Public Steam disclosure research25,380 disclosures tracked
Where do games disclose AI use?
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across
games, and follow recorded changes.
This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to
statements published on individual store pages.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam.
Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
As a solo developer, I rely on AI tools to make my game a reality. I use ChatGPT to translate my game's text from my native language to English, ensuring it's accessible to everyone. For visuals, I turn to MidJourney to create stunning backgrounds and other artwork. These tools are essential for me, making it possible to develop my game on my own.
We may use AI generated images for promotional material like events or gameplay updates.
No in game art is AI generated. All in game art as well our core Steam artwork are handmade.
Pixel Pixie contains ZERO AI GENERATED illustrations or music.
Promotional materials have also been cleansed of any placeholder AI content. The solo dev is committed to supporting artists as well as continuing to improve his own artistic abilities.
Game uses built-in text generation AI to determine Unity-chan responses in chat, her relation responses and optionally remembers facts the user tells in chat. All generation happens offline and does not require any third party accounts or payments.
Only the music featured in the promotional trailer for this game was produced using generative AI.
Additionally, generative AI was used to assist with translation of certain texts.
There is no real-time content creation, gameplay, or use of generative AI in the game itself. Generative AI is not used in the creation of any in-game mechanics, text, graphics, or assets.
Only the art of the store page where you see the black cat and the white cat with a city as background where based on the models to pre render an image with those elements together, then I used Photoshop to add the title and some shadows. The art is my own, is not public.
Carceri's story portrays a world made by programs, for programs. While ALL the writing, music, and 3D art in this game was created by a single human being, there is an Art Gallery in-game that contains 50 images, 17 of which have been generated by AI, (that are all clearly marked as such). These are fictionally portrayed as art works created by the characters (programs) of this world.
No names of modern, living artists were used to generate these images. The prompts were words such as: Hudson River school, old masters, Delacroix, robots, abstract geometry, landscape. From there, I photo-shopped all images so that none are 100% unaltered from the generation process.
Acknowledging generative imagery's existence is important to the world-building and meta-narrative of Carceri, so this was the fairest way I could think to include a small dose of these works, which are divisive by their very nature.
In the early stages of game development, we utilized AI technology to generate NPC voice-overs, scene skyboxes, and song covers to enhance the gaming experience. Based on user feedback, we will consider making optimizations and replacements in the official release. We look forward to your valuable input!
No AI live-generation content in runtime. The usage of AI was strictly only in the character voices, and CODECs. The CODEC videos are entirely from in-game assets. We have the licenses necessary to use and distribute the AI content included as part of this game.
Some AI painting works are used as art reference, and some pictures extract the line draft of AI painting works for modification and use after secondary creation.
Some lines are generated by AI, using free and open source voice.
Some music is generated by AI, and paid for legal use.
Some pictures and videos are generated by AI, using people who don't exist in reality, and will not involve any copyright issues.
Our game utilizes artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance the visual experience for players. As a small indie team, we may use procedural and/or AI-based tools to assist with the development process. In all such cases, the final product reflects the creativity and expression of our own development team.
Only a small amount of non-core code and the melody of the opening theme in this game are generated by AI; no AI technology is used for the core creative content including core code, gameplay logic and the lyrics composition of the opening theme.
Good morning everyone :),
In this case, we have used AI to generate the promotional images for the game shown on Steam, such as the cover.
We also used it within our game to explain the initial narrative, introducing the player through a series of images that show what the game world is like.
The rest of the game has been created and illustrated by me :) (I’m not good at conceptual art but I am with the characters hahaha).
If you have any questions, feel free to ask me. Best regards!
