Public Steam disclosure research25,380 disclosures tracked
Where do games disclose AI use?
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across
games, and follow recorded changes.
This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to
statements published on individual store pages.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam.
Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
Generative AI is used solely during development for supplemental, non-essential purposes, including unit testing or the creation of certain art elements. These AI-generated outputs are limited in scope, reviewed by our development team, and never substituted human creative or technical decision-making. All final core assets and game content are created entirely by Wargaming’s artists and developers.
During the development process, we may use procedural- and AI-based tools to assist with content creation. In all such cases, the final product reflects the creativity and expression of our own development team. Examples include voiceover audio, sound effects, music.
We are developing our own in-house machine-learning model which is trained on publicly available open-source data and vetted to prevent the use of any copyrighted material. This ML model is used to generate base terrain maps in Unreal Engine 5 which are then populated procedurally with custom made assets such as the trees, rivers, rocks, and hills you explore. Our artists and designers use our ML model to allow us to generate 64km2 maps that look and feel natural and realistic. The game generates a new map offline on your system every time you play.
Our game uses AI in a limited, supportive capacity. Specifically, AI occasionally assists in generating generic background elements or provides base inspiration through photobashing, which our artists then extensively modify. All AI-generated content is subject to significant human alteration to meet our artistic standards, ensure alignment with our creative vision, and faithfully represent the Wheel of Time canon.
The primary game assets, including nearly all in-game elements, are fully developed in 3D using traditional modeling techniques. AI, at present, does not meet our quality standards for these core assets. Instead, AI serves as a creative tool for pre-rendered 2D art pieces, which are heavily customized by our team.
Our game does not use AI for any live generation or dynamic content during gameplay. All portrayals of familiar characters, places, and items from The Wheel of Time books are created by Aether Games under full authorization and license.
We used generative AI tools to create base 3D meshes for some of the NPCs and initial compositions for achievement icons. These assets were not used 'as-is'; our team manually performed UV unwrapping, created custom texture masks, and modified the materials to ensure they work with our custom-made in-game shaders. This manual rework allows the assets to match our game’s unique visual style, performance standards, and lighting requirements.
I've used AI to help create concept art, help outline some general story and eventually voice acting until I can afford to pay someone to do all of those things.
In the early stages of game development, we utilized AI technology to generate NPC voice-overs, scene skyboxes, and song covers to enhance the gaming experience. Based on user feedback, we will consider making optimizations and replacements in the official release. We look forward to your valuable input!
As a small indie team, we may use procedural and/or AI-based tools to assist with the development process. In all such cases, the final product reflects the creativity and expression of our own development team.
Yes it only uses pre-generated AI artwork on the store page. This game does not use generative ai within the gameplay. The store page features some basic ai art assets for the main cover of the game.
Tickle Monster has used the Midjourney AI service to generate most of the images shown in the game. In particular, the 650+ player images were generated using heavily pixelated and manually-edited composite images as source material, and mascots were generated from text inputs. None of the text content is AI-generated, though.

Some of the audio in the work is generated by AI, with a few illustrations and very few scene backgrounds assisted in art production by AI-generated images.
Some static 2D art assets such as key art, loading screens, and promotional images were created using AI-assisted tools and then manually edited by the developer.
The game itself does not use AI to generate any live content, dialogue, or gameplay elements.
Only a small amount of non-core code and the melody of the opening theme in this game are generated by AI; no AI technology is used for the core creative content including core code, gameplay logic and the lyrics composition of the opening theme.
Our game leverages the newest AI technology to enhance your gaming experience! From generative images that improve the visual aspects of the game to AI-driven voiceovers that add depth to every character, our use of AI extends to creating immersive storefront visuals and engaging marketing materials. This approach helps us deliver the game faster and better
AI Voice changing software was used for voice overs to change the voice actors voice into character voices.
Character portraits were drafted by AI and repainted/remastered by an artist.
We used AI to fill in details and at times generate images for some of the store pages. Additionally, the music that is in the background while playing the game was generated using AI tools and services. In all such cases, the final product reflects the creativity and expression of our own development team.
