Public Steam disclosure research25,380 disclosures tracked
Where do games disclose AI use?
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across
games, and follow recorded changes.
This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to
statements published on individual store pages.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam.
Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
We have removed all AI from our game. It has been in Illusion's mechanics previously, but right now it's not.
Please read the article for the AI removal that we posted.
However, we will keep the label until we replace the trailer, which had an AI asset in it (Illusions).
But the game itself does not contain any AI content now.
This game and associated materials uses AI generated audio and visual graphics content. All AI generated content is commercially licensed from the industries leading AI generation platforms.
AI generated images were used to create the base art for cards and maps, which were then edited by a human to meet the standards and match the thematic presentation of the game.
We have inclusions that contain a small amount of use of AI, described below:
1. The background of the "city wall" after the game login interface is an image generated using AI.
2. The Icon in the game is an image generated by AI.
3. The icons for "Moth Factory" and "Spider Factory" are AI-generated images.
AI is used for prerendered textures in the game and also for translations of languages, the manuals, and images for example like achievements, trading cards etc.
Carceri's story portrays a world made by programs, for programs. While ALL the writing, music, and 3D art in this game was created by a single human being, there is an Art Gallery in-game that contains 50 images, 17 of which have been generated by AI, (that are all clearly marked as such). These are fictionally portrayed as art works created by the characters (programs) of this world.
No names of modern, living artists were used to generate these images. The prompts were words such as: Hudson River school, old masters, Delacroix, robots, abstract geometry, landscape. From there, I photo-shopped all images so that none are 100% unaltered from the generation process.
Acknowledging generative imagery's existence is important to the world-building and meta-narrative of Carceri, so this was the fairest way I could think to include a small dose of these works, which are divisive by their very nature.
Whilst building our game “Realms of Alterra”, we have had the unique opportunity to craft our game world around these agents. Building the game world in tandem with the AI has allowed us to simulate societies. I will now go into more detail about the ingredients that make up the technology we have built.
Our characters currently utilize an internal monologue to guide its interactions. This is based on a number of factors such as relationships, feelings, and its observation about the current world. The crucial component that ties it all together is the use of an adaptive long term memory, which allows AIs to recall all interactions its had with different people, as well as significant events that have happened. Relevant memories recalled based on what is happening to the character at the moment.
Our system of emotions allows us to determine how a character is feeling at any given time; These are used to then further guide the behavior of our characters, both in speech and decision making. With regards to autonomy, our agents can freely choose what to do in the world. We accomplish this by making the available actions known to each character, and giving them the option to choose their intention, which is then executed on the game engine.
In the near future we plan to include task planning and reprioritization, which allows each character to dynamically change its priorities, and thus its behaviors, constantly as the world changes around them. In addition to this, we also plan to improve the memory system to include relationship and associative memories, which allow for more complex reasoning and conditioning behaviors
We think that this is the future of RPG gaming. With our technology, we can create a new market of gamer- the social gamer to freely interact in a social simulation sandbox where anything is possible. I can’t be the only one who has wondered what would happen if I just took my pants off in the middle of an important business meeting, how people around me would react, and how my life would change as a result of that interaction. With a social simulation sandbox, these burning questions can be answered!
No AI live-generation content in runtime. The usage of AI was strictly only in the character voices, and CODECs. The CODEC videos are entirely from in-game assets. We have the licenses necessary to use and distribute the AI content included as part of this game.
Icons are currently purchased from 3rd-party asset providers and may be AI-generated. These icons are labeled with a "Placeholder" tag and are planned to be replaced at a later date by a hired artist.
Although some illustrations are still rendered or enhanced by generative artificial intelligence, the game is currently in the process of replacing all AI-generated artwork with non-AI illustrations. Updates will roll out gradually until the transition is complete.
Some lines are generated by AI, using free and open source voice.
Some music is generated by AI, and paid for legal use.
Some pictures and videos are generated by AI, using people who don't exist in reality, and will not involve any copyright issues.
NPC responses are generated in real-time by Chat GPT.
The game is connected to the AI model and generates customized prompts based on player text inputs.
Some of the audio in the work is generated by AI, with a few illustrations and very few scene backgrounds assisted in art production by AI-generated images.
Character images and location sketches are created manually by our artists, but we also use neural networks to speed up the drawing of details. AI isn't used to generate content during gameplay.
AI was used in research to fix/improve the code for the originally buggy rhythm mini games.
That aside, every aspect of Necrophobia (art, story, music, code, etc.) was created by my own human hands, and developed by my own human brain.
This game can guide the male protagonist to draw by hand. Some of the art (background images, NPC character portraits, CG, etc.) and music materials in the game are designed and generated with AI assistance.
The game's backgrounds are started as public domain AI generations and, cropped, shaded, altered & animated by hand.
ChatGPT has been used to translate elvish to phonetic english to be voice recorded for parts of a fantasy radio programme.
Artificial Intelligence was used to pre-generate the written content, gameplay attributes, and images of stories and items.
Artificial Intelligence was used to pre-generate the music and voices of the game's narrators.
Generative AI is used to render concept art for this game. Some textures or materials in future development may be generated using AI. I am a one-man team and use AI to help me visualize the design of the game.
99% of the game assets are drawn by hand, but logo and character portrait references are generated.
Author of this game no longer supports AI generation, does not use it anymore and does not recommend AI generation to anyone.
