Public Steam disclosure research 25,376 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.

Some of the visual assets both in the game and in the promotional materials were created with AI's help.
Tickle Monster has used the Midjourney AI service to generate most of the images shown in the game. In particular, the 650+ player images were generated using heavily pixelated and manually-edited composite images as source material, and mascots were generated from text inputs. None of the text content is AI-generated, though. For more on the process used to generate player images, see this blog post: https://www.ticklemonster.com.au/2023/06/14/photobashing-game-assets-via-midjourney/
Some of the images on loading screens and menus have been manipulated using AI including the title art and store backgrounds. I'm a solo developer with no budget and I'm a terrible artist.
AI is used to assist with English translation. All translated text is ultimately reviewed and edited by humans.
Our game leverages the newest AI technology to enhance your gaming experience! From generative images that improve the visual aspects of the game to AI-driven voiceovers that add depth to every character, our use of AI extends to creating immersive storefront visuals and engaging marketing materials. This approach helps us deliver the game faster and better
AI assisted in the design of some game artwork.
Graphic background in main menu was created with the help of AI and 1 or 2 poster decorations in-game was also created with the help of AI.
It uses AI generated voices for the trailer and AI Translation for user interface.
AI in Truck Manager has been used for image creation for some splash arts and characters.
The game contains a few AI generated images which have been modified by real artists.
We used generative AI tools during the production of our Gameplay Trailer. These tools were employed to create a portrait of the character Gramps Makar, animate it, and generate a short voice line for the trailer.
Using AI for steam page resources: base for description, logo background etc.
AI was used to create some of the images.
AI has been used for translation and for some wallpaper/background art (pre-rendered)
Some of the store pictures are AI generated. Nothing in the game is AI generated. The screenshots are of course not AI generated.
I am proud of the fact that everything you see and hear in the game is made by humans. Work by talented artists and human creativity created all the assets, soundtracks and story elements you experience in the game. For full transparency I do want to disclose that Language Models were used for assisting while coding and for translating the game in the wide number of languages using DeepL. However through community effort we continuously refine these translations to be the most fitting they can be.
Some graphic elements, such as faces and logos, were created with the help of AI, then retouched by our team to fit in with the game.
It was used for the games main background image, and that is all.
Art and visual assets were created with AI-assisted tools as part of a custom development pipeline. All assets are manually reviewed, edited, and refined to meet the game’s creative vision and maintain stylistic consistency. The game does not use AI to generate content at runtime.
In "Don't Click in The Dark," we utilize AI-generated graphics as a foundation for our creative process. The AI helps generate base images, which we then use as inspiration to create detailed pixel art. These AI-generated visuals serve as a starting point, allowing our artists to craft unique, atmospheric environments and characters. Additionally, we animate these pixel art assets.

I used AI to generate translations of the game's text elements to ensure a satisfactory English version. The AI did not create or generate anything new compared to what I had manually created.

Initial localization for non-english languages was done using large language models. The community has improved on that localization immensely. The game itself contains no generative content, with the exception of localization.
The backgrounds for the research/videos were pre-generated by AI and manually adjusted to the desired state. Localization in all languages except Russian.
Sanguine does not use AI to generate gameplay, dialogue, or dynamic content for players. The game experience is fully authored and designed. AI was used in development in three ways: -Coding assistance: GitHub Copilot was used as a tool to speed up writing code, with all implementations reviewed and customized by the developer. -Small artwork elements: A limited number of in-game framed paintings, Steam Achievement Artwork, and Newspaper Artwork were created with AI and then curated/edited by the developer for use. -Additionally, AI was used to assist with Localization Translations. All story, characters, environments, music, voice performances, live VHS-style footage, 3D models, cutscenes, and overall production were created directly and originally for Sanguine, or were purchased for use, or are royalty-free for use.

Some assets used in Casino Management Simulator were created using generative AI tools. • NPC character models were AI-generated. • All in-game music tracks were AI-generated. • Some Store Page text and marketing descriptions were AI-assisted. No live AI generation occurs during gameplay. All AI-generated assets are pre-made, reviewed, and legally owned for use in the game.
RoadHouse Manager was mostly made by a single human on a quest to make the ultimate roguelite set in a roadhouse! Quitting his job at Activision Blizzard and undertaking this quest took years of 60 hour work weeks equaling many 1000s of hours of labour, lots of brain-effort, tons of money, roadhouse research, and many rare Earth resources; eventually going way over budget, forging this entertainment out of raw willpower melded with passion-sauce. Eventually to complete his universe-given quest, this dev delved into the dark side of forbidden technologies of 2026, including devil-spawned AI-tooling, the vile monster of which was used, to make some ear-stuff and eye-stuff in lieu of hiring other humans that could not be afforded at this time, to fill in content gaps with the best possible tools available at the time of production. Go-go human race, hurray!

The only use for AI is for some noise textures. Every 3D model and idea is mine only.
AI is used to help create character images, translations, music, and voices.
Some images in the game are created using generative AI, including splash images, capsule and marketing art, and character art. The images are generated using paid subscription to Midjourney. The image copyright belongs to Midjourney with Crystalline Green Ltd. licensing the images for commercial use. We are a small independent studio with limited budget, but we appreciate not everyone is comfortable with use of AI generated images in commercial games, so we understand if you would prefer not to play our game. Feel free to contact us if you have further questions or concerns.
