Public Steam disclosure research 25,383 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
AI used to generate and edit community images, marketing and Concept Arts.
The Background Scenery Images on Each Level, but not all, were generated by myself using ChatGPT DALL-E. The The Gameplay Enemy Sprites and Player are also generated by myself using ChatGPT DALL-E. Code and Particle Effects were done in Gamemaker Studio 2. Music was composed using Suno Music. No AI images, Music or code or any game elements are generated during gameplay. No copyright content used.
We use generative AI to simulate the real-world lives of in-game NPCs, giving each their own personality, preferences, memories, and relationship with the player. We also use generative AI to reason about conversations and trigger specific in-game events based on what is said during open-ended conversations. We also use generative AI to further flesh out the world by generating documents and files on each NPC's computer, which the player can browse through.
The basis for some of the sprites were originally generated by AI, and either cleaned or used as inspiration for the final art by us.
AI has been used to help develop the game's cover art.
AI was used to develop in-game art assets like enemies and weapons as well as store-facing promotional materials.
AI was used to create all the visuals in the game. However, every illustration required manual reworking, whether through adjustments, graphic polishing, or integration into the game. I understand that some may not appreciate this approach. Please know that my main goal has always been to create a fun and enjoyable game. I am a solo developer who left my job to dedicate 100% of my time to making video games. To be honest, I don’t know how to model in 3D or illustrate in 2D, which is why I used AI as a support tool. I’m fully aware that AI can be seen as a sensitive topic, and that’s why I’ve been reworking the visuals as much as possible. My wish is also, if the game allows me the resources after release, to collaborate with a 2D artist to further enhance the visual identity. Thank you sincerely for your understanding, and I truly hope you’ll enjoy playing Vampire Cat despite these choices. Your support means the world to me.
Some of the assets in the game are not generated with an AI.
All gameplay design, level creation, and art direction are human-crafted. Select background music tracks and UI textures in the current build were created with AI assistance. Original bespoke compositions are being produced for final release.
AI was used to generate game artwork in the menu pages and for some elements of the in-game userinterface.
All designs are conceived and created by hand, but I also use AI tools during the pre-production phase to help develop details and after the compositing stage. The music in the game is generated by AI based on predefined parameters. The game does not use any real-time AI-generated content.
AI has been used to help develop the game's cover art.
AI generated artwork is used inside the game
Ai has been used for store images and logo on steam.
Everything in the game (every line of code, every 2d, 3d, and audio asset) is written/made by either Kiyasui-Hito (the solo indie developer of this game) or a third-party entity as credited in the game's credits screen, without any assistance/use of AI. Text translations (in-game menus, store page descriptions) were done using AI. The temporary capsule image art on the store page is also AI generated. AI is used in this way because I have a low budget and my friend who is an artist is quite busy these days.
AI was used to generate the backgrounds, enemies, and character portraits. Gyudon Games consists of a single developer who deeply respects artists and understands that AI cannot replace their creativity. "Guild Encounters" is a labor of love, inspired by many JRPGs of the past. Without the use of AI, creating this game would not have been possible given the developer's limited resources. I hope you understand this decision. Thank you for your support—I will continue working hard to deliver the best experience possible!

We have integrated various AI tools to enhance different aspects of the experience: ChatGPT has been utilized to make in-game bots smarter, improving their responsiveness and creating more engaging AI interactions for players. Perplexity AI assisted us with certain coding tasks, helping us optimize and refine complex systems efficiently. By leveraging these AI-driven solutions, we've streamlined development while maintaining high-quality visuals, smarter AI, and optimized performance.
