Public Steam disclosure research25,497 disclosures tracked
Where do games disclose AI use?
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across
games, and follow recorded changes.
This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to
statements published on individual store pages.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam.
Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
I am a single Dev - with 5 dependents ( 3 have special needs and demand time) and a ZERO budget. I am unemployed trying to have a go.
I wanted to make this game and it would of NEVER happened with out AI generated art.
Generative AI was used during development to assist in creating certain visual assets (pixel art characters, scene tiles, etc.). All AI-generated content was reviewed, curated, and modified by hand. Game code, design, and narrative were created by human developers and assisted with Generative AI.
This game uses AI for Image capsules and Image logo for store page. All other screenshots and in game screenshots which are purely created by me and does not have AI in it.
This is a solo-developed project created with limited time and resources. Some assets (such as visuals or audio) were partially generated or assisted using AI tools to make development feasible.
All such content has been manually reviewed and adjusted to fit the game's atmosphere and design.
AI was used to extend the variations in characters and to enhance some of our own visuals.
Voices were performed by actual actors or AI voices.
Original music was enhanced with AI.
As a blind developer, I use AI-assisted generative tools to bridge the gap in creatingvisual marketing assets and to ensure presentation meets modern store standards
The AI has been used to provide translations for people across the world!
Also - Library Hero image were created to show how it would feel to be alone as operator of old entropy archive machine.
An Icon for the app was creted with AI, yeah... I just do not have designer, so....here it go...
Pre-Generated Content (AI-assisted art):
Some promotional and marketing artwork & game arts of the tiles & the facilities was created with the assistance of AI image generation tools used as a starting point, subsequently edited and modified by the developer. All in-game characters & effects are hand-crafted by the developer.
AI was used in the production of this game:
• graphic assets — Nano Banana Pro with Google Flow / GPT-Image-2
• Music and some sound effects — Suno AI v5, Elevenlabs.
• Translations — GPT 5.5
Currently only AI generated item is the Store graphics.
It is, however, intended in the future for the game itself to contain AI generated graphics as well.
I'm Alex, a solo developer. Most of Sphere TD is handmade by me: towers, mods, UI, maps, game design, and core gameplay art.
A small amount of AI assisted creation is used for flavor: optional map background images (off by default), and music tracks that combine indie production with AI assisted composition.
I also have a no AI assets switch in Settings to toggle off generated content if you prefer.
Some visual assets in this game, including backgrounds and certain enemy designs, were created using AI-assisted tools and then edited, modified, and integrated into the game by the developer.
Some visual assets (illustrations and portraits) and the music were created with the help of AI tools. The game code was developed with AI-assisted programming. All content was reviewed, curated, and approved by the developer.
Some content in this game, including text and certain assets, was created with the assistance of AI tools during development. All AI-generated content has been reviewed, edited, and integrated by the developer to ensure quality and consistency.
AI tools were used during development to assist with asset creation (pixel art sprites, terrain textures, localization drafts) and game design iteration. All AI-generated content was reviewed, edited and curated by the developer.
Spa World was developed with AI-assisted tools used during
the development process, including code assistance and
content drafting. All game design, creative direction,
artwork, and final decisions were made by the developer.
The game itself does not use or generate AI content
during gameplay.
This game does not use generative AI to produce in-game content. All gameplay systems, player generation, simulation, and narrative content are built on authored procedural logic.
I’m a good programmer, but a terrible artist. So some of the images were created with the help of AI. By the time of release, I’ll try to remove all AI-generated images from the Steam page and from some textures in the game.
This game uses generative artificial intelligence tools during parts of its development process. AI assistance was used in a limited capacity for implementing certain minor systems and supporting the coding workflow, representing a small portion of the overall codebase.
In addition, some visual assets and UI elements were created or enhanced using AI-generated imagery, often combined with manual editing and integration to fit the game’s style and design.
As a solo developer with a limited budget, I am currently using Generative AI text-to-speech tools to create the voice-overs, 911 calls, and radio communications in the game. A dispatch simulator requires a massive amount of audio, and using AI allows me to populate the game with necessary placeholder dialogue during active development. My ultimate goal, as the game grows and funding allows, is to replace these AI placeholders with real human voice actors in future updates.
Generative AI was only used for some in-game decorative wall paintings and to assist with the store page text/translations. All core gameplay, main art, animations, and coding are human created.
Generative AI was used throughout the development process. It was utilized alongside humans to assist with tasks. Notably: debugging, localization, asset creation, and marketing materials. All AI-generated content was reviewed, edited, and integrated by the developer to ensure quality and consistency.
AI generation tools were utilized to assist in the creation of static 2D/3D background aesthetic assets, as well as for structural programming assistance involving the core mathematical idling engines
As a solo developer, I’ve used AI-assisted tools to create some of the game’s assets. My goal is to replace these with fully hand-drawn artwork created by a professional artist.
Generative AI tools were used to refine store descriptions and assist with the translation of certain UI elements to provide a better experience for international players. All visual assets and core gameplay mechanics are original creations.
AI generated content was used during development for concept art, promotional graphics, marketing materials, and placeholder assets.
The game does not use live AI generated content during gameplay.
A few images have been generated, where it make sense that the AI in the game would use generic stock photos, but the overwhelming majority of art is handmade.
American Football Coach utilises artificial intelligence to randomise players and finances at the start of each game load, for the gameplay of each individual match, the questions posed by the media and the occasional random event, which can effect your finances and prestige positively or negatively.
Dead Reckoning is written, and designed by one person. I want to be precise about where AI tools do and don't appear in it.
Creative content — no generative AI. All writing, narrative, and design is mine. I've worked as a technical writer for twelve years; the game's voice is my own. All art and visual assets are hand-made or licensed from named human artists. All music and sound effects are licensed from named human creators (public domain / Creative Commons) — none of it is AI-generated. This is a hard line and I intend to keep it.
Development & release tooling — where AI assists. I use AI in the engineering and release pipeline only, never to author the game itself:
- Coding assistance while writing the game's GDScript.
- An automated QA/test harness that plays the simulation thousands of times to catch crashes and balance regressions.
- Assistance in building linters (Valve YAML sheets) that check the project's text.
- Drafting and summarizing the release notes (patch notes) from the project's changelog.
None of this creates any of the writing, art, audio, or design inside the game.
Localization. The four translations (German, French, Italian, Spanish) are machine-translated by DeepL from my English source, with automated guards that fall back to English wherever a translation would break. This is an accessibility vs. quality decision, and I decided on the former. Proper localizations are planned and will be contracted out if the budget allows.
