Where do games disclose AI use?
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across
games, and follow recorded changes.
This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to
statements published on individual store pages.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam.
Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
Explore the Universe 2175 uses AI in two distinct ways, and we want to be clear about both.
Real-time simulation (the core of the game). The galaxy is driven by a custom AI system we built ourselves. Faction behavior, MEGABOT's roaming strategy, enemy tactics, and the way wars unfold across sectors are all computed live in our own engine — not generated text or assets. This is procedural and rule-based simulation: the "intelligence" you fight against is real-time decision-making, the same category as the AI in any strategy game, just deeper.
Dialogue is human-written, scripted in advance.
Music and sound are human-created.
Some in-game entity visuals and animations are AI-generated (created during development, not dynamically while you play).
Some marketing and store-page images are AI-generated. Gameplay screenshots are authentic.
No AI-generated content is used to deceive players or misrepresent the game.
Generative AI has been used only for the following things but will be replaced before the full release:
-Voice announcements at the start of the battle
-A few GUI elements and buttons
All character sprites, CGs and UI assets in the game are commissioned and hand-drawn, or self-drawn by the developer.
Currently, background assets are AI-generated placeholders, generated using commercial AI such as Niji Journey to match the overall art style. All content was reviewed and finalized by the developer.
These AI-generated contents will be replaced as soon as the developer has enough budget.
Zuno itself does not use AI in its functionality or gameplay.
During development, some parts of the codebase were created with the assistance of AI coding tools to improve productivity and prototype features.
In promotional materials, a few fictional posters and titles were AI-generated to illustrate how a media library might look, since real copyrighted artwork could not be used.
These AI-generated visuals are used only in marketing materials and do not appear in the app itself.
Botwave: Overclock includes content created with the help of generative AI tools, including some in-game visuals, sound effects, and promotional/store artwork.
All AI-assisted content was reviewed and edited by the developer.
The game does not use AI to generate content in real time during gameplay and does not connect to external AI services while playing.
This game was developed by a solo developer using AI-assisted tools to support parts of the creative and technical workflow, including marketing materials, store page assets, music, and portions of code. All AI-assisted outputs were reviewed, refined, and integrated by the developer.
No AI systems are used to generate content during gameplay.
Some visual elements (paintings and photos) use AI-generated images. All game systems and core mechanics are handcrafted and independent of generative AI.
To focus more on the gameplay itself, some of the icons, sprites and logos have had AI-assisted rendering for the purpose of improving the final artistic presentation to the end user. Text to Speech tools have assisted in the generation of voice audio used within the menus and the main levels of the game.
This game uses generative AI to create some visual assets. These elements make up only a minor part of the overall development. AI was used for store page images and a few thumbnail images in the in‑game scenario selection screen.
In Police Chief we use AI tools to support development in creative ways, never for coding or game logic. AI helps us generate things like:
- logos and design ideas
- Randomized names, reports, and text responses
- Suggestions and advice to improve features
All core gameplay, systems, and programming are made by the development team.
AI is only used to improve content of like callouts, reaction from NPC's etc.
The background art was generated using Midjourney; however, everything else has been hand drawn and coded. As the game develops, the developer is hoping to completely re-do the background art with a professional. Please help him achieve this goal!
AI tools were used only to assist in creating some 2D assets such as the store artwork, promotional images, and achievement icons, as well as to generate a few early design ideas.
No AI systems or models are included or executed within the game.
All logic, and final assets were verified manually. Some mechanics were configurated by AI but verified manually.
AI was used to create rough sketches of the main character, which the artist then used to create the final images.
AI was also used to check and edit the Japanese text.
Generative AI was used to create character and gear designs, which were then edited to create some sprites found in game. AI was also used to create some of the music.
TempusForge Studio has, wherever possible on our budget, supported creators by purchasing assets used in the project. All assets are fully licensed.
I used Ai to help improve my typing speed in certain area's. I laid out the entire game design on a whiteboard prior to making the game, and during the development process I used tips for organization of my global variables and other small improvements to my Visual studio file.
Wanna know what I used Ai most for? "Hey can you move my art down on the screen by 15 pixels?" XD just so I wouldn't have to edit X-Y values so often.
Ai is great at dealing with some of the tedium of programming. :)
This is a Human designed and Human made game, Ai just helped me speed along.
We only used generative AI during development on a limited basis to create early drafts (e.g., environment sketches, UI mockups, and character concept art). All final assets shipped in the game, on the store page, and in marketing materials were further edited, reworked, and reviewed by humans, and they do not infringe copyright, likeness/publicity rights, or trademarks.
During gameplay, the game does not connect to any AI services and does not produce live-generated content; players will not encounter dynamically AI-generated images or text.
Generative AI was used to create a small portion of the in-game soundtrack. Specifically, 3-4 music tracks played via an in-game 'boombox' tool were generated using AI. All other assets, including 3D models, code, and gameplay mechanics, have been created manually without the use of AI.
ARIA‑404: Labyrinth Protocol uses generative AI to create all pre-rendered content, including visuals, voice acting, music, world design, dialogue, & narrative. No AI is used during gameplay. Every element is crafted using a curated blend of AI tools by a solo developer to push the boundaries of interactive storytelling. This approach allows for a mythic, multimedia game experience that will evolve over time with community input.
In SmarterWaysProductions: Andromeda, AI is used to provide intelligent behavior and assistance directly on your PC. The AI analyzes your input and helps with writing text, generating code, organizing tasks, and controlling the desktop.
All processing happens locally on your computer. Your data never leaves your system, and you choose which AI models to use. This gives you a private, versatile tool that adapts to your actions.
AI was used to generate a game icon as well as certain store page graphics. AI was NOT used in the development of the game itself nor is it used during gameplay.
AI has been used for collaborative coding, with full human review of all code. AI may also be used for image generation, video generation, and music/sound generation, with full human review of all generated content.
