Public Steam disclosure research 25,380 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
Some 2d content, some texts and simple sounds was made with AI help, but then than was careful polishing. Thanks all, that you can help to make all it real!
There are a handful of times we've used AI to create details in the background of some of our scenes, but this content is rare and often temporary. We also have an instance of AI generated music - we've got a silly ambient track that plays in the game's end-game-failure-state scene.
The grapics on the shop page is ai generated. Most of the texture in the game are hand-drawn, but some of them are ai-generated. All game levels are hand-crafted in the level editor (everybody who owns the game can do that, too). Enemy behaviour is deterministic and sometimes random; no ai used here.
AI helped with capsule images and some textures.
Generative artificial intelligence was used to create some visual, auditory, and written assets for Disc Golf and its marketing materials. No generative AI is used during gameplay.
Partial generation of promotional materials, partial generation of images illustrating character skills.
AI generated music
The game features AI-generated voiceover technology that performs real-time text-to-speech based on pre-written scripts.
Players can create textures using text prompts, and apply those textures to virtual clothing templates. Our team uses generative AI tools to help develop some in game assets.
AI was used to generate player avatars, banners, and an image for the loading screen.
AI was used to create the in-game visuals and store images for our game.
As I am not a programmer the code in this game is a mix of youtube tutorials and AI generated code.
Many images that take place in game, representing towns and cities were created with the help of artificial intelligence. Generated pieces were not directly taken place in game but used advisory/recommendation manner (eg. to illustrate how a North West city looks in 1940s).
Main store page art and in-game character silhouette in the tutorial were generated using artificial intelligence.
I used AI in the following way: - creating the voices of Ben and Jane - creating a base for further processing and overpainting (images in the intro scene)
Some royalty-free music used in the game was sourced online and may involve the use of AI.
Gen AI used for visual assets
The background images and animal pictures are pre-rendered AI art
Note: Card illustrations in this game were created using AI algorithms.
The backgrounds of the game's start screen and pick screen were pre-generated by me via AI, and some of the in-game icons were generated by the author via AI. Here is their license: License: Assets can be used personally and commercially. You can modify the asset. You cannot re-distribute the files, even modified versions.
Yes, we used AI tools in a limited capacity during the development of our game. Specifically, AI was utilized for certain aspects of the game's text, such as crafting the Steam page description, and for some pieces of code. However, the core development, design, and creative processes were driven by our team(me). The use of AI was supplementary, aimed at enhancing productivity and efficiency, rather than shaping the core elements of the game.
AI has been used for creating various icons for the game, as much as possible is created by hand.
The game allows users to choose cover images for games they develop, the images are created by AI.
We are Generating/Modefieing some Images on our Steam page with KI, this Images are market as done with KI!
AI was used for the visuals of this game.
We used AI technology to generate the music for Proportions. We also used text generation to help us translate the description of Proportions in english.
I use Ai to aid in a variety of topics such as 2D artwork such as UI elements as well as help with ques and dialog ideas. Music is also designed by Ai.
AI was used in the BlueSky/Concepting phase of development to help ideate some designs of characters and UI to save time on our small team. Stable Diffusion using in-house created libraries and loras created from our own original art and not publicly available libraries was used in this process. These concepts are then taken and turned into functional useable game art created by hand, by real artists. Oftentimes this human created art ends up looking nothing like the original concept. No where in the game is any raw AI art used.
The textures of some assets in the background were enhanced using an ai-pipeline.
The puzzle images pre-rendered AI art
AI tools were used during development for coding assistance, icon concepts, and marketing materials. All in-game 3D environments and gameplay are handcrafted.
AI was used to create concept arts.
Some in game assets were textured using AI, namely the clouds and some character clothing
Store art has been assisted with generative AI
No AI content is generated during gameplay. Some art was created with the help of AI, but everything was hand-edited and polished. As a solo indie dev with limited resources, I used AI as a tool — the final style and heart of the game are purely crafted with care.
We've used AI to generate few images of catgirls, which we've used for ingame billboards
AI was used to handle translation of all text in game, on the Steam page and in announcements.
We used artificial intelligence to prepare several assets for the game.
We used ChatGPT to generate some game menu icons and to translate the text.
This game uses AI for generation of temporary assets (like icons) that can be seen in early screenshots or trailers but will be removed before the game is released
This game contains some pre-rendered visual and audio elements.
Environment Detailing Example : Movie Posters
The game uses voice-overs made by AI.
Some of the images were created by AI.
We use AI to make corrections in the game's texts and in the Steam store.
Some icons are generated using AI
This game does not use generative AI to create live gameplay content or code. However, during development and marketing, certain assets were created or assisted using AI tools: Visual assets: Some in-game artwork, UI elements (including icons, buttons, and portraits), as well as promotional visuals used on the Steam store page were initially generated or assisted using AI image generation tools. In addition, achievement icons were created with the help of AI and later manually refined and finalized by the developer to ensure consistency with the game’s artistic direction. Localizations: All translations (except Russian and Ukrainian) were produced using AI-powered translation services without human proofreading. Audio assets: A portion of the sound effects was generated or assisted using AI tools and then mixed, processed, and adjusted by the developer. All AI-assisted content was manually reviewed, edited, and approved by the developer to ensure it aligns with the game’s visual style, tone, and quality standards.
Some pictures on the walls were generated by AI.
The Game store page's art work is generated using AI The commercial Generative Image Generator model guarantee that images are not copyrighted material?
In the creation of Cast Cats, AI was used as an auxiliary tool. Almost all images (including the logo), sounds and music were created by the AI, and later were delicately and manually processed in various editors. Our goal is, first of all, a pleasant aesthetic appearance. And secondly, to show how AI can help to create a beautiful game. But most importantly: All players should feel comfortable and have fun playing the game.
