Public Steam disclosure research 25,380 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
Some of the game's pre-made content and the store page texts were created with the help of generative AI tools, and then reviewed and edited by our team. No content is generated by AI while you play.

We used generative AI during development to create parts of the game’s code and narrative content.
Some of this game's user-interface text, its Korean, English, Japanese and Simplified Chinese translations, parts of this store page, and the on-screen text in the trailer were written with the assistance of generative AI tools, then reviewed and edited by the developer. All 3D models, user-interface art and sound effects are licensed from commercial asset stores. All artwork made for this game, including the app icon, store art and trailer, is rendered or captured from the game itself rather than produced by an image- or video-generation model. The game does not generate any content at runtime and does not connect to any AI service during play.
Sunday Pilot contains no AI-generated art, music, voice or in-game text. Every visual in the game is rendered in real time from geometry and materials authored by hand in code — there are no image assets. Every sound is synthesized by the game while you play, from a physical model of the engine; no audio files ship with the game. All car data and track layouts are hand-authored. The store page capsule art and screenshots are rendered by the game itself, using the same renderer that draws the game — they are not concept art, not painted, and not AI-generated. The game description and other store page text were written with the assistance of an AI writing assistant, and portions of the game's source code were written with the assistance of an AI coding assistant. All of it was reviewed and edited by the developer. The game does not use generative AI at runtime. Nothing is generated while you play, there is no network connection of any kind, and the game is fully playable offline.

Only TTS voices in English. Some fragments of the code was made with AI, but these features are invisible for the client.
AI tools were used to help translate the game's text. All artwork, music and game design were created by the developer.
The game was 100% designed and tested by me and my kids. I did use AI tools to help create the logo, some of the 3d objects in the game (portion of the buildings) and the voice narration in the trailer.
Generative AI was used for some game banners, localization, and a small number of in-game icons.
Runecast’s illustrations were generated with AI tools, then curated, edited and integrated by hand. The soundtrack was generated with Suno under a commercial license. The game’s design and code were developed with AI assistance, directed and reviewed by the developer.
AI tools were used only in a limited supporting role to help with internal coding tools and game testing.
This game uses AI-generated assets created during development. Sound effects (footsteps, can kicks, gunshots, explosions, etc.) were generated with AI and selected and adjusted by the developer. Background art (textures for the ground, walls, distant scenery, clouds, trees and waterside details) was generated with AI and processed by the developer (desaturated, cropped and recolored in-game). Characters, the can, weapons, UI and music are not AI-generated. The game does not generate any content with AI while running.
Some of the artwork and text in this game and on its store page, including the translations, were created with the assistance of AI tools and reviewed by the developer.
Some of the store artwork, the game icon and some sound effects were created with generative AI tools and then edited by hand before release. The simulation, the program code, the 3D models and the text in the game were made without generative AI. Nothing is generated by AI while you play.
This game uses pre-generated AI only for certain 2D background images and promotional store visuals. These assets were created before release and remain fixed. The game does not include any live AI generation during gameplay.
Some in-app text (character dialogue) and translations were drafted with AI writing assistance and edited by the developer. All graphics are drawn at runtime by hand-written code, and all sounds and music are synthesised by code; no AI image, voice or music models are used, and nothing is AI-generated while you use the app.
Soundtrack and Sound Effects
This game does not generate any content with AI during play. During development, generative AI tools were used under human direction to help create some player-facing content: - Store and marketing artwork (capsule images and similar key art). Outputs were prompted, selected, cropped, and edited by the developer to match the game’s clay board look. - Some written text, including light in-game story dialogue and store-page copy. All text was reviewed and edited before shipping. The playable game itself is a hand-authored, turn-based puzzle: boards, rules, 3D presentation, and sound effects are implemented in code (Three.js meshes and materials; synthesized SFX). Puzzle layouts are designed and verified with a traditional search solver, not a generative model. No third-party likenesses, copyrighted characters, or illegal content are used. All AI-assisted output is reviewed before it appears on the store page or in the game.
Some of the programming made use of AI tools to assist with identifying bugs. ALL visual assets in this game are 100% HUMAN MADE, from the ground up. All sound effects and music are also 100% made by me, with NO AI. All in-game imagery is entirely human made. The store page graphics and text description are also 100% human made with no AI.
Generative AI was used during development to create playing-card court illustrations and promotional artwork, which were reviewed and adapted for the game. No AI content is generated during play.
As a solo developer, I leverage generative AI tools to efficiently create visual assets and UI elements. Much like an automated tool helps a single craftsman, this technology allows me to bring my vision to life independently, maintaining full creative control over the game's mechanics, logic, and design.
Generative AI tools were used during development to help create some of the game's artwork, including zombie character sprites, hammer icons, achievement icons. All AI-assisted artwork was reviewed and selected by the developer before being included in the final game. The store page description was also written with the assistance of an AI writing tool.
BitWise was made by a single developer with AI assistance, under the developer's direction and review. It contains no AI-generated images or voices: the game draws all of its art and synthesizes all of its sound with its own code. Nothing is generated by AI while you play.
The background music was generated with AI tools. In-game text translations were produced with AI assistance.
I'm a solo developer and I'm not a 3D modeler. Generative AI is what made Pawper possible at all: the in-game items and the game's icons were created with AI 3D tools, and I assembled the store capsules by hand from those elements. Sound effects and music are mostly licensed or hand-made. Nothing is generated by AI while the game is running.

