Where do games disclose AI use?
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across
games, and follow recorded changes.
This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to
statements published on individual store pages.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam.
Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
AI use was minimal and limited to non-gameplay elements, such as generating some in-game audio, assisting with draft texts, and providing a rough sketch for the initial logo concept.
All gameplay, design, and final assets were created and refined by hand.
Tropicalypse and AI
In Tropicalypse, our primary focus is to deliver an engaging, immersive experience for players. AI is not used in the game mechanics, story design, or player interactions. Instead, we utilize AI tools solely for creating high-quality marketing materials, such as promotional visuals, descriptions, and campaign strategies. This ensures that all in-game content is crafted directly by our development team to maintain a personal, hand-designed touch. Our use of AI is purely external and aims to enhance how we present Tropicalypse to the world, without affecting the authenticity of your gameplay experience.
PAATH-Z embraces cutting-edge technology by incorporating AI-generated images to enhance the game’s immersive atmosphere. AI was utilized to create intricate creature textures, detailed panel backgrounds, and striking static imagery, adding depth and realism to the world and advertising. These AI-driven elements complement the design process, bringing a unique visual style that captures the eerie and intense nature of the PAATH-Z universe, while maintaining the creative vision of the development team.
We are a small independent studio, and to optimize our time and focus on the core of the game, we used Artificial Intelligence only to create a few minor graphical elements. Everything else — from gameplay to art direction to writing — is the result of our work, our passion, and countless hours of development. Thank you for your support!
The game's store page images and library visuals were created using AI tools (e.g., StableDiffusion). These visuals were generated during the development process and are static assets, the same for all players.
The game does not include any live-generated AI content. All in-game assets are pre-designed and do not involve dynamic AI generation based on player input.
I use AI and machine translation for text translations within the game and on the store page (The original text is written by a human), as well as resolving some programming processes (less than 1% of total codes), but these are followed by human review and correction of the content. I have not used AI for any graphics assets or BGM resources.
- The rest of the game (game design, code, visual assets, story, text, etc.) was not created using generative AI.
- The AI does not participate in real-time gameplay and does not generate content for the user.
Some promotional materials, including the trailer banner and capsule image, were created using generative AI tools. All in-game content—such as visuals, audio, and gameplay assets—are entirely handcrafted or sourced without AI generation.
Some promotional images on the store page were generated or enhanced using AI tools. These assets are only used for marketing purposes and do not reflect in-game content.
This is the first survival game where npc's think they are really alive. This game is connected to artificial intelligence and enables NPCs to answer any questions you may have within the framework of the game.
This game does not use generative AI to produce content during gameplay.
Some AI tools were used during development (i.e., code drafting, proofreading, and asset prototyping), but all core game content was created and finalized by human developers.
This game uses artificial intelligence only for narrative content creation.
All dialogue, descriptions, and text were generated with the help of AI during development, with manual review to ensure quality, cohesion, and originality.
AI is not used in real time during gameplay and does not interact directly with the player. All final content was carefully integrated into the game before release.
This game uses AI language models to help refine certain quests with a tone that matches the game's narrative universe and to provide accurate translations for languages we don't speak natively. All AI-assisted content is reviewed and approved by the development team before being included in the game.
As we are indie developers, we use some generative ai tools image generator or ai chatbots, to get birds eye view of how the game will look like, and to create a better plan for our game, then we created the content ourselves.
AI was used for some icons, all music and the loading screen. These are just placeholders until I either learn to create content that can replace or gain enough funding to hire someone to.
Some base art assets and music tracks in our game were initially created using AI tools as a foundation, but have been significantly modified and enhanced by our development team. We do not use any real-time AI generation during gameplay. All AI-generated content has been carefully curated, edited, and integrated into the final game design to ensure quality and consistency.
AI-generated images are used for game and store page images.
