Public Steam disclosure research 25,380 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
All illustrations were generated by AI.
AI was used to reduce time investment in illustration art. The AI art can be seen in various UI elements where illustrations are present. Please note, all of the AI art you see wasn't merely generated and thrown into the game, it obviously needed a fairly extensive degree of retouching.
Just used AI to help draft my answers, then I review them to make sure they are appropriate for what it is drafting answers for on the storepage. I have also used AI to help me build some functions in the game for determining the calculations for player stats such as temperature and stomach system.
As a solo developer, AI has assisted with voice acting, allowing me to bring my vision to life more efficiently and effectively.
We use AI-based tools to assist in the creation of specific static User Interface (UI) assets. This includes inventory icons, status effect indicators (such as hunger and panic alerts), and the background artwork for the 'Quit Game' confirmation screen. All AI-generated assets were manually reviewed, edited, and integrated to fit the game's overall aesthetic. The core game environments and character models are human-created
Used for creating the game banner
In the interest of transparency, illustrations were created with the help of AI-assisted tools, used as creative support within a human-led artistic process.
Artwork placeholders
Some textures, 3D models and audio assets were enhanced or made using AI tools.
Some of the game's images were generated by AI and then modified. AI was not used in any part of the gameplay. Only certain images on the store page and in the prologue involved the use of AI.
Dev uses generative AI tools to help develop some in game assets.
AI has been used for music on radios, and for some voice lines
AI art is used as placeholder for cards who's artwork is not yet finished. We are regularly replacing artwork with hand made artwork. The final product won't have any ai or placeholder artwork.
A very few in-game assets (in game image and less than 5 icons) were ai-generated first and then reworked by a human to match with Seven Cities lore.
The game features a small local language model used to generate dynamic storylines and events based on character traits and relationships. Generative AI is also used to assist in the creation of various 2D textures, marketing materials, portraits and UI elements.
AI is only used to augment and adjust real voice acting.
Usage of some AI generated images
Ai was used to create the castle that is shown in the Key Art for marketing. The rest of the In game art was made by hand
AI was used to generate some in-game images.
Some in-game assets are developed with the help of generative AI tools
Some elements of the game’s artwork and text have been created with the help of generative AI.
Localisation Text for certain language options in the game were generated using the shear power of AI models to produce, no doubt, horrible/humourous/confusing results. This is Temporary!, with updates coming in the future, If anyone wishes to provide translations/corrections, please do get in contact :)
Some of the music on the radio is AI generated
Store page is AI generated
The game use AI generated music and some pictures generated by AI.
Generative AI is used during development to prototype the voice acting. Expect professional voice acting quality by the full release.
We want to emphasize that both human-art and AI-generated content are used in the event illustrations. At the time of writing this (pre-beta), some of the illustrations in the game are still early experiments and, as such, treated as placeholders. As artists, we fully understand that AI-generated imagery is a controversial topic at the moment. We felt that by using generated art, in addition to our own art, we could create a much more vivid and immersive experience for the player. We are fully open to discussing this further and elaborating on our approach.
AI backgrounds.
Some content was generated using MidJourney.
Some logos, interfaces and images in the game, as well as on the store page, were pre-generated using artificial intelligence
During the development process, we may use procedural- and AI-based tools to assist with content creation. In all such cases, the final product reflects the creativity and expression of our own development team.
We use licensed artificial intelligence graphics software for some of the 2D images in the game.
AI tools were used in the creation of some of the 2D art.
ai made me voicover because i am too poor to hire actors :(
AI-generated art objects
Some images generated with AI are present in the loading screens and the intro cinematic.
The game uses pre-generated AI voice synthesis for pilot radio chatter and communication officer voice lines.
Use AI for make in game music.
AI used to generate promotional images
Used for creating the game banner
During the development of this game, AI-generative content was used to create auxiliary interface elements, some icons and character voice acting.
Steam page banner was genearted using AI. But no more than that.
I only used AI for the capsule image.
Using «text to speech» to voiceover background characters
Using Midjourney to assist in creating some of the art assets in the game.
I added scenes and images improved with Generative Artificial Intelligence. They are locally generated using Stable diffusion, without resorting to paying any generative AI company. Although paying them could have given me better tools and results, I decided not to pay for their use to support the claim of artists for fair royalties. (It is not possible to discuss such a complex issue here, but I will consider opening a discussion on the topic in the game forum, follow my game to be notified if it is created) Most of the artistic content in the game, mainly music, is compensated in various ways depending on the case to its artists. My original content is registered, but the images generated by AI are essentially treated as 'creative commons' and I consider them fanarts of my characters. All added scenes and backgrounds are of high quality and maintain good coherence, avoiding deformities in hands, eyes, etc., and without annoying or confusing shapes. All AI-generated images are generated, selected, and edited exclusively by me, the creator of the game, to reflect my original vision, previously inaccessible due to high costs. I have sought to include only select content that enriches the narrative and immersion of the game.
The package image of this game was created using multiple AI tools. Part of the background image and background character: Created using Stable Diffusion and provided under the CreativeML Open RAIL-M license. Part of the logo design: Created by Sonic-Alpha using OpenAI's generative AI, "ChatGPT," under the paid "ChatGPT Plus" plan. No AI-generated elements are included in the main game or in-game content.
Uses pre-rendered icons and music
Non-player characters in Catsploration use AI-generated voices, while I voice the narrator.
In this game, the AI character's voice is generated with voice generators.
