Public Steam disclosure research25,380 disclosures tracked
Where do games disclose AI use?
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across
games, and follow recorded changes.
This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to
statements published on individual store pages.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam.
Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
During the development of this game, we have used generative artificial intelligence (AI) to assist in creating certain art assets. These assets mainly include some of the images and artwork within the game. The use of AI helps us quickly generate unique visual content, enhancing the overall aesthetic experience of the game.
We ensure that all AI-generated content complies with Steam's standard store requirements, strictly avoiding the infringement of any existing copyrights or impersonating others' work. Additionally, to ensure the legality and ethicality of the content, we have implemented measures to prevent inappropriate or illegal content from appearing in the game.
We are transparent and accurate in disclosing our use of generative AI, and we commit to continuing to follow Steam's guidelines to ensure that the game content meets all legal and platform requirements.
Some of the visual elements in the game, including the skill card images, game logo, and other artwork, were created using AI-generated content. This technology helped us enhance the game's aesthetic appeal and provide a unique visual experience.
Generative AI tools were used as part of the development workflow for programming assistance, debugging support, implementation planning, and visual refinement.
AI-assisted visual workflows were used to explore, refine, or produce some visual elements. All such content was reviewed and integrated manually by the developer.
Ashes of Morgravia does not use live generative AI during gameplay. The game does not generate AI content at runtime and does not send player input to AI services.
All visual art and assets in Nightmare Frontier were created entirely by human hands; no art assets in the game have been generated or assisted by AI.
Our use of AI is strictly limited to translation and localization. Specifically, AI-powered translation tools were used to help adapt and refine the game's text across different languages.
Art assets such as certain icons, the lobby, loading screens, and in-game portraits contains artwork created with the help of generative AI. These assets have been carefully edited and reviewed to ensure they align with the game's visual style and quality.
- Some 3D models in game are generated using AI.
- Some 2D graphic assets in game are generated using AI.
- Some 2D graphic assets are used for screenshots and logos on Arcade Managers steam page.
In AbstractPunk, AI was used for speech synthesis, referencing the earlier Evil Indie Games title, NO THING. AI is used in AbstractPunk to generate character speech and sounds. The collage-style graphics in the game feature AI-generated elements as well as numerous distortions caused by AI.
The Image Materials Are All Drawn Manually And Then Beautified With The Help Of Ai Tools, And The Final Details Are Modified And Adjusted In Image Editing Software.
In the early stage of game design, AI tools are used to generate the first draft of the picture (such as scene composition, character outline, etc.), which is only used for internal creative reference. All the pictures used in the later stage are hand-painted by professional painters. In the end, there is no visual material generated by AI in the game.
Some of the art in the game is made with the help of generative AI. This involves generating images from hand-drawn sketches, generating art with AI iteratively, painting over and modifying AI generated art, and fine-tuning art both hand-made and AI generated.
We used generative AI tools to assist with the initial translation of the game's text. However, all AI-generated content was subsequently reviewed, edited, and refined by the development team to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Most sound effects but never music
- Some images such as backgrounds and card faces before being transformed in photoshop
- General coding assistance
The developers make use of agentic coding tools like Claude Code in their work process.
In-game and store descriptions have been translated using ai-tools in the localization process.
Some in-game images are generated using AI. We would like to replace this images with an artist when we can afford it, but for now it is there.
Some of the code was assisted VIA AI for teaching and troubleshooting.
Visual assets for the Store Page and Steam Library (including header images, background art, and the base design of the game logo) were created with the assistance of Generative AI.
Pre-generated Content: The marketing and branding materials were conceptualized using AI tools, followed by extensive manual editing, polishing, and compositing to ensure alignment with the game's minimalist aesthetic.
Live-generated Content: The game does not feature any live-generated AI content during gameplay.