Icons and Artworks for the Shop are made with the help of A.I.
Generative AI was used to create a limited number of pre-generated assets, including labels and artwork for some small in-game props, such as fish food products, as well as some customer voice lines, such as “Thank you” and “Have a nice day.” No AI-generated content is created during gameplay.
I used Claude and Arena.AI for the art assets, as im only one person and use AI as a tool to save time with repetitive tasks.
Some assets used in-game and on promo art are generated using generative artificial intelligence.
Generative AI was used during development to create pre-made content: concept and reference images, character sprites, textures and UI graphics (OpenAI image generation), the game logo (Google Gemini), some 3D model drafts (Tripo) and sound effects (ElevenLabs). All AI-generated material was selected, edited, modelled and integrated by the developer in Blender and Unity. The game does not generate any content with AI while you play and does not connect to AI services.
During development, generative artificial intelligence tools were used to create some pre-rendered static images featured in the game and in the Store page materials (illustrations and promotional graphics). All content was selected, reviewed and integrated manually by the developer. The game does not use generative AI during gameplay and does not generate content in real time.
Steam store and library, including capsule images, the logo and icons Gameplay screenshots were captured directly from the game.
Generative AI tools were used during development to assist with visual assets, music and programming. Generated outputs were reviewed, edited and integrated by the developer to fit the game’s design and creative direction.
Steam store and library, including capsule images, the logo and icons Gameplay screenshots were captured directly from the game.
Sprites and backgrounds were produced using AI. All voice acting, translation, music, and everything else was done by humans.
We used AI in both the game's art and code, but we still made it with a lot of care and love for the fun of it — we hope you enjoy it.
Generative AI tools were used during the development of Forgotten Horizons to assist with the creation of some content. AI-generated content was reviewed and edited by the development team before being included in the game or its store and marketing materials. The game does not generate AI content in real time during gameplay.
Some of STACKPUNK's 2D pixel art — including boss portraits, card artwork, background scenes, UI ornaments and achievement icons — was created with the assistance of a generative AI pixel-art tool during development. All AI-assisted images were generated ahead of time, then reviewed, edited and hand-finished by us before being shipped as fixed image files in the game. STACKPUNK does not generate any content live while you play, and the game never connects to an AI service. All gameplay, code, design, music and sound are authored by us or sourced from properly licensed/CC0 material.
Generative AI was used as a supporting tool for the creation and refinement of text content and graphical assets used in the game and/or on the Steam store page.
All game content was created using generative AI, including visuals, 3D models, textures, music, sound effects, and text. Generative AI was also used to create the store descriptions and marketing materials. The game does not generate AI content during play or connect to external AI services.
