Where do games disclose AI use?
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across
games, and follow recorded changes.
This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to
statements published on individual store pages.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam.
Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
AI tools were used to support early concept exploration and visual ideation during development.
Artificial intelligence tools were used during development to assist with the creation and processing of audio content, such as sound effects and voice variations.
Some of the game's artwork and marketing materials were created with the help of AI tools. All final assets were curated and refined by our art team to ensure quality and consistency with the game’s style.
Invaders utilizes ChatGPT and Adobe Photoshop AI technologies to design and generate user interface elements and in-game imagery. These tools are used exclusively for creative and illustrative purposes to enhance the visual quality and artistic consistency of the game.
We used generative-AI tools during development for some art and audio, plus AI assistants for code and copy edits. All results were reviewed/edited by us. No in-game or real-time AI; no player data is sent to AI services.
The graphic shows images of units (actions) that are created on the basis of real software features to change development time. Additionally, some functionality was ported from a raw state and refined using AI, and AI is also being used to write several of the core systems. (In the trailer, we also used some AI-generated audio and images.)
Some writing tools and image-generation processes were used alongside our own artwork. We begin with concepts and exploratory art created in-house, and these tools help us produce consistent final assets when needed.
All the image materials in the game are generated using AI, such as soldiers, maps, and backgrounds, but these AI materials have been further processed and are not used directly; they are usually stitched, modified, and so on.
AI tools were used to assist in creating some visual and audio assets. All generated content was reviewed, edited, and curated by the solo developer. 30% of profits will be used to replace AI assets.
Based on our Frontline 1 assets, we've leveraged the innovative capabilities of AI to elevate our visuals by enhancing the graphics for some of the background & art images.
Tutankhamun: Builders of the Eternal is developed by a solo indie developer. It is his first game, representing a labor of love and evoking childhood game favorites. AI-assisted tools were used during development to help create some audio, text, and image assets. All in-game content is static, curated, and manually implemented by the developer. The game does not use live AI generation during gameplay.
This game uses generative AI to assist in the creation of pre-rendered content such as artwork, textures, music, sound effects, and voices. All AI-generated assets are curated, edited, and finalized by the developer to ensure originality and compliance with copyright rules. No live AI generation is available during gameplay. All content included in the final product is fixed and does not allow users to generate new material themselves.
I used AI to help create some of the menu screens and interface graphics, but I’m developing the game entirely on my own. Everything else, from gameplay to units and core content, is all my own work.
Some background images are generated using AI, as well as the images of the department leaders in the game. The voices of a news reporter in the game and the voices in the game trailer and in the educational tutorials (on the tutorial website) are created with the help of AI.
The avatar/image materials of this game are dynamically generated by AI algorithms, combined with deep learning models and art style transfer techniques to ensure that each image is unique and rich in details. AI is only used for creative assistance, and the final content is manually reviewed to ensure compliance with community standards.
While developing the game we used various AI software to generate background images for our levels. Overall, we created more than 20,000 image out of which we selected the ones to be used in this first game release. We then further edited these / combined them in a photo editor to create the final background renderings seen in the game. Some of these images are also visible on the Steam Store page. However, the game itself does not use on-the-fly generative AI while the game is running. All AI images were pre-rendered during the development phase.
We also used AI to generate background music for all levels. We create over two hundred hours of such music, and then edited these to better suite our needs. The game itself does not contain any real time generative AI for music.
Some of the visual assets in this game, primarily character portraits and background art, were created with the assistance of generative AI technology.
This product uses generative AI during development. Specifically, AI was used for:
- Generating background music (BGM)
- Creating translation texts
No AI is executed in real time during gameplay, and it does not affect the player experience.
Some visual assets in the current Early Access build are placeholder concepts used during development. Original artwork is being produced and will replace these assets progressively throughout the Early Access period.
We use AI for both development and creative support. Assets generated by both AI and humans are collaboratively refined by AI and humans before being used in the game.
We used artificial intelligence to create video stories, voice some characters, and enhance the visuals of some units. For the unit images, we used our own assets and then applied AI to improve and stylize them.
In order not to compromise on gameplay mechanics and available content, and provide the richest habitual experience, most animals and card images were generated artificially while focusing on their aesthetics and quality.
We will be recording our own version of each song that was created by suno.com for placeholder music during early access. The game will remain in early access until all songs have been recorded by people.
