated using AI
Some parts of the game's cover art and music theme were created within software using a genAI pipepline.
Malware Tycoon uses AI to the most minimal extent possible. This includes some music (but never any lyrical content) and a minimal subset of graphics (less than 5%). AI is not used liberally in the production of Malware Tycoon, and where a feasible effort can be made to exclude it, that effort is executed.

AI was used to generate some assets and marketing material.
AI like ChatGPT is used to check edit dialog and UI texts because English is my second language. Let me know if I made mistakes anyway.
HUMAN FREELANCE ARTISTS designed the locations and the characters' original looks. Pre-generated voice Text-to-Speech as productional placeholders where it makes sense creatively. Placeholders will be replaced by real voice acting as development continues. Please note: All voices were used consensually and voice actors were compensated for the use of their voices.
Some use of AI to generate background music, text or other artwork that is then heavily edited and vetted and appears in the game seamlessly with the large amount of hand-made artwork, to help fill gaps in a small low-budget production and enhance the overall experience.
As a two man bootstrapped indie team, achieving our game's vision without AI would have been literally impossible. We have used AI tools such as Midjourney for item icons, some materials in game, & parts of our trailers. We also used AI such as Soundraw.io for our soundtrack in-game, Suno for trailer music, Elevenlabs for voice acting, and a few other AI tools for technical areas of the game.
AI helps us in the basis of our design of new graphics and renderings for the different decorative elements at the marketing and in-game level.
Some images were made using AI
Generative AI used for store page description.
I created the original sound tracks of Mad Miner 2 with artificial intelligence.
We're using AI-generated images only for the distant background of the game.
In our game, AI is used to generate pre-rendered content, specifically for creating descriptive texts for in-game items. These AI-generated descriptions provide detailed explanations, lore, and attributes for various game elements such as weapons, potions, and resources. All AI-generated content is finalized and embedded into the game during development, ensuring that no dynamic AI processes are run during gameplay.
1. NPC and Player Still Portraits (Planned to be replaced eventually) 2. Voice Narration 3. Some Menu Backgrounds were partially AI generated Over 99% of the game image assets were purchased from the community, are free assets, or done custom by our partner, Deco Games.
We used AI to generate a series of Comics that will be used on the marketing of the game, but not in the game itself or assets inside the game.
The vast majority of art materials in this game are generated using AI. But the generated art materials are mostly scenes, food, tables, chairs, benches, etc., so there is no copyright issue.
Our Policy for AI Use Even if, and disclose from time to time that, we use AI in some of our products, it never means that our product consists of AI-generated content, which is simply impossible but may be presumed by some people. We continue our due diligence and necessary efforts to come up with the best content. AI is a field that we keep track of and welcome curiously and excitedly. It is something not the world gives us but what we get from the world according to our requirements. However, We always consider the rights of commercial and ethical use of AI. Therefore, we subscribe to their content, pay their respective fee, and keep their receipts/licenses. How may we use AI? We may use outsourced AI in a number of different ways in addition to our own in-game AI mechanics, as it gives us uniqueness and originality as we like, and as long as its content is compliant with our above policy: Sound files: We have a large collection of audio clips we have purchased and keep purchasing. We also have the means to make our own sound files. Sometimes we may also use AI-made sounds to make audio clips as well if we fail to find what we are looking for in our archive. Graphics: We may use AI for some of our graphical assets. We have various means like software with which we can create characters, particularly our animated characters in the trailers and cutscenes, which are our own unique designs. Ideas: We may chat with AI about whether an idea is suitable for the current genre we are working on. However, we plan to discontinue this use of AI as it lacks originality. For example, when we asked for the names of two female characters for a fantasy game, AI suggested “Anya and Ayleen.” They are obviously names used before and we needed to change the names of our two characters. The above use of our AI may naturally appear on our store page as we include fragments from our game to introduce and promote it. This policy may be subject to change depending on the developments, ethical considerations, and circumstances regarding the use of AI in the future.
All AI images used are edited to heavily edited by hand. They were used for the cover art, enemies and background art.
Some character portraits and visual elements were created with the assistance of generative AI tools as part of the art production process. All assets were curated, edited, and integrated to maintain a consistent artistic direction. As the game continues development, certain visual elements may be refined or replaced. AI-assisted tools may also be used to support translations.
Our game uses GenAI at run time in our game engine to power various gameplay mechanics so that the game can respond to whatever players say and do in the moment. We're excited to build on both known game dev tools and also develop new capabilities, all to be able to build games that are more improvisational and responsive to player creativity and agency. We did not use AI generation for any of our art assets, nor for the NPC customer motivations, personalities, or quests.
Use of Generative AI This game makes selective use of generative AI tools as part of its development pipeline. Generative AI has been used to assist in the creation of certain visual elements, including concept art, some 3D environment assets, NPC prototyping, and promotional/store imagery. These tools are integrated as part of a broader creative workflow. Some narrative texts, descriptions, and written content were generated, refined, or edited with the assistance of AI tools, based on original ideas, concepts, and direction provided by the author. The core design, gameplay systems, level design, programming, balancing, and a significant portion of the art and world-building have been handcrafted and developed directly by the creator using industry-standard tools. Generative AI is used as a complementary tool to enhance productivity and support creative iteration, while maintaining full creative direction and artistic control.
Item images and icon images of shops, Forge, and dungeons were created with the AI. All the BGM in the game was created with AI.
Primarily used for image generation and text correctness, and possibly for translation.
AI used to create some sounds, images and help to fix scripts
I use AI to help with steam achievements as well as translations, voices and marketing images.

Generative AI is used to create enemy sprites, backgrounds and some descriptive images such as those in random events.
Used in the program code and translation of the formulas.
"In Chef Brawl, we have utilized AI in the following ways: Content Generation: Some game content was initially generated using AI tools. This served as a starting point for our creative process. Design References: AI was used to create design references and inspiration for our final product. Human Refinement: While AI assisted in the initial stages, all AI-generated content and designs were reviewed, refined, and finalized by our human development team to ensure quality and coherence with our game vision. No core gameplay mechanics or critical narrative elements rely on real-time AI processing. The AI was primarily used as a tool in our development process to enhance creativity and efficiency."
It is used in the steam capsule and also during the loading screen. Sometimes used to optimize code.
We used AI to create the capsules for the game's store page.
In the game, AI is used to enhance the bartending experience by providing players with a vast and dynamic selection of nearly 20,000 unique drinks that they can discover and create. Each drink comes with its own history, offering a rich backstory that adds depth to the gameplay. While these histories are largely fictional, they serve to immerse players in the world of mixology and bartending. The AI-driven system ensures that players can continuously explore and experiment with different combinations, making each playthrough a unique experience.
All voices heard in the game are generated by ElevenLabs AI audio. ElevenLabs provides a platform for voice actors to earn revenue by sharing an AI model of their voice. All rights to use their voice are provided by the actor and have been attained for use in this game.
