Public Steam disclosure research 25,519 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
Some of this game's assets were made with the assistance of generative AI tools and were reviewed, curated and hand-finished by the developer. No content is generated while you play.
Some characters and backgrounds were designed using AI.
Generative AI was used to assist in creating selected promotional capsule and library artwork for this Steam store page. These assets were reviewed and selected by the developer. No generative AI features are used during gameplay, and no content is generated at runtime.
A few small things like code organization & small images.
AI is used in this project to accelerate coding and assisted in generating some of the marketing material.
This is not actually required to disclose but since it crosses the line for some people, I should admit that AI coding tools were used during the game's production. No AI was used to generate any images, audio, text, or design. Its purpose was to help code mechanics according to my design, assist in debugging, and (most importantly) eliminate crunch.
Generative AI was used as a development aid to assist with parts of the game's user interface and some programming tasks during development. All AI-assisted code and assets have been reviewed, modified, and integrated by the developer. The game's design, gameplay systems, creative direction, and final implementation are the developer's own. Pivot does not use generative AI during gameplay, and players cannot generate AI-created content in-game.
Some promotional and store page artwork was created with the assistance of generative AI tools. All in-game art, audio, and text is human-authored. Nothing is generated by AI while you play.
Some visual assets used in the game and its store presentation were created or refined with the assistance of generative AI and were subsequently reviewed, edited, and integrated by the developer. The game does not generate AI content during gameplay.
A limited set of the art and code was generated with help from AI.
Live-generated: Pixie's chat feature generates the pet's replies with a language model that ships inside the product and runs entirely on the player's own computer. There is no third-party AI service, no API key and no account of any kind; the feature makes no network requests at all and works with the machine fully offline. The model is Gemma 4 E2B, licensed under the Apache License 2.0 and redistributed with the notices required by that license. Pre-generated: written text in the product and on this store page — including the interface strings and their translations into the supported languages — was produced with the help of an AI writing assistant. All art, animation and characters are hand-made: every sprite is drawn at runtime by a parametric pixel renderer written for this project, with no generative AI involved at any stage. Camera and microphone input are processed entirely on-device (MediaPipe) and are never sent to any server.
Most of the 2D art in Abys Orbit is AI-assisted, generated with Google Gemini during development. Ship and NPC sprite sheets begin as Gemini concept images, are converted to 3D meshes with Meshy.ai, and are then rendered to 2D sprites in Blender. One dashboard background is a NASA public-domain photograph revised with AI. All AI-generated assets are reviewed and edited by us before shipping. The following content is NOT AI-generated: rank insignia (drawn by hand in Adobe Illustrator), the Scout ship model (a commercially licensed 3D asset rendered in 3ds Max), UI and research icons (licensed from CraftPix under their commercial license), two NASA public-domain images, and all audio, which we produced ourselves. No AI-generated content is created at runtime; all generation happens during development.
Generative AI tools were used to assist with the creation of some visual assets and music for the game. The resulting content was reviewed, edited, and integrated by the development team.
Portions of this game's visual assets were created with the assistance of generative AI tools and were reviewed, edited, and integrated by the developer. The game does not generate AI content during gameplay.
Generative AI was used to create some promotional artwork for the game’s Steam page.
Generative AI tools were used to produce some in-game character voice lines, with all resulting content reviewed and curated by the development team.
Used AI to help me code and create the game and the logo.
Rip N Ship uses generative AI for some original artwork in its fictional Oddkin card collection. This artwork was generated during development, then selected, edited, and incorporated into the game by the developer. Streamer Mode chat is scripted/simulated and is not generated by AI during gameplay.
The game's code, writing (company names, event text, narrative flavor), and 2D art were created during development with AI assistance (Anthropic's Claude), directed, curated, and edited by the developer. All content is pre-generated: the game generates no AI content at runtime and connects to no AI services while you play.
Generative AI was used to support parts of the game’s development.
Some of Stick Legion's in-game text and promotional materials were created with the help of generative AI tools, all reviewed and edited by the developer. The game performs no live AI generation during play.
