Where do games disclose AI use?
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across
games, and follow recorded changes.
This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to
statements published on individual store pages.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam.
Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
AI tools were used only to assist with translating in-game text into supported languages. No AI-generated images, music, audio, or 3D models were used. The game does not generate AI content during gameplay.
Its creative direction and artistic content are rooted in human creativity and craftsmanship.
ARIA's dialogue and speech are generated on the player's own machine at runtime by a language model and a text-to-speech voice that ship with the game. Nothing is sent to an external service and no player data leaves the machine. What ARIA says is constrained to the station's fiction and to evidence the player has actually found in-game. Some art, audio and text assets in the game were produced with AI tools and reviewed by the developer before shipping.
Generative AI tools were used during development to assist in the creation of some visual and 3D assets. All generated content was reviewed, edited, and integrated by the developer.
This game includes pre-generated visual and auditory
assets created with the assistance of generative AI. These assets have been reviewed, edited, and integrated by the development team. The game does not use generative AI to create content while players are playing.
We used AI as a supporting tool to translate and proofread the in-game text. Every translation was reviewed and adjusted by our team before it went into the game.
The game engine is written with substantial AI assistance.
Some dialogues and quest texts are AI generated, and are successively replaced by human-written dialogue. Every piece of flavor text has a label that states the author (human or ai).
The 3D character models are currently generated with AI, and then transformed through a custom pipeline to work with the text-based graphics and CPU rendering. It is possible to replace them with manually crafted models.
The campaign's spoken dialogue is AI-generated speech. Over 650 lines were produced with ElevenLabs under a paid plan that licenses commercial use of the output. I wrote every line of that dialogue myself - the writing is mine, the performance is synthetic. I would prefer human voice actors and intend to replace these recordings when the project can afford it.
No AI-generated art ships in the game. Every ship, station and environment mesh is either licensed art or made by me. A set of AI-generated 3D models was removed from the project in July 2026.
The combat and zone music tracks are AI-generated songs I made with Suno on a paid plan that grants commercial-use rights to the output. The remaining music and all sound effects are licensed audio packs and my own work.
As a solo developer with a very limited budget, the character voices were temporarily generated using AI voice synthesis (ElevenLabs).
Our goal is to replace all generated voices with performances by human voice actors as soon as the project secures sufficient funding (through sales, crowdfunding, or community support). Thank you for your understanding and for supporting indie game development!
No generative AI content is created in real time while the game is running.
Generative AI is used to story board, code, analyze code, analyze performance, create thumbnails and many basic tasks like that to speed up workflows. We pay human artists for things like zombies, guns, props, static meshes etc.
Some background environment props and their textures (signage, lamps,
surfaces, decals and small set-dressing objects) were generated with AI
assistance, using AI written procedural code rather than an image or mesh
generator. They ship with the game as scenery.
Everything else is the developer's own work: all writing and in-game text,
game design, game code, audio and sound design, the visual identity, and all
store page art.
No AI generated content is produced while the game is running.
This game was made with the help of generative AI.
AI tools were used during development to create visual assets, sound and music, parts
of the source code, and the translations of this page and the in-game text. Everything
was chosen, edited and assembled by hand before release.
Nothing is generated while you play — all content ships with the game.
Some of the visual and audio assets in Subject 4471 were created with the assistance of generative AI tools during development. All AI-generated content was reviewed, curated, and edited by the developer to ensure it is appropriate, and the developer has taken steps to ensure it holds the rights necessary to use this content. This game does not generate any AI content in real time during gameplay.
AI is used solely to assist with development, such as for some localization and the creation of internal tools.
The game does not include any features that automatically generate content in real-time during gameplay.
AI tools assisted historical card wording, interface and rules text, Japanese translations, and original procedural game and marketing artwork. Cards include source references. No generative AI runs during gameplay.
As a solo developer, I used AI text-to-speech to voice characters. Everything else, including 3D models, textures, writing, and design, was made by me.
Generative AI tools are used during development to create some 3D assets as Place Holders and assist with Art/ music Content. These materials are prepared in advance and incorporated into the game or its store page. The game does not generate content using generative AI during gameplay.
Some character voice recordings are also created using generative AI.
AI-generated content is used exclusively for promotional/store
library imagery (e.g. store capsule and library artwork). No
in-game assets — textures, models, environments, weapons, or
character art used during gameplay — are AI-generated. All
gameplay-facing art is sourced from licensed marketplace asset
packs or created manually.
Generative AI tools were used during development to help create portions of the artwork and promotional imagery, prerecorded voice-over, and some game text and localization. These materials are prepared in advance. The game does not generate AI content during gameplay or connect to external generative AI services.
Generative AI tool TRAE was used during development to assist in writing portions of the codebase. The visual elements presented in-game — including the target spheres, ground plane, and sky — are directly generated by this code. The generation logic for the ground texture was produced with TRAE and was reviewed and approved by the developer before shipping in the final build. All AI-assisted visual content has been reviewed by the developer to ensure it meets expectations and platform standards. This software does not include any live-generated AI content at runtime.
Generative AI was used as an assistive development tool for programming, debugging and technical problem solving. Some developer created 2D concepts may also be refined using generative AI. Final creative direction, editing, implementation, game design and level design are handled by the developer.
Generative AI tools were used to assist with the creation and refinement of some pre-generated 3D assets and localization. All AI-assisted content was reviewed, edited, and integrated by the developer. The game does not use generative AI to create content during gameplay.
Generative AI was used during development as an assistive tool for code prototyping and localization, and to create some pre-generated visual content, including fictional patient photographs used as environmental and narrative elements in the game. AI-generated concept art is used only as internal visual reference and is not included as game assets.
All AI-generated content included in the game is pre-generated. No generative AI runs during gameplay. Final level design, asset placement, gameplay systems, narrative implementation, and asset integration are created and assembled by the developer.
Some store and library capsule art was produced with image-generation tools
(SDXL and a chat assistant) using our own in-game screenshots as the input
image. The underlying game content -- models, textures, code, text -- is
authored by us without generative AI. All generated art was reviewed by us
before publication.
Pre-generated generative AI was used to create some 2D visual assets, including selected in-game sign textures and store/marketing artwork. No generative AI is used during gameplay.
Generative AI tools were used during development to assist with the creation of certain pre-generated visual and 3D art assets used in the game. AI-assisted content is reviewed, selected, edited, and integrated by the developer. Hollowfall does not generate AI content during gameplay.
We use generative AI across all disciplines of game development with heavy amounts of human editing. That involves audio and visual art. We use it as a productivity tool so we can achieve a higher level of quality, faster, than we would have been able to.
・Some of the posters were created using generative AI (ChatGPT and Gemini).
・Some of the voices were created using generative AI (Ondoku).
・The translations were created using generative AI (Gemini).
The voice lines in this game were generated using AI text-to-speech tools. We are a small team of two people, and professional voice acting was beyond the budget of this project.
A handful of key art pieces, concept illustrations, and store-page graphics were generated with AI image-generation software to help communicate. This use of AI is limited strictly to marketing materials.
Some promotional artwork for this game (such as the store capsule image)
was created with the help of generative AI tools and then edited by hand.
