Public Steam disclosure research 25,380 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
2 BGM was generated using AI. Some background image for the PVE mode was generated using AI.
Artificial intelligence has been used to create in-game assets and certain store materials.
AI has been used to help develop the game's cover art.
AI generates songs about the 2048 game.
The soundtrack was made using Udio
Ai was used to generate rock and trees shapes for xukaackque. Then i later used Gimp2 to color and reshape and then shaders for effect.
Artificial intelligence has been used in order to translate Race or Crash: Secret Racer League's page on Steam and Race or Crash: Secret Racer League's in-game content to all supported languages except Bashkir, English, Russian, and Tatar.
AI was used in the creation of certain visual assets, including character avatars, title screen artwork, promotional materials, and background art. However, these assets still required substantial manual work such as design, sketching, outline drawing, and polishing. The AI was used primarily as a tool for coloring and enhancement, and it did not dictate the creative direction. The visual style remains faithful to the original Little Fighter 2. Some people assume that because AI was used in certain artwork, it must have been applied throughout the entire project. That is far from the truth. I used AI primarily for large-scale visual tasks. To give a clearer picture: the game includes over 3,000 hand-crafted sprite frames, composed from thousands of hand-drawn body parts. In contrast, only about 100 images were AI-assisted, and many of those, such as promotional artwork, don't even appear in the actual game. I understand that some people may have concerns about the use of AI in the creative process. But I hope people can see the broader context and appreciate the amount of manual effort that went into making this game. Please know that I’m a solo developer working with a limited budget. I’ve been developing this project for around 3.5 years; even quitting my full-time job for a year to work on it full time, without expecting it to cover even half of my previous salary. I've done my best to balance quality and practicality. Your understanding and support mean a great deal to me.
The cover art is partially AI-generated, based on snapshots from Strangler’s gameplay.
In this game, artificial intelligence was used to generate the logo, background images, parts of the music, and voice output.
Some images in the game were partly created using artificial intelligence, being creatively adjusted to match the concept of the game.
The fighter image has been post-processed using legally acquired images, and AI tools were utilized to pixelate the image.
I used AI to clone my modified voice to be able to dub in other languages.
The game uses AI to generate NPC chat responses. If the player so chooses, they can also use generative AI to create images to customize wearables (eg. T-Shirts, hoodies) and their personal environment (apartment wallpaper). The user always has a choice to use the image generated or decline it.
Some of the 2D illustrations used in the game will be created with the help of generative AI technology like ChatGPT. These illustrations are designed to enhance the game's atmosphere and are combined with non-AI-generated content to create a cohesive artwork for the game. The use of generative AI is limited to 2D illustrations; no generative AI content will be used for other 3D assets.
The developers make use of agentic coding tools like Claude Code in their work process. In-game and store descriptions have been translated using ai-tools in the localization process.
AI has been used to help develop the game's cover art.
Game Assistant Voice Generation
AI helps me with texts on the Steam page (grammar correction, translations, and texts). AI helps me correct errors in the game code and optimize it (Integrated Microsoft Copilot in the Visual Studio environment). I don't use AI at all for music and sound creation. I don't use AI at all for 3D or 2D graphics creation.
AI-generated texts and translations are partly used for the game and for marketing material.
Our team utilizes generative AI tools to assist in creating some in-game assets.
For creating image assets and music
AI has been used to help develop the game's backgrounds as well as the game's cover art.
Pictures and music
There are three elements of AI used within the game, these being: 1. The title screen artwork 2. Musical elements 3. The narration
Some background elements are generated using AI
AI was used to generate the images for the steam store pages.
Some of the images in the user interface are curated and/or adapted from generations using Generative AI models.
Some translations were completed with the assistance of AI.
Some game assets (like background images) are generated with the help of generative AI.
AI has been used to develop the game's cover art as well as the game's trailer.
Due to budget constraints, the cover illustrations in the Story menu of the game are generated using AI, which will hardly have any substantial impact on the gameplay experience. Depending on future budget considerations, we will decide whether to hire an illustrator to redraw the illustrations. Some of the language translations in the game are done using AI. If you have any better localization suggestions, please feel free to contact me!
Pre-generated AI was used during development to create 3D models and audio files. These assets were reviewed and edited by the developer before being included in the game.
Used AI to generate images on the UI
Character portraits, backgrounds, some in-game sprites, and parts of character dialogue were created using AI.
AI‑generated images were used in certain 2D and background image assets.
Some of the in-game graphical elements and some parts of the game code is generated by AI.
This game is 99% created by real people, the background of level 2 and level 3 were created with AI.
The game utilizes AI to generate human personalities and dialogue for you to interrogate and pick apart when making your decision to execute or release.
We utilized AI tools to generate internal references for composition and framing. These outputs were then used as a base to manually create handcrafted pixel art assets, ensuring all final in-game visuals follow our custom palettes and artistic standards.
AI (DALL-E by OpenAI: ChatGPT) was used to: - generate the game logo; - generate textures for physical materials (rocks, wood, etc.); - generate shields, bushes, flags, gold chains, mosaics, and a sword; - generate dynamite, rods, enemies, and bonuses; This game does not use AI to live-generate content or code during gameplay. All AI assets have undergone human post-processing.
AI have been used for the logo but is replaced by a non AI artwork now.
Certain graphical assets (such as icons and avatars) and sound effects were created using AI-based tools.
All music tracks in the game were created with Udio. Some of the voices you hear were designed using Elevenlabs. Several images and backgrounds were generated with Stable Diffusion. Translations were done using ChatGPT. All pieces are entirely fictional "artworks" created by the developer "Draconum."
We used generative AI for some graphics (UI), which were then refined by humans for full integration.
AI images are used to show the what the driver of the computer controlled cars look like if they win.
AI was used experimentally to generate reference images that were used in the creation of a various art assets in the game. These AI images do not appear in game and were only used indirectly in the exact same way one might use a photo reference.
Some store images are AI generated.
The grapics on the shop page is ai generated. Most of the texture in the game are hand-drawn, but some of them are ai-generated. All game levels are hand-crafted in the level editor (everybody who owns the game can do that, too). Enemy behaviour is deterministic and sometimes random; no ai used here.
AI is used to design images before graphic post-production.
