Where do games disclose AI use?
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across
games, and follow recorded changes.
This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to
statements published on individual store pages.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam.
Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
This game was written and designed by humans. Generative AI was only used as a support tool, such as checking language, streamlining text, and optimizing visuals. All creative choices and content come from the developer.
AI is used to power the in-game assistant character, providing dynamic dialogue and context-aware guidance during gameplay. The AI generates helpful hints, tutorial information, and gameplay tips based on your current situation. All AI-generated content is limited to gameplay assistance only and cannot produce inappropriate or copyrighted material.
The game's store capsule image was created using AI tools. This is limited to promotional artwork only and does not affect the gameplay or in-game content.
🎵 In our game, AI is used exclusively for content creation:
• character voice generation,
• sound effects creation,
• background music writing.
AI does not affect gameplay, balance or decision making in the game. All story elements, mechanics and visual content are developed manually.
We used AI tools to generate sound effects, music and voice-overs, but this content is pre-rendered and does not change dynamically during gameplay. No AI is used to live-generate content or code during gameplay.
All in-game content is developed in-house by the developer.
For certain in-game content, when newly acquiring retro game cartridges, installation videos generated by AI and post-processed are played.
AI Assistant helped generate store capsule art and in-game music. Technical assistance was also provided with implementation of some game systems allowing a solo dev to punch above their weight.
Currently in our Menu Screens we are using AI Background Images as place holders for Real Images that we will create. The placeholders serve well for now and we will eventually end the use of AI for anything.
Do you use AI to generate pre-rendered content for your game, its store page, marketing materials, and/or community assets?
Yes, I've used AI to generate the images (logo, banner) for the store page.
------------------
In my game, I use AI to generate voice lines. For example, when a player presses a specific key (shortcut), it triggers an audio file that was created using AI-generated voice.
AI should not take away people's jobs and turn paintings into posters, which is why DarkShine is developed as much as possible by human hands and their exuberant artistic impulses. In some rare moments, such as improving blurred textures and mechanical issues, it acts as an assistant where it is necessary to write a complex system with complex and comprehensive code without involving highly paid specialists. The majority of the game is the work of a living person with all their small achievements and mistakes.
In the development of the game, generative AI models were employed for the following purposes:
Generating reference imagery and concept sketches for 3D character and environment designs
Producing prototype visuals for certain user-interface (UI) elements
Facilitating rapid, consistent translation of in-game text for multilingual support
All AI-generated assets were rigorously reviewed by our team to ensure originality and meet quality standards; manual refinements were applied where necessary. No real-time content generation, gameplay logic, or code creation relies on AI during runtime.
Some visual elements, such as button icons and store page artwork, were created using AI-assisted tools. These assets were edited and customized to fit the game’s style. No gameplay content or story elements were generated by AI.
During our development process, we utilized generative AI as a powerful tool in areas such as 3D modeling and character design. All AI-assisted content in our game was finalized and integrated by our team as static assets before the game's release. No real-time or dynamic content is generated by AI during gameplay. This technology helped our team bring our game world to life more efficiently and creatively.
Promotional artwork for R.E.M. Rage was created using AI-assisted tools. These assets are used solely for marketing purposes and do not reflect the in-game visuals or assets, which were created manually.
As an indie project developed purely out of passion and without any funding, we have used artificial intelligence to generate some of the game's images and voice lines, as we currently lack a team of professional artists or voice actors. However, if the game gains traction and development continues, these assets may be replaced with the work of real artists and industry professionals.
Some visuals and text were created using AI tools during development.
This includes pre-rendered assets such as UI elements, environmental images, and some text used.
I'm a one-person developer. That means I do everything; and some of it I'm just bad at. I use AI as a tool to cover the gaps: the tasks I hate, the stuff I'd waste hours on just to replace later. The tools don't make the art. Every idea and decision, everything that made it into this game came from me.
AI tools were used to assist in creating promotional content such as concept art and store visuals.
All gameplay, character design, and video previews were created manually in the game engine without the use of AI-generated content.
During the development process, I may use procedural and AI-based tools to assist with content creation. In all cases, the final product reflects my own creativity and expression.
