Public Steam disclosure research 25,380 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
Use of AI for game translation and some sound effects.
I used AI to create the full logo and the partial logo (texte "Escape Haunted Mansion").
Lumoryn: Whispering Worlds uses Generative AI only to assist in the creation of Steam achievements and their icon artwork displayed on the Steam store. All gameplay systems, world design, characters, quests, dialogue, mechanics, and in-game content are entirely designed and created by human developers. Generative AI is not used for gameplay logic, narrative design, player interactions, or dynamic in-game content.
We would like to inform our players that certain content in this game has been created using AI-assisted pre-rendering techniques. To ensure the highest quality and alignment with our creative vision, all such content has undergone thorough human review and refinement. This hybrid approach allows us to enhance efficiency while maintaining the artistic integrity and attention to detail that we strive to deliver in our work. Thank you for your support and understanding.
Some music and voice lines were made using AI
We use generative AI to simulate the real-world lives of in-game NPCs, giving each their own personality, preferences, memories, and relationship with the player. We also use generative AI to reason about conversations and trigger specific in-game events based on what is said during open-ended conversations. We also use generative AI to further flesh out the world by generating documents and files on each NPC's computer, which the player can browse through.
Small amounts of Ai-generated content has been used to aid in the creation of store page elements, also used for a few 3d assets present in the game.
Murder In Complex utilizes AI to create dynamic NPC interactions, allowing players to engage in realistic conversations with in-game characters. The AI-driven dialogue system ensures each investigation is unique, with suspects responding naturally based on their roles and the player's inquiries. This enhances immersion and replayability, making every case feel fresh and unpredictable.
Some logos, text, in-game translations, and character voices were created with AI assistance. All other gameplay content, including characters, animations, and code, is handcrafted.
In the development of this game, I used AI as a supportive tool to optimize certain workflows, enhance the creative process, and explore new possibilities. While all of the art, coding, and writing were created by me, AI helped streamline repetitive tasks, refine assets, and provide coding insights. My aim was to use AI as an assistant that added value without overshadowing the personal, hands-on approach that defines this game.
SUBDERMAL does not use generative AI during gameplay or while the game is running. No images, audio, text, dialogue, or gameplay content is generated dynamically via AI during play. All assets—including visuals, audio, writing, voice acting, and gameplay systems—are fully authored, fixed, and shipped as part of the final build. What AI Is Not Used For • No real-time AI text generation • No real-time AI image or video generation • No real-time AI voice synthesis • No adaptive AI narrative systems • No AI-based player interaction or chat What AI Was Used During Development Placeholder assets or ideas were assisted during development (concept art drafts, placeholder imagery, writing refinement), but all final in-game content is original, human-authored, and fully static except a small minority of AI-generated textures that appear on certain objects. This development-phase AI usage does not affect gameplay and does not generate new content for players. The game also contains textures which were upscaled using AI, but were originally human-authored. Guardrails Because the game does not include any generative systems during runtime, no special guardrails are required. Players cannot trigger or create AI-generated output of any kind.
This is a handcrafted project developed entirely by a solo creator. AI tools were used for proofreading and English translation. Some specific images were conceptualized with the assistance of AI and later manually refined. Additionally, seven background music tracks were created using AI-assisted composition tools. All content is properly licensed and cleared for commercial use.
In Dusty Secrets, we use the OpenAI-powered ChatGPT service to create immersive and dynamic interactions with Non-Player Characters (NPCs). This AI technology enables NPCs to respond intelligently to player inputs, generating unique and contextually relevant dialogues that enhance the gameplay experience. Please note that player inputs are processed by this third-party service to produce these dynamic responses. This integration ensures that every interaction feels personalized and contributes to the overall narrative and engagement of the game.

