Public Steam disclosure research 25,380 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.

I am a solo developer leveraging AI to improve my efficiency while moonlighting this project. Hence, many temporary AI-generated assets make their way into the game but I hope to replace over 90% of those with handcrafted assets over time.
Some of the game's music and sound effects were created with the help of generative AI tools. Generative AI was also used to assist with in-game text and its translations into other languages. All AI-assisted content was produced during development and reviewed by the team. The game does not generate any content with AI during gameplay.
Generative AI was used during development to create selected 2D visual assets, including menu and loading-screen artwork, interface icons and patterns, and the game's wordmark. AI tools also assist with store-page writing. This content is prepared in advance; the game does not generate AI content or connect to an AI service during gameplay.
Some images are AI generated
The poster collectibles and a small number of icons in the game were generated with AI assistance
This game and store contains 2D artwork pieces created with the assistance of generative AI. These images are used as static artwork in story-driven cutscenes to help illustrate and convey the game's narrative. No AI-generated content is created during gameplay, all other game content was created without generative AI.
Generative AI tools were used during development. Some 3D models of characters and environments, some pre-rendered cutscenes, the main theme song, marketing videos and the translations were created with the help of AI tools, then edited and assembled by the developer. Gameplay design, code and in-game animations were made by the developer. No content is generated by AI during gameplay.
Some art and audio in this game were created with generative AI tools and then edited by hand: ability and application icons and the logo (OpenAI image generation), a number of 3D props (Tripo3D), and some sound effects (ElevenLabs). All of it was generated during development and reviewed by the developer before shipping. Nothing is generated live while you play
Some audio and visuals may be generated with artificial intelligence.
Generative AI was used as a development assistant on Island Escape: primarily to help write and review the game's source code, and to help draft and localize in-game text (Simplified Chinese, English, Japanese, Russian, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, German). All of that output was reviewed and edited by the developer. Everything you see and hear is generated procedurally by the game's own code, shaders and audio tools at runtime — the project uses no AI-generated images, 3D models, textures or voice acting. The game does not use generative AI while you play. No player data is sent anywhere.
Generative AI was used to assist in creating background environment imagery for some maps. No AI-generated content is created during gameplay.
In this project, we are using generative AI to brainstorm ideas for character designs and to localize text.
Generative AI-assisted tools were used in parts of the development process, including selected visual assets, 3D models, music/audio, and promotional materials. These elements are reviewed and integrated by the developer as part of the game's overall creative direction. No generative AI is used to create content live during gameplay.
The logo on our store images was created with generative AI.
Some background music and visual assets included with the game or used in its marketing materials were created using generative AI and selected or edited by the developer. Generative AI is not used during gameplay, and no player input is sent to an AI service.
Certain UI elements and regional logos were created with the assistance of AI.
This game and its store page use generative AI-assisted content, including artwork, music, sound, and other creative assets. Assets are created or assisted with AI tools, then curated and implemented by the developer. No live AI-generated player content is used during gameplay.
IA used for localization
There is no active generative AI content when you play the game. Some of the still images to support the quests, fate and hope cards were originally AI generated.
The game had used AI tools for localization and dialogue voice lines. The game does not use any generative AI or any sort of AI during gameplay.

The promotional poster of the store utilized AI technology.
We use generative AI to assist with visuals, writing, and translation. No generative AI is used during gameplay.
Generative AI tools were used in a limited capacity to assist with the creation and enhancement of certain 2D images and audio assets. No 3D models, animations, gameplay systems, or other game content were generated using AI.
Meshy was used during production to assist in converting my hand-drawn character concepts into 3D avatars, which were then integrated, refined, and animated for the final game.
Some 3D models and store page text were created with the assistance of generative AI tools, then reviewed and hand-tuned by the developer. No AI content is generated at runtime. All fishing data, depth charts, and gameplay systems were authored manually from real NOAA and fishery sources.
Generative AI tools were used to assist in the production and refinement of selected promotional and marketing materials for United Football. AI-assisted outputs were reviewed and edited by the development team before use. Generative AI is not used to generate live gameplay content.

This game was developed solo by an independent developer. Some UI visuals and artwork used for the Steam store page were created with the help of generative AI. Original sound effects were also created with AI assistance to match the game's atmosphere. This content is fixed and built into the game. AI is not used to generate content in real time during gameplay.

This game used AI assistance in the early stage of art assets.
Some promotional concept artwork was generated by AI, no AI is used in-game.
AI is not used for any aspect of music creation or sound. And no actual game art was created with AI (Inventory items, decals, portraits, etc. All of that was fully painted by a human.) AI was used for code work and project management. ONLY a small amount of the textures (less than 10) used in the world were created with the help of AI.
Some item and skill images were created with the help of generative AI during development.
For now, AI/computer-generated audio is utilized for the limited express automated announcements
Steam store page logo and cover art and game menu images made with ai tools
Generative AI is used to make a limited number of visual assets, such as the main menu background image, plane/ship icons and some crosshair images.
I use AI tools mostly for generating code and audio clips. I also use AI at times for image-editing. I write all the dialogue for the characters - but all the voices inside the game are generated by AI.
Crappy Corp uses a small amount of pre-generated AI content, all created during development and shipped as fixed assets: the looping background video on the main menu, and the game's achievement icons. Both were made with AI image and video tools and then edited and finished by hand. Parts of the game's code were also written with AI assistance. Everything else is not AI generated. The 3D models, characters, environments and animations are licensed commercial asset packs or made by us, and all sound effects and music come from licensed sound libraries. The in-game crew voice is Steam voice chat between real players, not synthesized speech. No AI content is generated while you play.
