Public Steam disclosure research 25,519 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
Some UI sprites and sound effects were created with the assistance of generative AI tools.
This game was designed and developed entirely by humans. Generative AI was only used to assist with the translation and localization of in-game text. No AI-generated artwork, audio, gameplay content, or narrative content is included in the game.
I've used ai generators for icons and logos. All coding, animations and modelling has been done by me.
Some pre-rendered movie scenes, character artwork, and background music in this game were created as original assets with the assistance of generative AI tools, then reviewed and edited by the developer. The game does not use live generative AI to create content during gameplay.
We currently use AI for some of the audio dialogue as well as some of the placeholder 2D art assets. Our goal is to get art made for these where possible and we already have a voice actor and musician on board who is working on our audio.
It gas been used to generate some store page and marketing assets.
Generative AI tools were used as development assistance for code drafting/debugging and for creating some visual source materials. All AI-assisted code and visuals included in the game were reviewed, modified, edited, and integrated by the development team.
Some graphic assets are made with AI.
We have carefully crafted a complete set of NPC dialogue without the use of AI. At the same time, we are experimenting with an additional feature powered by AI large language models, allowing players to freely converse with their favorite NPCs. This is an exploratory feature that exists entirely separately from the traditional game content. These experimental elements are intended to offer players a new additional experience and will not affect the complete single-player experience. Whether this feature will be included in the final release has not yet been decided. Even if it is ultimately implemented, it will be optional rather than required.
We use generative AI for promotional artwork on our store page, but none of the in-game content uses AI.
Generative AI tools were used to assist with drafting and editing store page text and marketing descriptions. All final content is reviewed and edited by the developer.
This game contains assets made with generative AI technologies
This game uses generative AI to assist with parts of the creative process, including some artwork, voice/audio content, written text, localization, and marketing materials. AI-assisted content is reviewed, edited, and selected by the developer before being included in the game. The overall story direction, game design, character concepts, and final creative decisions are made by the developer.
This game uses AI-generated and AI-assisted content as part of its creative process. AI Slop: TCG exists because of a very specific idea: taking the weird, imperfect, grotesque, and absurd look of what people call “AI slop” and turning it into a roguelike card game full of satire, dark humor, and creatures that probably should not exist. That is why AI has mainly been used to create and develop the creature illustrations for the cards. It is not an accidental extra or some hidden shortcut: it is part of the game’s concept, lore, and visual identity. Without that mutant digital-trash aesthetic, the project would lose a big part of what makes it work. AI has also been used as support for visual ideation and production, which is especially important for a game being made by a solo developer. The game does not generate AI content in real time during gameplay. All included content has been reviewed, selected, edited, and manually integrated by the developer.
AI used to assist in code development.
Axiom of Echoes uses generative AI for part of its assets. The store and library artwork (capsule, header, and library images) was created with AI image-generation tools and then curated and edited by hand. Portions of the soundtrack, sound effects, and voice narration were produced with AI audio tools. All AI-assisted content is reviewed by a human before it ships. The gameplay itself — the 3D voxel puzzles, their target shapes and solutions — is generated procedurally from mathematical formulas, not by AI.
Galactum Meridian was developed with generative AI assistance under direct human creative direction. AI tools supported coding, writing, design exploration, production workflows, and selected visual and promotional assets. All material was reviewed, edited, and integrated by the developer. The game does not use live generative AI during gameplay.
This game and store page included to some extent is Generative AI
Silver Creek Town uses generative AI to support live NPC dialogue text during gameplay. Player text input may be processed by an AI service to generate in-character fictional NPC responses within the world of Silver Creek Town. Some background music, concept art, character images, text drafts, and marketing materials may also be created or assisted by AI tools during development. We review AI-assisted content before use and apply prompts, content rules, and safety restrictions to reduce inappropriate, illegal, hateful, sexually explicit, infringing, or unsafe output.
Our team used generative AI tools to help develop some in-game card images and the images for our Steam Achievements. For any assets acquired from third-party artists, we were not always able to confirm whether generative AI was used in their creation. This is the full extent of our AI usage.
Some store page promotional artworks and trailer footage materials are assisted and initially generated by AI tools. All AI-generated content has been deeply manually revised, adjusted and optimized by our development team to ensure originality and compliance. No runtime AI dynamic content will be generated during the game running process.
Diggems is developed by a very small team, and we use generative AI tools to assist with some pre-generated 2D and 3D art assets outside our core skill set. All AI-assisted assets are reviewed and adjusted before being included in the game.
