Public Steam disclosure research 25,508 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
We have some assets made with AI that we are still working on replacing. Replacing these is our top priority!
All game elements are developed with the support of ai tools like ChatGPT.
All music was generated by AI. Anything not covered up with an effect was touched up by AI. We created the original concepts in Piskel. Ai assisted with some aspects of coding/refactoring/debugging. The image in our store media, with the 3 ships, was generated using AI based on our in-game enemy ships and the players "elite" ship. Everything else was created using Canva.
Certain visual assets used in the game were created or modified with the assistance of generative AI tools. These assets include some promotional artwork, icons, textures, and cosmetic images. All AI-generated content was reviewed and edited by the developer before inclusion in the game. No AI-generated content is produced during gameplay.
Generative AI tools were used during parts of the development process for concept exploration, visual reference generation, and early-stage artwork ideation. All final in-game content, gameplay systems, and implementation were reviewed, modified, and integrated by the developer.
A few in game images and the cover were AI generated using Microsoft's Co-Pilot AI. Nothing in game involves AI. The enemy patterns are enemy movement behavior logic like the old days. In time I might make the images myself. This is just saving me a lot of time. I am not a studio, just one dude.
A few visual assets are hand-drawn but most of the assets were created by either Perchance or ChatGPT and then heavily cleaned/edited in photoshop by myself to fit into the game. Music was created by Suno and edited in Audacity. Coding was done from scratch, no AI used in that at all.
AI was used to generate a few minor quest item icons. All other assets, code, and character designs are handcrafted or licensed.
We used generative AI tools to assist with drafting and localizing store page text. All AI-assisted text is reviewed and edited by our team before publication. The game does not use live-generated AI content during gameplay.
Only minor voice effects in the game were generated using AI tools. No AI-generated gameplay, narrative, music, or visual content is included.
In our game, some sections of code are generated by artificial intelligence, a common practice among developers and quality assurance engineers. Some images are also generated by artificial intelligence.
Most artwork is hand-drawn. AI-generated assets were used as prototypes and later modified manually.
All background music and translation/localization were made using AI.
Some game & marketing assets are developed with developer curated AI-assisted workflows.
Part of visual make with AI
The English voice acting was created using generative AI technology
Generative AI tools were used to assist in the creation of certain promotional images, store page artwork and trailer visuals. All gameplay systems, game design decisions, implementation and final game content were created, reviewed and integrated by the developer.
Logo generation
Some parts of the soundtrack and certain voice lines were created using AI.
AI was used to create the store banners. In-game screenshots and videos accurately reflect the actual gameplay.
Generative AI tools were used during development to assist with early concept art, visual ideation, logos, and certain promotional materials. All final in-game content and gameplay implementation were curated, edited, and integrated by the developers.
Generative AI used for only localization on interfaces and subtitles.
Some textures and mesh concepts were initially generated using AI-assisted tools. All assets have been significantly modified, refined, and integrated manually using 3d software. The developer is working to rid the game of AI generated content come launch.
The game features AI-generated images as some store assets and some in-game artworks.
Regarding the AI disclosure, we would like to clarify the specific scope of AI usage in our game: 1. Asset Generation (Pre-generated AI Content): We have utilized generative AI tools exclusively for creating static assets. Specifically, AI was used to generate in-game icons, background images, and the store page assets (capsule images/banners). No real-time AI generation occurs during gameplay. 2. In-Game CPU Behavior (Non-AI): The NPC/CPU behavior and logic within the game are strictly controlled by standard programming using conditional statements (if-then statements) and random number generation (RNG). No AI or machine learning models are used for the gameplay mechanics or enemy logic.
Only in the field of art production, AI is used to assist in the creation of 2D images.
Some game images and few graphics assets
Realm of Balls was developed with the help of generative AI tools during production, but the game does not include live AI-generated content for players.
Some music uses AI
This game utilises Google's Gemma4 E2B large language model to generate narration text based on human-curated datasets.
The developing side of the game uses AI to communicate ideas to the Art side of the project, none of the AI generated images enter the game.
This game uses AI tools during development to assist with the creation of certain 3D models and prototyping. All gameplay design, final programming, balancing, creative direction, and system integration were carried out by the developer.
Code review and optimization; Some texture/sample generation
We used AI for the game store page. And AI tools for the game development.
AI tools were used during the localization process and then manually reviewed by a human. All in-game and promotional art was authored by a person and not made with generative AI.
There are currently images that are AI generated. We are currently working on getting artwork done by artists to replace it.
AI as part of modern development workflows
Both manual coding and coding using generative AI is included in this game. Some UI images were developed using generative AI as well as some in level images in the final level. Store presence images were developed using generative AI.
Some AI-assistance was used during the development of this game.
Some visual assets, promotional images, and text elements were created with the assistance of generative AI tools. The gameplay itself does not use live AI-generated content.
Help with localization and some coding assistance.
Generative AI tools were used to create images, audio, and text materials used in the game and on the store page. Generated materials are reviewed, selected, edited, and adjusted by the developer before use. The game does not include any feature that live-generates AI content during gameplay.
This game uses generative AI to assist with the translation of some localization text. The content has been reviewed and edited by the developer.
TRANSLATIONS in store page and in-game have been generated with artificial intelligence. These translations are FULLY OPTIONAL to use and you can experience the full game without any artificial intelligence by playing in the English language. I wanted to give people the possibility to experience the game in their native language, which is why this decision was made.
Images displayed in the Steam library uses AI generated images.
We use generative AI in a limited capacity for certain visual and written content. Generative AI may be used for: - Marketing materials, including promotional artwork, trailer graphics, and store page content. - Loading screen images and decorative in-game poster artwork. - Assistance with some written text, such as tutorials and informational content. Generative AI is not used for: - Live content generation during gameplay. - Gameplay screenshots shown on the Steam store page. - Maps, level geometry, character models, weapons, gameplay assets, game mechanics, or networking systems. - Player-generated content.
Some artwork in Capyverse Odyssey was created with assistance from generative AI tools and further refined, polished, and modified by the studio’s artists and development team. Final gameplay systems, design, programming, and core game content are developed by Metazooie Studios.
This game uses generative AI to assist with the creation of pixel art assets (character sprites, projectiles, icons, capsule art) and to support code development. All generated content was reviewed, integrated, and finalized by the developer. No AI is used at runtime — every asset is pre-generated and baked into the build. No player data is sent to AI services during gameplay.
Used for Steam visuals.
AI is used to speed up the prototyping process. All final content is being made manually.
