Public Steam disclosure research 25,376 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.

AI generated character-art using Midjourney license used during the story segments. Some gameplay scripts were coded using ChatGPT for assistance.
We used generative AI tools to create code, concept art, pixel art sprites, background environments, and store page graphics. All AI-generated content was reviewed and edited by our team. No AI content is generated during gameplay.
AI was used in the process of creating backgrounds. Please be patient while we hone our digital art skills. Thank you for your understanding!
We use a picture ai like Midjourney to generate pictures. We use those picture to combine them with each other in after effects or davinci and then we animate them and put them into our Cards

This was only used to create the game trailer.
Some card & store page artwork are ai assisted.
Solo dev and 3D artist here. Most of the poster decorations hung on the walls of the workshop are AI generated. Also a small amount of boxes have AI generated parts of the textures later composed together. I would say that in the full game about 2%-3% of the textures are AI generated.

ChatGPT was used to localize in game and Store Page text.
This game features AI-generated content to enhance the experience. AI is used to assist in creating in-game images, text, music, and sound effects, helping to shape the atmospheric world. Every AI-generated asset is carefully curated and refined to fit the game's style, ensuring a high-quality and cohesive experience.
We use AI to proof read and sometimes edit our Lore texts
We got help from AI while creating the store page
Some World War 2 propaganda posters were made with AI then edited with Photoshop.
We've created voice lines for the player's hub A.I. companion, known as L.A.N.A. (short for Logical Artificial Neural Assistant), to narrate tutorial texts. They are all pre-rendered.
All dialogs texts, code, songs and pixelart assets in game were CREATED BY US MANUALLY. AI is used to help on illustration's creation. The illustrations on dialogs and title screen even though we make our tweaks, changes, edit and compile multiple results to get our desired result.
Some graphic assets used in this game and its marketing materials were created with the help of generative AI tools. These primarily include the cartoon-style images, such as perks, characters, and items.
AI was used to create some of the game's characters
Used for creating the game banner
The game uses AI generated art for dragons, items, perks, landscapes and creatures. Map, UI elements, battle effects and steam capsule are made by human beings.
We have used AI generative for two images. first was in the main menu, second was in the end of the game.
AI was used a bit for 2D artwork.
Static 2D art, such as background images, are AI generated.
We used AI to translate the game and the store page. We then had everything proofread and corrected by native speakers for each language.
Pre-generated AI images
AI was used to generate store page images and in-game loading screens including the logo. AI was also used to revise some dialogue.
Some visual assets and promotional materials for Rimal were created or enhanced using generative AI tools during development. All gameplay mechanics, progression systems, and core game logic are fully designed and controlled by the development team. No AI-generated content is created dynamically during gameplay.
Art and Music was generated by AI. Please note that we want to respect artists. No artist name or artist art have been used as reference for prompting. And the art used is very generic and doesn't not infringe any IP.
The game uses real-time AI models to simulate immersive conversations with the non-player characters you meet in-game. Each character has a hand-written backstory that impacts how the conversation goes. This technology complements the manual worldbuilding and lore writing, and I would love your feedback on how well you think this works!
AI-generated content has been used and then edited by our team for certain parts of the in-game voices, music, and graphics. This content is included in: ・Some parts of the background signboard textures ・Some parts of the Records images ・Some parts of the InfoCast videos ・Some parts of the voices and music
The intro video was created by reprocessing AI-generated footage. 30% of the English and Chinese translations, excluding Korean, were generated by AI. Other languages were mostly translated by AI.
Use of AI for Artistic Elements: In Z Ops: Deadzone, we use artificial intelligence to generate certain artistic assets, including characters, environments, and icons. AI allows us to explore a wide variety of visual styles and create graphical elements more efficiently. Each AI-generated asset is carefully refined to ensure it aligns with the overall art direction of the game and integrates seamlessly into the game’s universe. This approach helps speed up the creative process while maintaining a consistent and immersive quality.
Some names, texts and images are based on AI generation.
Enhanced Visuals with AI-Generated Art In our game, we've utilized generative AI art to create unique assets that enhance your experience. This includes visually striking loading screens and engaging menu backgrounds, all designed with AI technology for an aesthetically pleasing gaming environment. Simple yet effective, this approach adds a distinctive touch to your gameplay experience.
We use graphical asset generation for items like Menus, Backgrounds, or any assets which will help improve the User Interface. All AI generated content is carefully reviewed, regulated, and adjusted to fit our game before being rendered.
Image generation is used for in-game elements such as posters
This game uses generative AI during its development to create a limited number of pre-rendered assets. Specifically, some of the static loading screen art was created with the assistance of AI tools. All of these assets were finalized and reviewed by our team before the game's release to ensure they meet quality standards and adhere to Steam's content policies. There is no live or real-time AI generation of content while the game is running.
Some sprites in game were created with the use of AI.
Background images in this game partially contains AI generated content that is post-processed by hand and given final touches to best suit the game's thematics. "The City" does not conform to this, and is created from the ground up by the fine hands of the creators and artists.
Nothorian is an original work developed by our creative team. Some artwork and promotional text were assisted by AI tools (GPT) during development. No AI content is generated during gameplay, and all content has been carefully reviewed and adapted by humans. We use it as a support tool for some things (as almost everyone does these days), but our team designed the story and the entire game and oversaw everything. There is no crazy or dangerous real-time generation.
AI is used to generate text for some specific NPCs with non-interactive dialogue.
Generative AI is used for translations into languages I do not master and to create early 3D model prototypes. These prototypes are manually refined before being integrated into the game. No generative AI is used during gameplay or to dynamically generate in-game content.
We have used open source LLMs trained on our game's lore and dialogue to generate quests. We have used our own private NeRF systems to generate some 3D models. Some of our marketing materials, game icons, and concept art was generated using art we had designers create under contract for this game. That art was used to train an open source generative system.
There was AI image generation used for creating bases for some environment textures, those bases were heavily modified by hand to fit the game from the original texture spit out by AI.
A few background concepts were generated with AI that retains respect to artist copyright (Adobe Firefly) but we are still working on reworking these few instances with our art team!
This game uses Google-translate for language localization for languages other then English.
For the MVP of the Development version of the game 3D models, 2D sprites, sound and music are part wise AI generated. These assets will not be used for the release of the game but instead replaced by human-made assets.
We have used AI-generated content for player-selectable BGM and cover images in the game lobby, as well as voice-overs. Among these, all voice-overs have been completely replaced with professional voice actors' recordings in time for the Early Access release. We are currently conducting an internal investigation regarding unconfirmed content, and all confirmed AI-generated assets will be replaced with human-created assets by the official 1.0 release.
