Public Steam disclosure research 25,508 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
Certain artworks displayed within some houses were created using AI.
Some audio files used in the game are temporary AI-generated placeholders and will be replaced in the final version.
WilderLands uses AI to simulate NPC behavior and societies through reinforcement and deep learning. AI agents adapt to the environment, form communities, make decisions, and learn over time. They are not controlled by the player but evolve independently, creating personalized gameplay and unpredictable outcomes.
AI was used in the creation of 2D artwork, as well as music and sound effects in the game.
Some store page and library artworks were created using generative AI. All AI-generated images were manually edited, enhanced, and finalized by the developer. No AI was used for gameplay assets, models, sounds, or UI elements.
AI tools were used to rapidly prototype imagery and narrative beats, while collaborating with human partners to ensure cohesion and polish.

AI generated concept art for marketing
Some store page images were created with the help of AI. Our game artist uses AI tools to support and accelerate the creative process for certain designs.
Used for some texture generating.
Most of the images, backgrounds and some texts in this game are AI-generated.
During the development process, in almost every aspect I use procedural and AI‑based tools to assist with content creation (e.g., generating code, auto‑filling code, making lunch receipts).
We used AI tools to assist in the creation of the game's music tracks.
A few art reference and images were generated using AI tools. All core gameplay, environments, concept art, 2D and 3D animations, paintings and the rest of the game content are fully handcrafted and developed by our team.
LLM generates officer persona and dialogue each checkpoint. Player input is classified, updating Suspicion immediately.
We used generative AI tools to help us create some of the pictures of this store page.
Our game features AI-powered character interactions using advanced language models. Players can engage in dynamic, natural conversations with in-game characters, making each experience unique and immersive."
Some game icons and user interface elements were created using AI image generation tools during development.
This game uses generative AI to create some visual assets. Specifically, we used AI generated artwork for certain marketing materials on the Steam store (capsules, headers, and logos), as well as a limited number of in-game illustrative images. All AI generated content has been reviewed, edited, and approved by our team to ensure originality, consistency, and compliance with Steam’s content policies. The gameplay itself, core art assets, and all game systems were created directly by our team.
I received help from AI only for some of the images on perk icons due to my art skills not being sufficient.
Art and Graphics for Arena II were generated using AI models.
In the early stages of development, localization uses a mix of AI-assisted translation and human review out of necessity. The shift to full human localization is planned the moment the project can support it.
In our game, we only used basic AI for the banner background image. Apart from that, every line of code belongs to us.
Some textures include visual elements partially created with AI (e.g., artwork on a CD cover). All final assets were assembled, edited, and implemented by the developer.
Artificial intelligence was only used to create music in the demo version teaser.
Use AI-generated images and convert them into paintings to use as concept art for the main menu and in-game simulated advertising images. Use AI to create images for in-game currency. Use ChatGPT to create lyrics for the theme song.
Some of the 3D models and images were created using generative AI.
AI tools were used to assist development, e.g used for writing basic code.

One of the sky textures is AI-generated.
This game uses AI technology for translations and parts of the logo.
I’m a solo dev running a creative experiment: every texture, model, sound, music loop and even code started life in generative AI tools that I run locally, before the build ships. No marketplace packs, no outsourcing. Nothing is generated while you play and the game never sends data outside your PC. Crimson System is my proof-of-concept for how far one person (plus a few neural nets) can push a retro FPS.
AI tools were used during development to assist with asset creation, texture generation, and development workflows. All AI-generated content was reviewed, modified, and curated by the development team.
“Don’t Hang Up” uses generative AI voice technology (via ElevenLabs) to bring the anonymous phone calls to life. These AI-generated voices enhance immersion and help deliver the story in a unique, atmospheric way. No user data is collected or processed by AI systems.
Some textures and visual assets were generated using AI to enhance the game's atmosphere.
Used in some of the game assets
During the development of this game, AI tools were utilized to assist with some technical aspects, such as coding and problem-solving. The game itself, as experienced by players, does not contain any live AI or connect to external AI services.

Pre-rendered images of some products, and store page, were AI generated.
Psychedelic Dream does not use artificial intelligence as an interactive feature for the player. The game contains no systems that allow the player to generate text, images, voices, or any other content through AI. All elements in the game are pre-produced and static. Any AI-generated images used during development (such as certain backgrounds or textures) are static, manually edited, and not affected by player actions. The player has no direct contact with or influence over any AI system in the game. In short: The game does not use AI in any way that impacts the player's experience or gives them the ability to generate content themselves.
AI tools have been used to generate concepts for key art and visual style explorations.
Music: AI was used to generate the initial tracks, but every song was then heavily edited, rearranged, and mastered by a human. Nothing went straight from the algorithm to your headphones.
The promotional video in the game uses MIDJOURNEY to generate keyframe images and AI video generation software to synthesize animated videos of "past events" in the game. In the inspiration for building some game models, AI concept image production experiments were used
Some characters and other assets in the game were generated using AI. The game’s music was created with the assistance of AI tools.
Since we don't have graphics designers, we used some AI-generated images for the store page and marketing materials.
Some visual elements in Escoba were created using artificial intelligence-assisted tools. Specifically: The achievement icons were generated with the help of AI to achieve a consistent and stylised appearance. Some visual elements in the shop, such as the background illustrations featuring page, were also generated using AI and then manually edited to fit the overall aesthetic of the game. No playable characters, animations, or core gameplay graphics were created using AI. AI-generated elements are limited to supporting visual content, and all art was reviewed and polished by human artists before being included in the game.
