Public Steam disclosure research 25,497 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
This game came from the mind of a useless human, but an equally useless AI allowed him to make this disaster possible.
This game uses pre-generated AI art. All in-game elements—including illustrations, backgrounds, and bosses—were created with generative tools and then edited and refined by the developer. The only exceptions are a few assets.
The capsules were created using AI tools.
Some of the images in the game are created with AI and use pre-generated AI illustrations
AI was used to generate the control tower audio in English and Spanish.
The voiceover in the trailer was generated using AI technology.
AI is used for store and in game start screen splash art.
Ai is used for reference of art.
During development, some visual assets were created with the assistance of generative AI tools as part of the content creation process, including certain achievement icons. In all cases, the assets were reviewed, edited, and integrated by the development team. The final game experience reflects the creative direction and artistic decisions of the developers.
A small portion of the art assets in this game utilizes AI-generated results, which have been manually redrawn or modified and will not affect the gaming experience.
AI was used for Steam store page translation to improve accessibility.
AI is being used in your Store Page capsule art. Specifically in the Library Header and Hero. The picture of the man on those assets is AI.
Steam Page thumbnail and Sentence flow.
Some visual assets and coding were assisted with AI tools, while all gameplay design and balancing were created by hand. Enemy behavior is powered by traditional game AI, making each run unpredictable and dynamic.
AI was used to create translation, some game item icons, avatars and backgrounds for news. All locations, monsters, characters and items, as well as all original texts are created entirely by human artists.
AI tools used during development are used for generating some textures like faces of the characters, Voice generators for converting speaking style to appropriate and animations from mixamo for better experience of physics of the characters. Code generation tools are used to fix and analyze parts of code to provide simpleness and make development faster to deliver more products and assets.
We use AI to generate store page descriptions, translations into languages other than Japanese, and marketing materials.
The code for this game has been written with the aid of AI. Some of the images you will se have been modified with ai.
Enemy models and textures were initially generated with AI and later manually refined by the development team.
In Cursed Hospital, we incorporated AI-generated content for specific elements, including capsule images, library assets, and the game icon.
I'm a colourblind dev, so I used AI to help me choose colours for the game's art
For Creating Capsules
Some of the character designs and 3D models in this game were created using generative AI tools. Animations, environments, and gameplay systems were designed and implemented manually.
Some menu images, the game’s logo, and certain sprites were created using AI tools and edited manually. No AI content is generated during gameplay.
Some artwork was initially created with AI generation tools, but all assets were manually edited, refined, and finalized by me (composition, logo placement, adjustments, and corrections). No unedited AI output is used.
Only for Marketing material, if we reach our goal we will pay a real person fr fr.
Escape the Maze was developed by a solo developer. Some elements of the game, including store page visuals and text, were created using generative AI tools during development. All final assets have been carefully reviewed and manually refined to ensure accuracy, quality, and full compliance with Steam’s content guidelines. The game also features AI-controlled enemy behavior, such as a zombie that chases players in the maze. However, no live-generated AI content is used during gameplay.
Some in-game assets were created using AI tools, including certain audio effects, character voices, a small number of meshes, and portions of in-game text. All AI-generated content was reviewed, edited, and integrated to fit the game’s design and narrative.
AI has been used to help develop the game's cover art.
Ai powered jet behavior and enemy tactics enhance immersion and visuals
Art is AI made. Everything is voice acted but What is said is partly made by AI As far as what the voice actor is saying. Some Dialogue and main idea of the story is developer made.
Colors for my Illustrations: I'm daltonic, and colors are complicated. Music: no talent or money. Trailer: Backgrounds and hordes of zombies
We used generative-AI tools during development to draft concept art and some store/marketing visuals and text. All outputs were manually reviewed, repainted, and edited before inclusion. The game does not generate content at runtime and does not send any player data to AI services.
We are using an AI-generated capsule image for our market research and testing phase. Once we wrap up these tests, we will create and share the final hand-painted capsule art.
Some of the 2D sprite assets and promotional images (such as the store capsule artwork) were partially generated using AI tools. These AI outputs served as a foundation and were further edited and refined by the artists to ensure quality, consistency, and originality. No AI-generated content is created during gameplay, and AI was only one step in a multi-stage creative process.
Some visual elements, such as pavement textures, were partially created using AI tools during development.
We used a few pre-rendered images as internal references for proportions and framing. However, all-ingame visuals are original pixel art creations with our palettes, handcrafted by our team to ensure consistency and authenticity.
We used AI tools behind the scenes to make the game more vibrant, varied and polished. AI helped us brainstorm and sketch dozens of unique sea creatures and environments, generate high-quality textures and animations faster, and even suggest balanced enemy behaviors so each battle feels fair and fun. Thanks to AI assistance, our team could focus on crafting the best gameplay moments—AI simply sped up routine tasks, letting us fill the world with more creativity and detail.
Some menu images, the game’s logo, and certain sprites were created using AI tools and edited manually. No AI content is generated during gameplay.
This game is primarily hand-drawn and artist-created. A very small number of development assets were lightly assisted with AI tools, but no live AI generation occurs during gameplay. The vast majority of in-game assets, environments, characters, and cinematics are traditionally created by the developer.
The game does not contain AI-generated content. We used AI to create the capsules for the game's store page.
The images used for the header, store, library, and those related to logos and marketing were created with generative artificial intelligence.
Artificial Intelligence was used to create the content of the game page in the store, and specifically to create images and logos of the library
This work uses illustrations created by image generation AI in some parts.
AI has been used in this product for rendering certain graphical assets and writing gameplay code/narrative elements.
AI has been used to generate the character images displayed on the targets in-game.
Used to generate assets for marketing material.
As a one-person indie dev on a small island, with a clear idea, some programming skillz, minimal artistic talent, and practically zero funding, using AI has helped me actually to finish developing Lightyears of Fervent Warfare. I started developing LoFW during COVID-19, when I began learning game development as a hobby during Seychelles' lockdown. I had coded my MSc project in C# and was able to code everything by hand. I was even able to design the pixel graphics on my own. Then COVID-19 ended, life continued, and LoFW was left in the dust. This year, I experimented with the Cursor and Midjourney AIs and discovered that I could leverage them to continue developing my game part-time. Using Cursor to modify my existing code and generate new code via vibe coding helped me implement features quickly. This gave me the time to focus on the actual game design, the feature set, and testing. And while I still work on most of the pixel graphics by hand, using Midjourney to generate more complex graphics has helped me save time and resources that I don't yet have. Sure, using AI still takes time; I can be pedantic and tend to modify and optimise everything manually. Chastising AIs, reviewing code, and doing manual edits to the graphics are now part of my workflow. AI shenanigans notwithstanding, I do hope that you'll support my game!
