Public Steam disclosure research 25,508 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
AI used for concepts and the creation of some assets
AI assisted tools were used during development to help create some assets, all of which were reviewed and finalized by the developer. The game does not generate AI content during gameplay, and players cannot input prompts or create AI-generated material.
The art in this demo was either directly created using the visual assets of the Second Edition of the tabletop game "Heroes of Arcania" or inspired by/edited to be a close approximation of the visual assets of said tabletop game. The art from the tabletop game is NOT AI generated art but AI assisted. All of the art started as a drawing or photograph created by the original artist which was then used as a base image that was processed by AI to sharpen the image. This process ensures that NO ONE'S art is stolen. On top of this, every one of the over 750 unique images used for the tabletop game is put through google image search. If any come back with a result other than "No image found", it is replaced to ensure due diligence is done to protect others.
AI-generated images were used for some in-game assets including icons and artworks. These assets were generated using image generation AI tools and then edited/refined by the developer. AI translation tools were also used to support localization, with review and editing by the developer. No AI is used during actual gameplay.
The game is primarily developed manually, with AI assisting in the production process
This game was built by 2 developers, One Human and one AI. Through 9 months of coding FoxQuest is a Replit Race 2 Revenue Finalist and secured $10,000 in AI generative code auditing to help speed up the release of the game. It is worth noting that this is not a Video Game and there are no Story elements for AI to take part in. The use of AI was made to help a Solo Indie Developer work through bugs.
This game uses AI technology for the following purposes: - Generation of some assets - Assistance in text and scenario creation - Programming assistance for development efficiency - Efficient automated game testing No player personal data is sent to AI systems.
Generative AI was used during development for certain assets, such as game artwork, background music, and script translations. No generative AI is used to produce content live while the game is running.
Some images are generated using ai and some code is written with the help of ai.
In-game assets were generated using generative AI and then retouched for final use.
In the early stage of the game, DeepSeek was used to draw the basic template of the game. In the middle stage, Cursor was used to continue writing and optimizing the game code. All the in-game pictures were generated by Wenxin and Qianwen, and remove.bg was used to cut out the images. The in-game background music was created by Suno, and the in-game attack sound effects were recorded from the video music in Wenxin.
AI assistance was used for the visuals and music, while a large amount of hand-drawn modification was done for the artwork. On one hand, this was to enrich the game content, and on the other hand, it was due to limited personal development time and budget.
This game used artificial intelligence tools during the development process to create some text, music, sound effects, and 3D models. All content generated by artificial intelligence is not subject to copyright. However, artificial intelligence is not used to generate content or code in real time during gameplay.
The background music uses tracks from SunoAI (commercially licensed).
AI assistance was used to enhance the quality of the design of some cards in the video game.
This game utilizes Artificial Intelligence to generate dynamic text-based conversations with virtual desktop mascots, allowing them to react primarily to user input. The application supports for now local offline AI (via Ollama) A comprehensive local safety filter is implemented to prevent the generation of harmful or illegal content.
Some of the textures, music, and sound effects used in this application are derived from original materials generated by generative AI, followed by manual adjustment/modification and integration.
Artificial intelligence was only used to generate book covers, as there were a huge number of them and they were only used on classic books, they were not used on the remaining unique and magical books.
Artificial intelligence was used to localize the store page and in-game text.
Only a few of the materials are created by AI.
Most of the game's art and UI are generated by AI.
AI was used to create some character and monster visuals, including sprites and poses. If the game achieves sufficient success, these visuals are planned to be replaced with artwork made by human artists.
"Generative AI tools were used during the development of this game. Code: AI was used as a coding assistant to improve development efficiency and debugging. Art: AI tools were used to generate drafts for some character designs, icons, and background images. All AI-generated assets were manually reviewed, retouched, and polished by the developer to fit the game's style."
In this project, generative AI is used for development support purposes. AI is mainly utilized to assist with providing code examples and resolving technical issues, and it does not generate code or content dynamically during gameplay. All final code and in-game behavior are reviewed and implemented by the developer.
Photo creation
This game uses AI-assisted tools during development for tasks such as text drafting and iteration support. All gameplay systems, content design, and final assets are created and curated by the developer. AI is not used for real-time gameplay decision-making.
graphic assets used in this game and its marketing materials were created with the help of generative AI tools.
Some images on the store page and in game were created using AI tools.
AI-generated content—most of the artwork, aside from the UI, is generated or modified by AI.
Some of the promotional and storefront images were created with AI tools and then refined by hand. All of the in-game assets were designed by a 3D artist.
Some of the promotional and storefront images were created with AI tools and then refined by hand. All of the in-game assets were designed by a 3D artist.
Some AI-generated images are used in the game background.
AI tools have been used to help generate the store graphics, which were then edited for final use. No AI tools have been used for any game content. All art in the game is self-made.
Partly AI Logo
Used AI for a couple of images
I used AI for generating some images
Font and Translations
5 images were made by AI, but the model was trained by images owned.
The game’s logo + the level's images list was generated using AI and then manually edited and finalized by the developer. No gameplay, art, or audio content was AI-generated.
Some art and promotional assets were created with the help of AI tools, and AI assisted the developer during coding. The game’s design, puzzles, mechanics, and final gameplay experience are handcrafted.
A small number of assets have been created with AI assistance as well as some of the marketing text on the store page.
AI-generated content is used for some promotional banners and background images, with artist supervision and final review.
The English description on this Steam store page was translated using AI. The game itself does not contain any AI-generated content.
No image in this game is used exactly as produced by an AI without human editing; all images have been modified, reworked, or supplemented manually. The in-game texts and the store page description were partially written with the help of AI tools, then proofread and corrected by a human.
We use AI as a creative assistant to refine our English descriptions and ensure they are easy to read and engaging (since we are not native speakers). In addition, some of the game’s illustrations were created with the help of generative AI tools and later refined by human artists.
I have used the AI only to prepare the rough localizations. Furthermore on the way I'am planing to setup crowd localization
We used AI tools to pre-generate visual assets (backgrounds, characters) which were then processed and integrated into the game.
Some marketing materials for Wander involve the use of AI-assisted tools during development.
Ability icons and some music were created with the assistance of AI.
We use generative AI only for temporary placeholder images during development. All AI-generated placeholders will be removed and replaced with final human-created artwork before release.
