Public Steam disclosure research 25,508 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
Generative AI tools were used to assist in creating some of this game’s art assets.
Some of the UI elements in the game were generated by AI, and the images on the store pages were also generated by AI.
I have used AI generated art work for some of the game artwork and all of the Steam Store Front artwork. All the code is all my own work.
The content in the game is planned and designed manually, assisted by generative AI tools, and finally processed and completed by humans.
We use generative AI tools in parts of our development process, primarily to assist with creating 3D character models and visual/UI design assets. All AI-generated content is reviewed, edited, and integrated by our team.
AI DISCLOSURE Crown of the Vermillion Devil uses AI-generated imagery for its location artwork. All writing, game design, systems, music, and narrative content are original human-authored work. We are a small independent project and have been transparent about this from the start. If that affects your purchasing decision, we respect it.
Some assets in this game were created with the assistance of generative AI, including character artwork, localization content, icons, and promotional materials. All AI-generated content has been reviewed and modified by the developer before being used in the game.
The game code was developed with the assistance of generative AI, and part of the game assets are AI-generated.
This game uses generative AI tools during development to create or assist with some pre-generated content. This includes code assistance, visual asset creation, and music creation. Generative AI tools are used to assist with programming during development, to create or assist with character artwork, background artwork, store page graphics, Steam community assets, and marketing materials, and to create or assist with background music. AI-assisted assets and code are reviewed, edited, and integrated by the developer before release. The game does not use generative AI to generate real-time content during gameplay, and players do not directly interact with a generative AI system. The “combat AI” described in the game is a gameplay system that controls enemy behavior and tactical decision-making. It is not generative AI.
The game uses artificial intelligence to control characters behavior and deliver an adaptive fairytale plot. The models, sounds, maps, and other assets are created by real people, with love and care.
We use generative artificial intelligence to generate image and sound production process.
Artificial intelligence (AI) was leveraged for key aspects of the game's development, including in-game logic, support systems, and certain artistic assets.
AI was used to create banner images and promotional material for the game
Ashen Crown was built almost entirely with the help of generative AI. The game's code was written through conversation with an AI assistant (Claude), with me directing, correcting, testing, and deciding what the game should be. All in-game visuals are drawn in code rather than created by an artist, and the sound and music were generated with AI as well. No third-party art, audio, or text assets were used. AI was a tool throughout development; the design, direction, and final decisions are mine.

AI-Generated Content Disclosure: Artificial intelligence technology was utilized during the development of this game to assist in the creation of in-game background art and certain cutscenes.
Some background and environmental artwork in this game was created with the assistance of generative AI and then reviewed, edited, and integrated by the developer. All story content, dialogue, characters, and game design were created by the developer.
We used generative AI tools in a limited capacity during development: some store page descriptions and marketing texts were drafted with AI assistance and finalized with human editing. Some non-Chinese localization texts were translated using AI and reviewed by humans. All core gameplay, programming, and level design were created by the developers. Some in-game artwork / background music was created with the assistance of generative AI tools.
All core assets originate from the creativity of our human artists. The use of AI tools is strictly limited to assisting and refining the environmental background designs.
AI generated graphical elements in some UI AI supported localized language translation
Generative AI is only used to assist in generating some game assets.
This game's development uses generative AI tools in the following ways: Image assets: generating some artwork and image materials (directed and curated by the developer; final design decisions and adjustments are made by a human). Coding: assisting with implementation and development (design decisions and final code review are done by a human). No content is generated by AI at runtime.
This game uses AI-generated artwork.
Digital assets such as sprites, SFX and music use generative AI.
Art assets in this game, such as achievement icons, were created with the assistance of GPT-based image generation tools. The background music was composed using Suno AI. All AI-generated content has been reviewed and approved by human developers.
The game to contain art assets generated by artificial intelligence
The promotional images, image graphics, and library asset images of the game are rendered using AI, with the main elements being in-game content and only rendering the atmosphere. Other game models, scenes, and music did not use AI.
Ai was solely used in the creation of capsule art. The artwork is a stylized version of a rendered 3D image directly from Unity.
Generative AI was used to assist with the general coding of this game.
Cogfall was developed solo by Nodding Panda Studios. To bring the steampunk Clockwork Kingdom to life, AI tools were used to generate artwork and music under the creative direction of the developer. Every image and track was intentionally prompted, selected, and refined to fit the game's vision — AI served as a creative tool, not a replacement for creative decisions. All gameplay systems, code, game design, writing, and balancing were created entirely by the developer.
AI tools were only used in the development phase for code, textures, texts, audio and music production. There is no player-accessible AI generation feature or external AI service connection in the released game, and all built-in content has passed full manual compliance review.
