AI assisted.
Some 2D art assets and music in this game were created with the assistance of generative AI during development. All such content was reviewed, edited, and curated by the developer. The game does not generate any AI content in real time.
Generative AI tools were used to create some of the pre-generated music included in the game. No live-generated AI content is used.
Generative AI tools were used only as a development assistant to help prototype and refine accessibility-related code and interface behavior. The game does not include AI-generated narrative, artwork, audio, characters, translations, or live-generated AI content.
This is a visual novel independently developed by an individual with no budget. It is based on an existing novel, with parts of the narrative text synthesized and refined using AI, which has been repeatedly checked, edited, and approved by the developer. The game's scenes and character models are also AI-generated, and have undergone extensive debugging, deletion, revision, and final confirmation before release to ensure compliance and quality.
Generative AI tools were used as development assistants for portions of game code, UI text, localization, and the preparation of some store-page copy and marketing layouts. All results were reviewed and edited by the developer. No generative AI is used during gameplay, and the game does not connect to external AI services.
Some minor UI decorative elements were created with reference to AI-generated images and were manually redrawn and refined by the developer.
During development, we used two images generated by AI as final in-game assets. We acknowledge that this does not align with our general approach of creating content manually, and we plan to replace them with original artwork in one of the upcoming updates. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
This game includes some character artwork and UI elements created with the assistance of generative AI.
AI was primarily used to assist in the creation of the game's music and sound effects. Developed under human creative direction with extensive generative AI assistance for game code, systems implementation, and visual/marketing assets. No generative AI runs live during play.
NyanDrop uses AI tools in parts of its development process, including the creation of some of the pixel artwork used in the game and on the store page, the sound effects and music, and the writing and translation of text shown in the game and on the store page. All such output is generated and reviewed in advance before being incorporated into the product, and no generative AI runs during gameplay.
Some AI-generated images are used for in-game questions and were reviewed by the developer.
Some 2D character portraits, sprites, item and environment artwork, and store promotional images were created from drafts produced with generative AI tools. AI-assisted tools were used during development. All final content was reviewed and approved by the developer. No AI content is generated during gameplay.
All art, music and story are 100% human created. All voice acting has a live voice actor recording/performance for every line of dialogue, voice changers were used on certain characters to pitch the sound higher or lower to better suit those specific characters. Some artist-created hand-painted assets were positioned into specific starting poses and ending poses, with in-between frames generated (affecting less-than 1% of the game animations, majority (99%) are animated by hand using 2D-bone-rigging and frame-by-frame animation), some generated in-between frames were then hand-painted over before being included in the game.
Generative AI tools were used during development to assist with concept artwork, selected in-game visual assets, and portions of written content and code. All AI-assisted material was reviewed, curated, edited, and integrated by the developer. The game does not generate AI content during gameplay.
Generative AI tools were used as production assistance for portions of the game's 2D artwork, character voices, and localization. All such content is pre-generated and manually reviewed before release. The game does not generate content with AI during play.
Generative AI tools were used to assist with programming, debugging, and improving written content. However, the developer remained fully responsible for the game's design, direction, overall programming, integration, testing, and all final decisions. A few small things like code organization & small images.
Generative AI tools were used during development to create most of the game's code and assist with localization, including some store-page text. All AI-assisted outputs were manually reviewed, edited, tested, and integrated by the developer. No artwork, character designs, animations, music, sound effects, or other visual or audio assets were generated using AI. The game does not use live-generated AI during gameplay.
Generative AI was used as a development aid to assist with parts of the game's user interface and some programming tasks during development. All AI-assisted code and assets have been reviewed, modified, and integrated by the developer. Pre-generated generative AI tools were used during development to assist in creating promotional artwork, background graphics, and card concept visuals.
Live-generated: Pixie's chat feature generates the pet's replies with a language model that ships inside the product and runs entirely on the player's own computer. There is no third-party AI service, no API key and no account of any kind; the feature makes no network requests at all and works with the machine fully offline. The model is Gemma 4 E2B, licensed under the Apache License 2.0 and redistributed with the notices required by that license. Pre-generated: written text in the product and on this store page — including the interface strings and their translations into the supported languages — was produced with the help of an AI writing assistant. All art, animation and characters are hand-made: every sprite is drawn at runtime by a parametric pixel renderer written for this project, with no generative AI involved at any stage. Camera and microphone input are processed entirely on-device (MediaPipe) and are never sent to any server.
The key art used in this game's store capsules and cover was created with the assistance of generative AI tools, then edited and composited by the developer (logo and layout added manually). AI tools were also used to assist with translating menu text and store page descriptions. All gameplay content — code, in-game sprites, animations, music, and sound effects — was created by human artists or licensed from human-made asset packs. No AI-generated content appears in the game itself.
Most of the 2D art in Abys Orbit is AI-assisted, generated with Google Gemini during development. Ship and NPC sprite sheets begin as Gemini concept images, are converted to 3D meshes with Meshy.ai, and are then rendered to 2D sprites in Blender. One dashboard background is a NASA public-domain photograph revised with AI. All AI-generated assets are reviewed and edited by us before shipping. The following content is NOT AI-generated: rank insignia (drawn by hand in Adobe Illustrator), the Scout ship model (a commercially licensed 3D asset rendered in 3ds Max), UI and research icons (licensed from CraftPix under their commercial license), two NASA public-domain images, and all audio, which we produced ourselves. No AI-generated content is created at runtime; all generation happens during development.

Some of the game's resources (art assets, some promotional images on the store page, code, etc.) were completed with the help of AI to achieve better artistic effects.
Some of the game’s visual assets were created with the assistance of generative AI. All generated artwork is reviewed, edited, refined, and adapted by the development team to maintain a consistent visual identity and ensure that it matches the game’s artistic direction and design choices. This approach was necessary due to the high cost of commissioning the full amount of artwork required from one or more professional artists or illustrators. Using AI-assisted tools helped keep the project financially viable, speed up production, and bring the game to players sooner while preserving a cohesive and recognizable style.
These translations were generated with the help of AI. As an indie developer, I currently don't have the budget to hire professional translators, but I hope to do so in the future.
