Public Steam disclosure research 25,376 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
Translation of game dialogues
In some of the game's cutscenes, we have used AI tools to generate several images to help present the story. These images have been edited and refined to enhance the player's visual experience. We are committed to providing rich content for our players and will continue to leverage innovative technologies to improve the overall game experience.
I just used AI pre-rendered images to create the cover page and monkey illustrations for Steam. The in-game sprites were done using Adobe Illustrator.
Some minor details were created using AI image generation
The newspaper and voice actings are made with AI. Sample voice is my own voice.
South Scrimshaw Part One uses voiced narration synthesized from public domain recordings.
In the development of this game generative AI was used for environment mood boards, 3D model drafts, and soundtrack inspirations. Final in-game assets are all human-curated with purpose and intent.
This game used generative AI for the following elements : -The backgrounds in the game (generated by Lornn, Two Orcs and lehxra, available online) -The representation of Hotel Perkkow (Used in the store and library images)
AI was used to assist with voice modification for certain characters. AI was used to help with soundtrack enhancement and editing. AI was used to create or refine some visual symbols and sigil designs.
Generative AI tools were used during the development of Academy: Become a Hero to create and refine several game assets. The disclosure of its use is as follows: 2D Art and User Interface: All 2D illustrations, UI elements, icons, and menus (including upgrade screens, stage selection, and customization menus) were generated using AI tools and subsequently edited and refined for final integration. 3D Modeling: The main character (Troid) and its skeletal meshes were created using Meshy. We hold a valid commercial license for all content generated and used in the project. Localization: Game localization and translations into all supported languages were performed with the assistance of AI large language models to ensure global accessibility. Audio and Voiceovers: For the introductory cinematic, AI was utilized to modulate and process the developer's original voice recordings to create distinct and characterized voices for the different characters. All AI-generated content has been manually reviewed, corrected, and finalized by the developer to ensure artistic consistency and technical quality.
AI was used to generate textures and images for the User interface. This includes images for buttons, frames, banners, skill icons and item images.
I used it to help with images in the game. No code was used or music creation. All code and concepts of the art direction was by me.
In the localization of multi-language translation of the game, the developer uses translation software to translate the languages of different countries. The translation software describes the use of neural networks for translation, which I think may be related to AI translation; Since the developer does not understand the language of other countries, the developer does not have the funds to hire a professional translator, so the multi-language support is handled by translation software. Please forgive me if this automated translation causes any language offense, and please let me know. I will correct it in time. Sometimes you'll see me write words in English in parentheses, so that the translation software can correctly identify what I'm trying to say; In addition, the developers did not use AI to generate images, audio and other content;
AI images were generated for use on the store page and as loading screens within the game.
Portraits were generated by AI
AI assist in creation of some textures and logos
The English version was originally translated by a human translator (Gray), and was retranslated using ChatGPT in 2026.
The images in the game are collages and/or modified parts of images created by AI. Each image was processed and animated manually by a human. Parts of the images have been redrawn by humans.
The characters where created using IA
Two profile pictures (one of these designs is also used as a decal on a tool), all of the "records" in the main characters room, designs on the vape packaging, and a background image for a vending machine were created with Adobe Generative Fill. The Security Robots and The Coffee Time video use audio generated by TTS Maker. The TOS was templated with AI as a generic TOS and meaningful elements were edited in. The Coffee Drink descriptions are pure, unfiltered, AI corpo-garbage-text. I used AI for these purposes because the uncanny-valley, soulless, style was exactly what I wanted as an art direction. I wanted to depict a future in which the soul of the world has been killed by AI. Making humans create art in the style of AI sounds completely dehumanizing, but you're entitled to your opinion.
Most of the contents of the game are digital board pure hand-drawn, the game in the frame of the painting and store page part of the promotional materials using AI drawings for reference and manual redrawing.
