Where do games disclose AI use?
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across
games, and follow recorded changes.
This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to
statements published on individual store pages.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam.
Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
Generative AI tools were used during development to assist with the creation of concept art, visual assets, and written content such as descriptions and lore.
All AI-generated materials were reviewed, edited, and finalized by the development team. No AI is used during gameplay, and the game does not generate content in real time.
We are using AI-powered tools in the promotion process of our game. AI plays a supportive role in language translation, store pages, marketing materials, and content creation for community posts.
All AI-generated content is reviewed and improved by our team before finalization.
The following languages are supported using AI translation, with final proofreading and adjustments by the developer.
English · Simplified Chinese · Traditional Chinese
Some text added in updates for other languages also uses AI translation.
AI tools were used as part of the development process to assist with artwork and coding. All final assets and gameplay content are human-curated and implemented.
There is no live AI generation in the game. All maps and characters are hand-crafted. Some audio and a few in-game art elements (such as lore background pages) currently use AI as placeholders and will be replaced as development continues.
This game makes significant use of pre-generated AI content.
Usage Details: Almost all visual 2D assets, specifically character sprites, enemy graphics, many environmental elements, and the title art, were created using generative AI software. The AI served as the primary tool for generating the foundational artwork.
Post-Processing: The generated images were curated and selected, then brought into a consistent format, scaled to the correct size for the game, and assembled into the final sprite sheets.
We confirm that all content used is free of illegal or copyright-infringing material.
This game was developed with AI assistance for programming and code generation. Some marketing graphics and game pictures were created and edited using AI image generation tools. The game itself does not use AI to generate any live content during gameplay. All in-game text, data, and mechanics are pre-written and static.
AI was used to create some character and monster visuals, including sprites and poses.
If the game achieves sufficient success, these visuals are planned to be replaced with artwork made by human artists.
"Generative AI tools were used during the development of this game.
Code: AI was used as a coding assistant to improve development efficiency and debugging.
Art: AI tools were used to generate drafts for some character designs, icons, and background images. All AI-generated assets were manually reviewed, retouched, and polished by the developer to fit the game's style."
The game may utilize artificial intelligence technologies to generate or assist in generating certain visual materials or other multimedia assets for marketing and promotional purposes.
I created achievement logos with AI and store logos with Ai, all in game images are created with actual game play and does not use Ai, game privacy and manual were formatted and verified using Ai.
Some visual assets used in Static Watch were created with the assistance of generative AI tools and then manually edited and integrated by the developer.
Generative AI is not used during gameplay, and no content is generated dynamically or in real time for players.
I use AI to debug my existing code so I don't need to spend time looking at documentation. I also use AI to generate some of the art but not all of it.
As a solo dev, I do not have the skills like many other dev teams. Therefore some parts like the game icon, and the image of the game name, are made with the help of AI.
I do not have any plans to expand beyond that.
During the development of "SHADOW MAZE Descent into Fear", AI tools were used in the following ways:
1. **Design & planning**: ChatGPT was used as a brainstorming assistant for game design ideas, mechanics, and narrative concepts.
2. **Visual concepts**: One initial store capsule image was generated using an AI image tool (Midjourney/DALL-E) during early prototyping. This image has since been replaced with original, human-created artwork and in-game screenshots.
3. **Code assistance**: ChatGPT provided examples and explanations for basic scripting and debugging.
All AI-generated visual content has been removed from the final store page and game build. The current store assets are original or gameplay screenshots. No AI-generated content remains in the publicly available version of the game.
No AI is used in core development. We use AI sparingly for some initial aspects such as toy mock ups - all final models are made by our team. We also use to aid in ideation, some social media graphics, voices, sound track and renders. All core aspects, such as development work, maps, VFX, final toy models and code are done by hand and our development team of 30.
This game utilizes pre-generated AI assets to enhance the immersive atmosphere and production value. Specifically, AI tools were used to assist in the creation of:
Audio: Atmospheric sound effects and character voice-over performances designed to heighten the psychological horror experience.
Promotional Material: Static visual elements and artwork used for marketing purposes.
All AI-generated content has been manually reviewed, curated, and integrated by the development team to ensure it aligns with the game's narrative and artistic vision.
No image in this game is used exactly as produced by an AI without human editing; all images have been modified, reworked, or supplemented manually. The in-game texts and the store page description were partially written with the help of AI tools, then proofread and corrected by a human.
The only use of AI in this game is for generating character voice lines. No gameplay elements, visuals, or other content are AI-generated. The AI voices may be replaced with human voice actors in future updates.
Some promotional images on the Steam store page were created with the assistance of generative AI tools during early visual concept work and were subsequently manually refined.
The game itself does not use generative artificial intelligence.
Some visual assets used in the store page and in-game presentation were initially created with the assistance of AI-based tools and were subsequently manually edited, refined, and integrated by the developer.
AI tools were used only as part of the early creative workflow (such as concept exploration or base imagery). All final assets were curated, modified, and approved by a human developer.
No AI-generated content is created dynamically at runtime, and AI is not used to generate gameplay logic, player interactions, or in-game decisions.
We used AI tools to generate some of the game’s 2D icons, UI artwork, and background music.
All AI-generated assets were reviewed, edited, and integrated manually by the developers.
No real-time AI generation occurs during gameplay, and the game does not send any user data to external AI services.
I want to be fully transparent with you. Some of the visual assets in this game were created with the help of generative AI tools. However, AI was used strictly as a tool, not as a replacement for creativity or craftsmanship.
No image generated by AI was used “as is.” Every asset went through heavy manual modification, repainting, redesigning, compositional changes, color correction, detailing, and integration into the game’s visual language.
I spent hundreds of hours in GIMP reworking compositions, adjusting lighting and color palettes, redrawing shapes and much more.
The final result you see in the game is the outcome of extensive manual work and artistic decisions. I'm not an artist at all, and AI simply helped accelerate early-stage iteration. Without this help the game could not exist.
The game’s design, mechanics, balance, progression systems, and overall vision are entirely human-made.
Thank you for supporting indie development.
