Public Steam disclosure research 25,380 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.

Some placeholder assets in early versions are AI generated.
Generative AI tools were used during development to create some artwork, music and sound effects, and to prepare store and promotional artwork based on gameplay captures. These assets are prepared in advance. The game does not generate AI content during gameplay or connect to external AI services.
This game has been created by a solo developer with 30 years of experience. It is not until now with the assistance of generative AI coding that I have been able to truly bring my visions to life in a timely manor. I hope you enjoy it.
This game uses generative AI tools for some image assets and translations. All AI-generated materials are reviewed, adjusted, and edited by the development team before being used in the game.
This game's early development utilized local AI systems for generating initial ideas and imagery surrounding the stage layouts and the initial musical passages, then further edited manually through various pieces of software (Art software and DAWs + numerous VSTs).
AI assisted artwork is used for illustrated scenes shown between campaign levels.
AI-assisted artwork was used for store marketing assets. The shipped game does not generate content during gameplay and does not connect to an AI service at runtime.
AI Disclosure: Certain background textures, NPC portrait concepts, or promotional marketing assets in this game were generated with the assistance of AI tools.
For now, AI/computer-generated audio is utilized for the limited express automated announcements
AI was used to generate the voices for cutscene. No other AI was used in the making of this product.
Generative AI was used for the translation of this game.
Generative AI was used to assist in creating some character illustrations, background images, and localized text. All generated content was reviewed, edited, and adjusted by the developer before being implemented in the game. The game does not generate any AI content in real time during gameplay.
Generative AI assisted with selected original visual assets used by Tater Tube Player, including mascot illustrations, fictional demo artwork, Discovery category art, and Tube TV channel logos. These assets were reviewed before inclusion and do not contain third-party movie or television artwork. During use, the optional Tater Picks feature can generate short recommendation explanations and a synthesized voice briefing based on titles in the user’s own Tater Tube Server library and viewing history. Tater Picks requires the user to configure Tater Link separately, does not accept free-form prompts through the Player, and is hidden when not configured. It does not generate movies, television programs, music, or other playable media.
Localization features are AI-assisted.
CyberSprawl: Survivors contains pre-generated visual art, written content, sound effects, and other assets created or assisted with generative AI tools, then curated and integrated by the development team. Generative AI also assists development, including code. No AI generates content during gameplay, and the game does not connect to external AI services while you play.
Generative AI tools were used during development to assist in the creation and refinement of selected visual, audio and promotional assets. All AI-assisted content is reviewed and curated by the development team before being included in the game or its marketing materials.
Text, some textures
Some of this game's content was created with the assistance of generative AI tools during development: portions of the game's code, some text, and music tracks, and is reviewed by the developer before shipping. The game does not generate AI content at runtime.
Generative AI is used to localize (translate) in-game text.
The game uses pre-generated AI-generated voice acting for character dialogue, narration, and promotional trailer voice-over. All AI-generated voice content is produced in advance and reviewed by the development team before being included in the game or its Steam store assets. No AI content is generated live while the game is running.
Pre-generated AI artwork was used for characters, enemies, bosses, environments, interface icons, and store and promotional artwork. These assets were selected, edited, and integrated during development. The game does not generate AI content during play or connect to external AI services.
Pre-generated AI content: TROPHY FLEET's visual assets and its synthetic character voice performances were produced using AI image and voice generation as a starting point during development. Every generated asset was then selected, chroma-keyed against a solid key background, retouched, resized and hand-aligned by the developer before shipping. Boss artwork is collision-aligned to gameplay: each visible weak point on a boss sprite corresponds to an actual targetable hitbox at that exact position. Source masters and shipped runtime assets are both retained in the project repository. The soundtrack is not AI-generated. It consists of 39 CC0-licensed music tracks, curated per world and normalized to -16 LUFS, with full attribution shipped in the game's THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES file. All game design, code, level authoring, enemy behaviour, boss mechanics and balance systems are the developer's own work. The game generates no content while it is running. It sends no player data or prompts to any AI service or any other service, requires no network connection, and functions fully offline.
The background music in the game was created with the assistance of generative AI tools.
Used to speed up coding and improve performance.
Generative AI tools were used during development to create some pre-generated visual artwork used in marketing/store assets and some pre-generated background music used in the game. The game does not use generative AI to create content during gameplay.
