Public Steam disclosure research 25,380 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
We used image generation for concept art, some 2D assets, promo materials, and voice acting for AI characters.
Ai procedural weather system
Some Artwork is AI Generated on Local Machines during Creation of the Game. We're a small Group of Students and do not have all the Ressources to fully Create all Art by ourselves.
We use AI to pre-generate some in-game banners and icons. Some of this generated content is used as reference and then modified by our in-house art team.
AI-generated and modified imagery for backgrounds and gameplay elements
Planet surface images and some other 2D assets are AI-generated
The program code was partly generated by GitHub Copilot.
Some of the spaceship and UI assets in the game are produced with artificial intelligence. The designs of these assets were made by us, but their shape, color and size were enriched with artificial intelligence.
All the graphics in the game were created with AI, so backgrounds, portraits and inventory objects are all part of it. Text and music are done in the traditional way.
AI generated character-art using Midjourney license used during the story segments. Some gameplay scripts were coded using ChatGPT for assistance.
Nearly all content in the game including gameplay, environments, and story was handcrafted. Some cosmetic elements, such as nose-art decals, icons, were AI generated or AI-assisted, then manually refined to match the game's visual style and tone.
We use AI only to create some images and videos inside the game and some images and videos on the store. All the source code is made by hand, no IA was used for the creation of this game
This game makes use of state of the art generative text and voice services. Shouldermen relies on OpenAI GPT-5 for dialog and Eleven Labs for custom voices and Deepgram for voice input.
ChatGPT was used to localize in game and Store Page text.
Steam store page capsules
A limited number of talent icons have been created using AI generation.
Artificial intelligence (AI) was used to create the illustrations for this game.
The developer is a skilled artist who has created all of the art, except for some music and sound effects that were partially generated by different AI software to ease the cost and workload of solo development.
Uses pre-rendered AI assets.
For recipe art only: Our artist used an AI assistant. We made a hand-painted recipe base. Then we used AI to add a detail layer. Then we hand-painted all final details.
The game features AI-generated artwork for key characters, alongside an AI-generated soundtrack.
Due to the meta-narrative about corporate greed, GPT-models and the regurgitation of modern media, AI was used as a tool for various in-game graphics and marketing phrases, to keep consistent with the theming of the game. The actual story content, audio, gameplay and visual design does NOT use AI generated content.
AI is used to help create some of the sprites, music and sound in this game.
We utilized AI tools to generate internal references for composition and framing. These outputs were then used as a base to manually create handcrafted pixel art assets, ensuring all final in-game visuals follow our custom palettes and artistic standards.
The images of the story trailer and a few shop icons were generated with the help of AI.
In the game's background drawings, outputs of drawing samples from the Midjourney artificial intelligence were taken, and background drawings were produced by making corrections on those samples.
There is no AI generated content in this game. All artwork and scenes were made by me or asset creators on the marketplace without the use of AI generated content.
Some of the banners on the page have been partially created using AI tools.
Some of the store artwork (Steam capsules) are designed with assistance of generative AI. The game itself - includding the music, levels, code and all artwork - is "hand made" without any of this AI stuff.
Background images in this game partially contains AI generated content that is post-processed by hand and given final touches to best suit the game's thematics. "The City" does not conform to this, and is created from the ground up by the fine hands of the creators and artists.
AI assistance was utilized in creating the loading screen images, some in-game painting images in Demonsomnia, and some images on the store page.
Angel Guardian was developed with the help of AI tools across our creative pipeline — including story development, dialogue, enemy balancing, difficulty tuning, concept art exploration, animation prototyping, music iteration, and voice experimentation. AI acted as a creative accelerator, allowing us to rapidly test ideas, refine systems, and expand the scope of our world. All content was directed, curated, and finalized by our human development team.
We have used open source LLMs trained on our game's lore and dialogue to generate quests. We have used our own private NeRF systems to generate some 3D models. Some of our marketing materials, game icons, and concept art was generated using art we had designers create under contract for this game. That art was used to train an open source generative system.
Artificial intelligence was used only for Store Photos, no content in the game was created or directed by artificial intelligence.
AI was used to generate voiceovers for tutorial.
PowerCharge uses AI images for the artwork of the cards and certain user interface elements.
This game contains AI generated contents. The graphic is generated by AI and fixed by human. This game contains violence scenes.
A few background concepts were generated with AI that retains respect to artist copyright (Adobe Firefly) but we are still working on reworking these few instances with our art team!
Some object textures are AI generated to apparently look AI generated as a commentary, distorted and non human (dreamtexture plugin for Blender with prompts like "AI looking alien food" and such. Pictures of faces have been generated with this-person-does-not-exist.com to look like conventionnaly beautiful but generic portraits, again foreshadowing the idea what a person looks like, from an AI, algorithmically driven system.
We have used AI-generated content for player-selectable BGM and cover images in the game lobby, as well as voice-overs. Among these, all voice-overs have been completely replaced with professional voice actors' recordings in time for the Early Access release. We are currently conducting an internal investigation regarding unconfirmed content, and all confirmed AI-generated assets will be replaced with human-created assets by the official 1.0 release.
A tiny number of in-world 2D assets (poster designs and paintings) were created with limited AI assistance and refined by a graphic designer. All 3D art, characters, music, voice work, writing, design, VFX, and SFX were made entirely by humans, meaning over 99.99% of the game was crafted by real people.
Some background and foreground assets are AI generated then altered by Graphic design
Narrator uses AI voice over work as a placeholder. Currently the final game is slotted to feature 100% human actors for maximum expression. An example of this is the demo's ending cutscene.
The game's image assets, including store assets, are made with the use of AI.
GenAI is used to create 2D character design concepts as reference images for 3D modeling. It is also used for some UI icons, a limited number of 3D asset models, and translation of in-game character dialogue.
•The game features AI-generated translations. We welcome community contributions to enhance these translations after the game’s release. •AI-assisted design has been used to create certain visual elements.
Some icons for resources are created using AI technology.
The main menu background, textboxes, and some in-game assets contain AI generated images.
AI was used to generate initial assets for the ship's computer voice, nebula backgrounds, and some translations, all of which were subsequently refined by the developer.
Some dialogues feature AI-generated voices. Parts of the marketing assets - including store texts other than english or german- are modified / localized with AI.