We use AI tools to create promotional materials for the game.
Some of the Generals' portraits were created using AI.
Some animations and effects use AI
AI tools were used to assist with parts of the game's code, the drafting of narrative and dialogue content, and initial translations of in-game and store page text. All AI-assisted output has been reviewed and edited by the development team.
The game has AI-generated content - Images in the banners on the page - Images during the game - Translations and editing support
This game uses generative AI during development for pre-rendered visual assets, store capsule and library artwork, icons, textures, and supporting marketing images. AI-generated material is reviewed and edited before inclusion. The game does not generate AI content for players during gameplay.
The Heretic's Seal uses generative AI for some pre-rendered art assets, including character portraits, enemy and NPC illustrations, world map and biome backgrounds, and select promotional video clips. As a one-person studio, AI tooling lets a single developer ship dungeon-crawler-scale art volume. All gameplay systems, game design, narrative writing, code, level design, and runtime visuals are created by the developer. No AI runs during gameplay — every system, decision, and reaction in-game is hand-crafted code.
Players can freely converse with NPCs, and the game generates dialogue in real time based on the NPCs’ personalities and memories. The main storyline will be handled by AI agents, which will generate plots consistent with the game’s world-building. AI assists in creating CG scenes, background images, and character portraits.
We currently use AI for some of the audio dialogue as well as some of the placeholder 2D art assets. Our goal is to get art made for these where possible and we already have a voice actor and musician on board who is working on our audio.
In the development of this game, generative AI tools are used in the processes of programming code assistance and multilingual text translation to improve efficiency and quality.
Generative AI tools were used in a supporting role during certain parts of the development of this game. Their primary uses included programming assistance (such as code generation and debugging), the creation of some image assets used on the Steam Store page and in the game, the creation of source material for some background music and sound effects, and assistance with the translation and refinement of certain text. AI-generated image and audio materials were not used as-is. The development team reviewed all such materials and, where necessary, retouched, cropped, color-corrected, resized, adjusted, or otherwise edited them to ensure they were suitable for the game. Any text for which generative AI was used to assist with translation or wording was reviewed by the development team for context and accuracy, and revised as necessary before being used. We understand that some players may have questions or concerns about the use of generative AI, and that it may be an important factor when deciding whether to purchase or play a game. By describing the extent of its use in this title as clearly as possible, we hope to provide helpful information for making that decision. Please note that generative AI is not used during gameplay to generate new text, images, audio, dialogue, quests, or other game content in response to player input.
We utilize generative AI for most of our artwork and some of our music. A little (5%) of the game was coded with AI assistance - this includes sdk integrations mostly for steam API.
Some of the character art and backgrounds are based on images created with AI. These are used only as a basis to start from and are then heavily edited manually by our art team to make them fit the visual style of the game — the final product reflects the creativity and expression of our own development team.
We have carefully crafted a complete set of NPC dialogue without the use of AI. At the same time, we are experimenting with an additional feature powered by AI large language models, allowing players to freely converse with their favorite NPCs. This is an exploratory feature that exists entirely separately from the traditional game content. These experimental elements are intended to offer players a new additional experience and will not affect the complete single-player experience. Whether this feature will be included in the final release has not yet been decided. Even if it is ultimately implemented, it will be optional rather than required.
This game uses generative AI to assist with parts of the creative process, including some artwork, voice/audio content, written text, localization, and marketing materials. AI-assisted content is reviewed, edited, and selected by the developer before being included in the game. The overall story direction, game design, character concepts, and final creative decisions are made by the developer.
This game uses AI-generated and AI-assisted content as part of its creative process. AI Slop: TCG exists because of a very specific idea: taking the weird, imperfect, grotesque, and absurd look of what people call “AI slop” and turning it into a roguelike card game full of satire, dark humor, and creatures that probably should not exist. That is why AI has mainly been used to create and develop the creature illustrations for the cards. It is not an accidental extra or some hidden shortcut: it is part of the game’s concept, lore, and visual identity. Without that mutant digital-trash aesthetic, the project would lose a big part of what makes it work. AI has also been used as support for visual ideation and production, which is especially important for a game being made by a solo developer. The game does not generate AI content in real time during gameplay. All included content has been reviewed, selected, edited, and manually integrated by the developer.
The developer describes how this game uses generative AI as follows: Visual Assets: Some character illustrations, background art, and UI icons in this game have been created or enhanced using generative AI tools.
Character art and event scene illustrations in this game were created using AI image generation tools. All generated images were curated, edited, and refined by the developer to produce the final in-game assets. No AI content is generated in real time during gameplay.
Some of the image assets in this game were created using generative AI.
