Public Steam disclosure research 25,383 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.

We use text-generating AI for localization in this game.
We used AI to generate pre-rendered images for the in-game paintings, as well as the opening and ending cutscenes.
AI will be limited to marketing materials and probably some in-game images to improve the graphic quality of the game interface.
In our effort to provide a visually appealing experience, we have incorporated generation tools for some secondary visual elements, such as 2D portraits. Most of the artistic resources that require greater attention to detail have been developed manually. This has allowed us to maintain an artistic standard and ensure that each component of the game reflects a unique and engaging atmosphere.
As a solo developed project generative AI has been used to improve visual quality of concept art, along with the creation of some bespoke 3D assets of the Celestial Isle.
We used AI to create the capsules for the game's store page.
AI generated paintings on wall and localization
The game uses Artificial Intelligence to only generate the main image of the game, that is the logo image, that is shown in the cover of the game, the store pages, and the launch icon.
The music is AI generated. The Chinese translations are AI generated.
AI like ChatGPT is used to check edit dialog and UI texts because English is my second language. Let me know if I made mistakes anyway.
This game uses music generated by AI technology (Suno platform)
Character voices are AI generated.
AI was used to aid in creation of a logo design.
Some images in the game were created using AI.
AI is used in the game to improve the quality of audio tracks.
AI-generated artwork was used during early development, primarily as temporary material while testing and building the game. Much of this artwork has already been replaced, both in the game and on the Steam page, with original work created by commissioned artists and by me. I will continue replacing remaining assets where bespoke artwork meaningfully improves the game, with a strong focus on ensuring that its characters, environments, key visuals, and overall artistic identity are shaped by original artist-created work.
some Audio and Graphics where created with the help of AI
In the game's marketing materials, artificial intelligence was used as a visual component.
As a Solo Developer, AI was used mostly for things that would otherwise take too much time or finance, such as: Voice Lines, SFX, and custom Images. AI type used: Voice Changers, Image Generators, and Audio Generators.
During the development process, I may utilize procedural and AI-based tools to assist in the creation of certain content, including voiceover audio. In all cases, these tools are used as part of the creative process, and the final product reflects my artistic vision and expression as the developer. For example, I may use voice-changer tools or AI-assisted generation to create the voices of characters during in-game dialogues and cutscenes.
The music played within the game utilizes generative AI.
As a two man bootstrapped indie team, achieving our game's vision without AI would have been literally impossible. We have used AI tools such as Midjourney for item icons, some materials in game, & parts of our trailers. We also used AI such as Soundraw.io for our soundtrack in-game, Suno for trailer music, Elevenlabs for voice acting, and a few other AI tools for technical areas of the game.
For the demo of Rise of the Vanguard, we have used AI generation primarily to create temporary character voices. This decision was made due to the realities of being a single-developer studio with no funding or external support, and these AI-generated voices are intended only as a stopgap until we can secure funding and hire dedicated professional voice actors. Beyond this, our use of AI has been limited to standard development tooling, such as IDE line-completion features and AI-assisted debugging, which are customary in modern software development. We do not use AI for narrative design, worldbuilding, or core creative direction, and we strongly support creative professionals and the long-term importance of human-created art and performances.
We only used AI to expand our artworks.
The generated soundtrack
Some of the images used on the store page are AI-generated. Certain images and 3D models used in the game are AI-generated. Some of the text has been created with the assistance of AI. Parts of the programming have been developed with the assistance of AI.
We used AI to generate textures when painting images for the library. The gameplay screenshots do not contain generative content. The game itself, its code and assets do not contain generated content.

AI was used in the creation of the store page material. In game, there are a couple fake advertisement posters scattered for products and services. For example, the insurance advertisement seen in the game trailer.
Some artwork on this page was created with AI assistance.
The AI is used for some parallax backgrounds and for ads
Artificial intelligence has been used to create in-game assets and certain store materials.
Some icons were generated by AI.
IA has been used for the creation of models.
AI-generated artifacts
Some images were created by AI
As a solo developer, I used Generative AI to create minor 2D assets and sprites.
Some 3D models were generated using AI, some music was generated using AI, and some pictures were generated using AI.
Some images of the characters are Ai generated
Some of the graphics for this game were designed by AI, and humans created the dots based on the generated images.
In my game, the main character's voice is AI-generated, and I purchased Eleven Labs' starter pack for it, which gives me the rights for commercial use.
AI was used in the creation of certain visual assets, including character avatars, title screen artwork, promotional materials, and background art. However, these assets still required substantial manual work such as design, sketching, outline drawing, and polishing. The AI was used primarily as a tool for coloring and enhancement, and it did not dictate the creative direction. The visual style remains faithful to the original Little Fighter 2. Some people assume that because AI was used in certain artwork, it must have been applied throughout the entire project. That is far from the truth. I used AI primarily for large-scale visual tasks. To give a clearer picture: the game includes over 3,000 hand-crafted sprite frames, composed from thousands of hand-drawn body parts. In contrast, only about 100 images were AI-assisted, and many of those, such as promotional artwork, don't even appear in the actual game. I understand that some people may have concerns about the use of AI in the creative process. But I hope people can see the broader context and appreciate the amount of manual effort that went into making this game. Please know that I’m a solo developer working with a limited budget. I’ve been developing this project for around 3.5 years; even quitting my full-time job for a year to work on it full time, without expecting it to cover even half of my previous salary. I've done my best to balance quality and practicality. Your understanding and support mean a great deal to me.
In this game, artificial intelligence was used to generate the logo, background images, parts of the music, and voice output.
We're using AI-generated images only for the distant background of the game.
Some images were made with help of AI
The fighter image has been post-processed using legally acquired images, and AI tools were utilized to pixelate the image.
Voiced dialogue may use a Unity Store Asset for AI generated voices as placeholder dialogue for alpha/beta testing of the game and/or demo player testing version. Final launched game will NOT contain any AI generated content.
The only asset that was created with the help of generative AI is the cover (background of the cover for the game was made with the help of AI)
Only on the cover, and for the additional selectable armors.
