Public Steam disclosure research 26,833 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
Our game uses AI only for pre-rendered content, such as promotional images and minor art touch-ups. No AI is used during gameplay. All gameplay, writing, characters, and systems are fully handcrafted.
Generative AI is used extensively in making Dungeon Flop, including programming, artwork, writing, game content, and store artwork and text. The game contains AI-generated and AI-assisted material. I provide the direction, choose what to use, revise and combine results, and integrate and test them in the project. Human decisions and manual work are part of that process, alongside substantial AI contributions. The AI-created content shipped with the game is prepared during development. The game does not include a live generative AI service or require an AI subscription to play. Players can optionally use their own separate AI tools to help create local mod files and images, use the included editors themselves, or combine both approaches.
Illustration images created using AI
“The only AI-generated asset used in the game is the studio logo. All other assets are original or manually created.”
You talk to characters in the game using a local LLM. There is no cost for tokens, and the model responds in a fun and interesting way. Art in the game is also AI generated (and you can generate your own art to decorate your apartment).
Some visual assets in this game were initially created by hand and then partially refined using AI-assisted tools. AI was used only for enhancement purposes. All core artwork, designs, and creative direction were produced manually.
This game uses AI to generate most of the images, as well as other assets and code.
sample demo has 3d models from sketchfab, and chatgpt has generated few png files. It's of course possible to drag and drop any png/jpg/glb files from the AI tools to the builder tool.
Some visual assets in this game were created with the help of AI tools and then reviewed and refined by the developer. The game itself does not use live AI features or generate new content during gameplay.
Game audio, video, and a small portion of artistic content are produced with AI assistance.
Some of the images were assisted in their creation by AI.
This game uses AI-generated content for creating digital human characters. Some in-game assets, including character models and animations, were created with the assistance of AI tools during development.
Design of backgrounds was AI-assisted
Artificial intelligence has been used to generate pre-created content for the store page, marketing materials, and community assets.
AI is used to translate the store page.
Generative AI is used only for pre generated assets: Voice lines in the indoctrination video (also used in the trailer) and the game’s logo in store materials. No AI is used at runtime, and all other content is handcrafted.
During the development process, we may use procedural- and AI-based tools to assist with content creation. In all such cases, the final product reflects the creativity and expression of our own development team.
We have utilized AI-assisted design for the store materials and some 2D background images within the game. However, these are not purely AI-generated; they are based on our original photographs that were enhanced using AI technology, and subsequently refined manually to ensure quality.
AI-assisted tools were used during development to help generate early visual concepts and assets. These were then refined, reworked, and integrated by the developer to support the game’s atmosphere.
The main menu song was created with the help of artificial intelligence.
Some graphical assets are generated with AI.
Some videos and images in this game are generated using artificial intelligence. AI tools were used to enhance visual effects and create unique scenes, carefully aligned with the game's art style.
AI art sucks. AI dialouge sucks. AI coding is pretty good. I have been an artist for many years long before AI arrived and I enjoy doing my own artwork and writing my own dialouge. For art I use referencing from photos, stocks and my own workflows. I use Photoshop to manipulate and retro tools to do the pixel based stuff. Occasionally, I will use AI if I feel that it would benefit my projects, and I have here to do the placeholders, which I am replacing as the development continues. I have used Codex to create custom based engines which I am then using to create everything by eye, and by hand. You can see this entire process over on my YouTube Channel (youtube.com/@civitasuniverse) - where I build the BBSes, the mini-games, the tunes, and write all of the dialogue. I am loving the music creation side, as a musician, I am writing original arps, basslines and melodies using the VST Tyrell N6 in FLStudio and adding voices with ElevenLabs for voice changing, and Suno and NotebookLM for the pirate radio-show material. Please understand that I am using AI, but not how you might think. For complete transparency, do watch my devlogs on YouTube and follow me on social media (see links on this page) for daily updates, as I build the game. My goal here is for you to understand my working practices and the ridiculous effort I am putting into GLYPHIS_IO, along with hopefully inspiring you to maybe start, or finish, something yourself. Cheers!
We use AI-generated images for our card characters.
Some aspects of Steam store page artwork was made using help from AI.
In the creation of music and sound effects, we made use of AI-assisted tools. However, all AI-generated materials were further refined and processed manually; none were used in their raw form. Aside from the audio elements mentioned above, all other content in the game is entirely handcrafted and does not involve AI generation.
AI assisted tools used on the backgrounds
Game Logo is created by AI.
Our game uses light AI systems to enhance the fun — not to replace creativity. In Sketch Royale, players are the true artists. The AI simply helps by generating fun, random drawing prompts (like “a penguin playing basketball” or “space sushi chef”) and managing matchmaking, scoring, and moderation. The drawings themselves are 100% created by players using in-game tools — no AI image generation or automated artwork is used. The goal is to keep the experience creative, social, and entirely human-driven, with AI acting as a playful game host rather than the artist.
This title uses generative AI tools (such as Stable Diffusion) during development to create some 2D character images, background images, and promotional images used on the store page. All AI-generated images are manually edited and reviewed by the developer before being included in the product. The application also includes an optional conversation feature that can operate using either the OpenAI API or a local LLM configured by the user. However, no new content is generated while the application is in use.
This work uses illustrations created by a generative AI (Midjourney) in part.
AI was only used to create the main menu background image.
Some of the fictional imagery.
In this game, we use AI for refactoring and debugging the program code, as well as for the background images and background music.
Assets such as icons, 3D-models, portraits, music and sound effects contains artwork created with the help of generative AI. These assets have been carefully edited and reviewed to ensure they align with the game's visual style and quality.
I automatically translated the game using AI for support in a total of 26 languages: Bulgarian, Chinese, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian, Vietnamese, etc.. Game & the store page in all languages except Korean and English were translated using AI. Translation errors may exist, so please always let me know on the discord server and help me fix them!

Sound effects, 3D assets, store art, code
AI Content is used to generate Artwork for the Cards only. Currently through crowdsourcing, I am hoping to hire an artist to update and redo all the card artwork. If successful, then all AI generated images will be removed.
Some sound effects and portions of the music soundtrack were created using AI-assisted audio tools. AI is used only as a creative aid for generating and polishing audio assets; it does not affect gameplay, player data, or in-game decision making.
AI generated graphics assets for the marketplace
The content in the game is planned and designed manually, assisted by generative AI tools, and finally processed and completed by humans.
The development process involved AI-assisted proofreading and a third-party plugin for AI translation.
Translation Arcade game monitor texture
AI was used to assist in creating film visuals and capsule images for the game’s store page. All AI-assisted assets were reviewed and refined to match the game’s style.
Almost all of the game is hand-made art and code, but A.I. has been used to create concepts and is used in the workflow to quickly get ideas for logos or assets. The voice overs are currently all a.i. generated but will be replaced at an later point.
This game uses AI for localization into foreign languages.
The images for the page have been slightly improved.
In our project, AI was used to partially create art assets, helping our artists bring some ideas to life.
The images, sounds, and videos in the game are generated by AI. The prompts, writing, code, and editing are done by HypeTales21.