Generative AI tools were used to assist with programming and code development. All generated code was reviewed, modified, and tested by the developer.
AI helped me to solve complex math problem and manage the game save. some hints/tips
Music and some sprites created with the help of procedural generation. Store presence created with the assistance of AI.
Images, and some sounds are generated via ai.
Development used generative AI tools to create pre-generated visual assets: seven battlefield and escalation backgrounds, twenty-six combat-art atlases, and one progression-card atlas (34 bitmap files total). AI tools also helped translate the store page and in-game text from the original, manually written English into eight languages. All generated content is pre-generated and curated; the game does not generate content while running. No third-party logos, characters, or source art were used as image-generation references.
Generative AI tools were used during development to assist with selected pre-generated visual references, 3D vehicle and cosmetic assets, promotional images and video, and draft localization. All AI-assisted content was reviewed, edited, curated, and integrated by the developer. The game does not generate AI content during gameplay and does not connect to external AI services.
Some images were created using existing game assets, which were then reworked with AI to enhance the sense of space and atmosphere.
AI was used to help with logos and game development.
Generative AI was used during development for early visual exploration and as a creative assistance tool. Any AI-assisted visual material included in the game or store assets is substantially edited and art-directed by the developer. Final game art, visual design, and implementation are created and curated by the developer. No generative AI is used during gameplay.
Parts of this game's art, music and translations were created with AI tools during development and edited by hand. They ship as fixed assets — nothing is generated by AI while you play.
We are actively working to replace all placeholder AI art before launch. While we aim for a fully human-crafted experience, a few minor assets may still remain at release. AI tools were also used to assist with localizing the game and store page. All 3D in-game art was created by human artists or derived from real-world museum photoscans. (See the credits menu for full attributions.)
Pre-generated AI was used for background music and ambient soundtrack generation. No live AI generation is used in the game.
Since we’re a very small team, we use generative AI for a small part of the development process, for example, to create graphical placeholders like icons or background images, or to localize newly added text. The vast majority of the game was localized by humans; only new text is machine-translated in order to include as many players as possible. The voice in the game is text-to-speech, not AI.
WICKLING was built with AI assistance. Generative AI was used during development to help write the game's code, its pixel art, its level layouts and some of its writing, and to help produce this store page and its artwork. The soundtrack is not AI-generated. Every note is a hand-written 2A03 chiptune, synthesised by the game as it runs rather than played back from audio files, which is why the horror systems can bend the music live. Nothing in WICKLING is generated while you play. Every level, sprite, line of text and piece of music is fixed and identical for every player, and the game makes no network requests of any kind.
"In-game cinematic intro uses pre-generated AI video clips that were manually edited, paced, and layered with original text in OpenShot. Character sprites are based on original artwork that was digitized and enhanced for detail using Gemini, then animated in Krita."
AI tools were used during development to assist with parts of the workflow, including code, materials, graphics, and other production tasks. All generated content was reviewed, adjusted, integrated, and refined as part of the game’s development process.
AI tools were used during development to assist with code, artwork, music, and other production tasks. All creative direction, design decisions, implementation, integration, testing, and final selection of content were handled by the developer.
Pre-generated AI tools were used to create some artwork, including store promotional art and in-game character portraits, and some music and audio assets. These assets are prepared before play. Pocket Dynasty does not use generative AI services to create content during gameplay; its football simulation and computer-controlled teams use programmed game systems.
Generative AI was used only to assist in the creation of marketing materials for the game. No in-game content was generated using AI.
Since I'm working on the game by oneself, I use AI for some 3D models and some instruments (synthesizers, pads) in the music tracks.
Parts of the artwork were created with generative AI tools and then retouched by hand: several background illustrations, the title logo, and the store page capsule images. Text outside Japanese — the in-game English and the store page translations — was produced with the help of AI. Nothing is generated by AI while the game is running.
During our creative processes, we may use modern digital tools that include AI-based features to assist with content creation, such as language translation or voice acting. This helps us stay innovative without losing sight of what makes our games truly unique, while ensuring the final product preserves the distinctive style and quality our development team strives for.
Store promotional art and some in‑game model and texture assets are created using generative AI.
You used ChatGPT-generated images for the logo, menu backgrounds and store capsules.