Generative AI tools assisted with parts of the development, iteration, and production process. The foundation of The Helios Accord—including its original concept, core ideas, world, systems, and narrative—was conceived, designed, and originally written by me. I direct, review, revise, and take responsibility for all AI-assisted material included in the game and its store presentation
Some of the game's resources (art assets, some promotional images on the store page, code, etc.) were completed with the help of AI to achieve better artistic effects.
Some of the game’s visual assets were created with the assistance of generative AI. All generated artwork is reviewed, edited, refined, and adapted by the development team to maintain a consistent visual identity and ensure that it matches the game’s artistic direction and design choices. This approach was necessary due to the high cost of commissioning the full amount of artwork required from one or more professional artists or illustrators. Using AI-assisted tools helped keep the project financially viable, speed up production, and bring the game to players sooner while preserving a cohesive and recognizable style.
Some Steam store, library, icon, and marketing images for this game were created with generative AI and then reviewed and edited for the dinosaur museum theme. The game does not use real-time generative AI during gameplay.
We use AI tools only to demonstrate the game's feel, for marketing materials, and to optimise development. 3D models, UI, characters, robot enemies, the main soundtrack and other key elements of the game are lovingly crafted by our team. Yes, we're not the fastest indie developers in the world. But we're working hard for you! ^_^
This game's localization (including English text) was created with the assistance of AI translation tools, reviewed by the developer. No AI-generated content is created live during gameplay.
This game's music was generated using an AI music generation tool.
Sound Syndicate uses some AI-generated tools for creating music, audio clips, and visual art assets used within the game.
Bar Baron's game design, code, simulation systems, balance and all in-game text are written by hand.Generative AI was used as a production tool in two places: some of the game's 3D props-furniture, bar equipment, kitchen and decor items-were produced with AI tools, and part of the soundtrack is AI-generated music. Those props were made specifically for Bar Baron, following our own art direction, and were then reviewed, optimized and placed by hand-this is not a game assembled from generic asset packs. Character models are not AI-generated. Nothing is generated while you play. The game runs no generative AI at runtime: every system, every event and every number in the simulation was authored by a person.
AI was used in the creation of store assets for marketing purposes.
The text and voice of NPCs are generated by AI
This game includes some AI-assisted visual assets and synthetic voice generation for the in-game robot advisor.
This game uses AI-generated artwork for static marketplace listing images including cars, homes, investment properties, boats, and businesses shown in the Assets and Business panels, as well as for Steam achievement icons. All AI-generated content is created during development and shipped as fixed image files. The game does not generate any content live during gameplay and does not connect to any AI service while you play.
AI tools were used to help speed up development. Cutscenes/story images in Career mode are AI-generated.
We utilize AI technology to enhance development efficiency and provide a broader experience for our players. Our use of AI is categorized as follows: Art & Visuals: AI tools are used strictly for initial concept generation and as reference material. No AI-generated visual assets are used "as-is" in the final game. Every image is manually refined, repainted, and finalized by our artists to ensure a unique and high-quality aesthetic. Sound & Coding: We utilize AI-assisted tools to optimize backend code performance and assist in sound engineering, allowing us to focus on core gameplay stability and mechanics. In all areas, we are committed to transparency and will continue to update and polish the game's content based on player input and professional review.

The game uses some icons and visuals that were previously created with artificial intelligence (some in-game visuals and capsule image, etc...)
CivEconomy: Future Leader uses locally-running AI for two optional gameplay features. All AI processing runs entirely on the player's machine — no data is sent to external servers. Text AI (Command Processing): An on-device language model (Llama 3.2 1B via Ollama) interprets natural language player commands and classifies them into game actions. A keyword-matching fallback system works identically without AI enabled. Image AI (Chieftain Portraits): An on-device Stable Diffusion 1.5 model generates decorative chieftain portrait images. These are purely cosmetic with no gameplay impact. Both features are completely optional. The game is fully functional and playable without any AI features active.
Code generation and quality assurance testing/reporting.
Music — the background tracks were generated with AI.
During development, generative AI tools were used in the production of selected character sprites, backgrounds, CG illustrations, UI artwork, title logos, icons, and music. All AI-assisted assets were generated before release. The developer selected, directed, edited, composited, resized, recolored, and integrated these assets into the final game. Some production assets were also created directly or obtained from commercially licensed stock sources. No generative AI runs during gameplay, and players cannot generate AI content through the game.