Some visuals, text, and promotional materials (including the trailer) were created with the help of AI. Imperfections, inconsistencies, and “errors” are intentional — they reflect a world where systems don’t always make sense, yet people rely on them anyway. This is not a bug. It’s the design.
AI-assisted tools were utilized in the optimization process of the game's program code and game design
Some sound design elements partially created with generative tools.
Some 2D artwork, in-game images, item icons, and promotional/store images were created with the help of generative AI tools during development. These assets were manually reviewed and edited before use. The game does not use live generative AI to create content during gameplay.
This game uses AI to generate some images.
Artificial intelligence (AI) was leveraged for key aspects of the game's development, including in-game logic, support systems, and certain artistic assets.
Generative AI was used to assist in creating selected promotional artwork and logo/icon assets for the Steam store page. All outputs were reviewed, selected, and edited by the developer. Generative AI is not used during gameplay, and no content is generated live for players.
The developers utilize AI tools to assist in the initial concepting and intermediate rendering phases of certain 2D art assets, UI elements, and narrative cutscenes. However, all generated materials are heavily repainted, manually edited, and refined by our artists to ensure they align with the game's dark fantasy aesthetic. No raw, unedited AI generation is used in the final product. All core gameplay mechanics, level design, and technical systems are 100%
Large portions of the game’s background music, sound effects and written texts, together with a limited selection of models and texture assets, were created with AI tools.
Generative AI (OpenAI ChatGPT) was used to create the title/boot key art and the 20 achievement badge icons. The game's code — which procedurally generates the city, UI and synthesized music — was written with AI coding assistance (Anthropic Claude).
Some AI-generated placeholder music and conceptual artwork were used during development and the promotional design process. All gameplay content, levels, story, characters, dialogue, and final implementation have been created, reviewed, and curated by the development team. Any AI-assisted content is subject to human oversight and modification prior to release.
Generative AI has been used for enhancing some game page elements and descriptions.
Some 2D art (icons and illustrations) was created with the help of generative AI tools and refined by the developer. No AI content is generated during gameplay.
This game contain AI generated image that have been modified with a 2d software so you can have beautiful pictures representing the game and the war.
Some 2D graphics used on store page
AI is used to help on music and art creation both out and in game.
AI tools were used only to assist with the design of the Steam store capsule artwork. No AI-generated content is used in the game itself.
AI was used as an assistive tool for creating specific texture patterns, supporting code development, and producing videos for the game. All generated content was manually reviewed, edited, and refined by our team. As a small independent game studio, we use AI to support our creative workflow. All final content was created and approved by our team.
I use Ai for sound tracks or fixing problems in unreal engine 5 and I do not use it for 3D Desgine because sound actors are very expiensive to hire
The tutorial includes AI-generated voiceover to assist new players
My game currently uses generative AI only to assist with temporary localization and translation work, mainly as a placeholder until the translations can be reviewed and replaced by professional human translators.
Generative AI was used to create the store page assets and in-game guides
Generative AI was used only for certain voice and audio elements featured in the game and its trailer. All gameplay systems, visual assets, game design, programming, and other content were created and implemented by the developer. Players cannot generate content using AI within the game, and no AI-generated content is created during gameplay.
AI-generated content used only for musics
Dear player, Original renders where done in Blender by me. Then I used (AI) to enhance the rendered images out of Blender. Only for Marketing. Game design and QA was done by team member. Code was done in Godot by a team member, 3d models were done in Block bench and Blender by a team member. Doing what I can with what I got. Since I got lay off from the game industry 2 1/2 years ago, no career, no income. I hope that a little of AI marketing does not push you away from the team's hard work. Archie
Temporary images for furniture and clothing icons within the game, some promotional materials and banners, text translation, and some temporary sound files were created using AI. All in-game content will be replaced with human-made work before the game’s release.
This game was developed using an agentic AI coding tool, the code was written with AI assistance, under the design, direction, and review of the developer. The game contains no AI-generated assets — models and textures are generated procedurally in-engine, audio (sound effects and music) is pre-synthesized with the developer's own non-AI DSP tools, and UI text uses system fonts. No AI content is generated at runtime.
Some in-game assets, including textures / background art / sound effects / narrative texts, were created with the help of generative AI tools during development. All AI-generated content has been reviewed and manually adjusted to ensure it meets the game's quality standards and does not contain any infringing or inappropriate material.
