Public Steam disclosure research 25,380 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
We use procedural and AI-assisted tools to support content creation. However, all final in-game content is shaped and reviewed by our development team reflecting our own creativity and expression.
The game does not contain AI-generated content. AI-generated content is used just for Steam Images.
A number of assets were generated or assisted/edited/photo-edited with assistance of AI, as well as voice overs.
Used AI to create the capsules for the game's store page and some in-game brush textures for painting on motel walls.
Some of the visuals in the game (movie posters, and some movies) were created using artificial intelligence.
Some store visuals and in-game product visuals were created with artificial intelligence.
This game utilizes generative artificial intelligence (AI) technology to enhance the gaming experience. Specific applications are as follows: 1. Some cutscenes and CG animations are generated with AI assistance. 2. Enemy dialogue interactions and combat behaviors are intelligently driven by a Large Language Model (LLM) deployed in the cloud. 3. Some in-game quests and dynamic event chains are generated in real-time by AI to provide players with a varied and unique gameplay experience. We have taken measures to ensure that AI-generated content complies with safety regulations.
- Voiceovers and animations - Various graphic elements
Some graphic content on the store page was generated with Artificial Intelligence. In the game, some graphic images, the paintings hanging around the house, and the voice acting are created with Artificial Intelligence.
Some of the posters were created using generative AI (Adobe Firefly). All of the music tracks were created using generative AI (Suno AI). The translations were created using generative AI (ChatGPT, DeepL Translate).
Photos of achievements are generated with AI
We are using AI-assistance for our store visuals and some in-game props in our pipeline
We use AI to create store page and some in-game render assets
The advanced AI engine in “Digital Humans” allows the digital characters to converse with you in a natural and contextual way. Whether you want to have an in-depth discussion or just chat, the AI adapts to your conversational needs and always provides relevant and entertaining answers. Please note that the AI can occasionally generate information that does not correspond to reality. These so-called “hallucinations” are rare, but occur. We recommend that you question such information critically and consult reliable sources on important topics.
Shop Capsule Art and In-Game Pictures
I have used AI for generating some of the UI elements such as Buttons, Icons and Shapes in the Game. In addition, I have used AI for generating some of the visuals (Like Capsule Image, etc...) of Store Page.
Hand tweaked and adjusted Midjourney AI renders have been used for generating certain in game background graphics, marketing materials and cover. Deepvoice has been used for multiple ingame announcers(ie commercials, news etc)
The game build of Hawthorn does not include generative AI content. Due to lack of resources and funding, early marketing materials are in use that were created with a mix of generative AI and human art. However, NEARstudios is actively working to replace those promotional materials. Hawthorn will not ship with generative AI content.
Our game does not use AI in gameplay, character behavior, or system design. A small portion of the game's artwork was created using AI-assisted tools during the development process. All other assets and content were manually created by our team.
Generating some vector images
We only use AI in creating miscellaneous art content for backgrounds. Also AI was partially used to create art in the game store page.
Our game uses AI exclusively to generate visuals for the Steam store page. No AI is used within the gameplay itself or to generate any in-game content. The AI-generated visuals are intended to enhance the presentation of our game on the Steam platform.
In this game, AI is used to voice some of the characters.
AI is used to create keyart, headers and some instore assets.
AI was used in creating the stage backgrounds. They were generated using DALLE-3 and then manually edited.

AI Generated voices
Generated voiceover.
Our game utilizes AI in several ways. We generated some concept art using AI, which helped shape the visual direction of the game. Additionally, we partially used AI for translation tasks to ensure a broader audience can enjoy the game. AI also assisted us in some coding tasks, streamlining development and allowing us to focus on crafting a better gameplay experience.
Roll the Die is an AI Midjourney that generates and uses board/story background images, character map token images.
The only use of AI gen tools were for the backgrounds on the Store page images. Nowhere else is AI used. Certainly not anywhere in the actual Game itself. Any and all Images in the game itself have been rendered directly out of the game project without any sort of AI gen tools in the process whatsoever.

We used AI to generate art for store page.
Generative AI used to assist in the creation of some marketing materials, in-game textures and user interface elements.
Generated images for some paintings and photographs using AI.
We used AI to generate some elements on capsule images.
It just traduce the voice to text so the NPC takes actions acording the text received. Also Voice and Assets where generated by AI (not during gameplay)
AI-generated content is used in some of the images of airplanes in this game, and in some of the scarier images.
Some art assets, mainly the store page, have been originally created with the use of image generation AI. Which then have gone through manual editing to apply enhancements and branding such as logos or text. Masking and cleanup have also been applied by hand to remove unwanted elements and/or apply the required dimension changes. The reason for the usage of image generation AI for art assets are the following: - Cut the team cost for art commissions. Art is a minimal focus of this game. - Accurately portray the main artistic vision for the game, which in this case is minimalism. Image generation has helped to reach this goal of art assets reflecting the artistic nuances the game aims for the player to "feel".
AI assistance was used for writing parts of the story. The assets in the game don't use AI in any way.
Some voice content, images and meshes are AI generated.
Artificial intelligence was used in the cover photo and visuals of the game.
Description and some text was generated with Ai
Some images and icons of the game and store page are generated by AI.
We only used AI in the images for the story intros in the game's opening.
AI voice acting
AI is used to generate certain soundtracks, cosmetic and personalization elements, including car liveries, frames, avatars, and decals, allowing players to enjoy a wider variety of designs. AI-assisted translations help localize in-game content for different languages, ensuring smoother communication for a global player base. Additionally, some UI elements are optimized using AI to improve usability and presentation.
This game makes usage of generative AI in various forms. - Image generators for marketing/store page materials and loading screens in game. - Sound generators and text to speech models for robotic announcer voice and some of the SFX. - 3D model generation for a limited subset of assets.
Within the game, there are several images that I created with the help of artificial intelligence.