On the marketing side we only use it visually, we don't use AI in the game
We are using AI generated images for our store page materials.
This game utilizes artificial intelligence (AI) technology during its development process. In accordance with the latest policies of the Steam platform We hereby disclose the AI-generated content visible to players in the game as follows: This game includes the following AI-generated content that was pre-generated during the development stage and released alongside the game installation package: Art/Visual Assets: Primarily encompassing the main UI framework, including virtual window structures, built-in terminal interfaces, built-in web tools, and various UI views and graphics. Audio assets: Background music and sound effects. Text asset: It primarily relies on the already completed written plot content, using AI to assist in standardizing the plot description, enriching the emotional coloring of the plot, and enhancing the rationality of the plot. We promise that the pre-generated AI content mentioned above does not contain any known copyright-infringing materials, and we have taken necessary measures to ensure its compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and platform content guidelines.
The game uses very simple artificial intelligence and on some occasions, an algorithm randomly draws hints to help you progress through the game, the soundtrack varies depending on the scenarios. All characters and images were generated by artificial intelligence and are completely fictitious.
AI is only used for 4 images.
As a solo dev with little artistic skills, AI was used to template some images, UI elements and suchlike. AI was also used to assist in code checking and best practice scenarios.
In our game, AI is used to create and enhance in-game character designs

Declaration of AI-Generated Content for Steam Review Dear Steam Review Team, I would like to clarify the use of AI-generated content in my game, Espectro: A Batalha da Mente. Some assets, including characters, images, and audio, were created using AI tools such as ChatGPT and Bing Image Creator. However, all content is 100% original, based on my own story and characters, which I have been developing for over 10 years. I confirm that: All characters, storylines, and concepts belong to me. AI was only used as a tool to assist in visual and textual representation. The AI-generated assets do not infringe on any existing copyrights or intellectual property, as they were not based on any pre-existing works from other companies or creators. The AI tools used (ChatGPT and Bing) allow commercial use, and their generated content does not violate any rights. No real-time AI generation occurs within the game; all content was pre-rendered before submission. I assure you that my game complies with Steam’s content policies, and I am happy to provide any additional information if necessary. Thank you for your time and consideration. Best regards, Bruno Mizael Lima da Silva Email: mizaelalguem@gmail.com Game Title: Espectro: A Batalha da Mente

WE USED AI TO TRANSLATE TO ENGLISH
The game contains character and landscape illustrations generated by AI.
Story board panels use pre rendered comic panels for narrating the story in a better way.
We used AI to generate Voices and for Music for our Game.
This video game uses AI-generated images.
The in-game images were generated using AI and meticulously reviewed and approved by our in-house art team to ensure a diverse, immersive experience that fits the crime scene context and aligns with the game's graphic style. No images are generated during gameplay. Additionally, the assistant that accompanies the player at the crime scene sometimes intervenes using artificial intelligence to analyze the scene in real time, enhancing the realism of both the crime scenes and the overall gaming experience. Thanks to AI integration, all suspects are brought to life in a vivid and believable manner, enabling players to conduct detailed interrogations and determine who is innocent or guilty when the interrogation is executed correctly.
*Some background images and certain minor character images were initially created using AI-generated images and then modified and refined by humans. *Some of the music includes elements generated by AI. *AI translation was used for the English and Chinese translations. *All Japanese character voices were generated using AI voice synthesis.
We used AI to generate pre-rendered images for the in-game paintings, as well as the opening and ending cutscenes.
AI like ChatGPT is used to check edit dialog and UI texts because English is my second language. Let me know if I made mistakes anyway.
graphical elements, movie posters etc. Some songs in the radio are AI-generated.
It was applied in the creation of some meshes/3D models for specific characters or objects.
We used AI to generate textures when painting images for the library. The gameplay screenshots do not contain generative content. The game itself, its code and assets do not contain generated content.

Optional voiceovers, localization, and minor 2D elements. Note: All core creative content—story, game & level design, original music, sounds, vfx, and 3D assets—WAS MADE by PROFESSIONAL HUMAN ARTISTS, whose work remains ESSENTIAL and irreplaceable in bringing any video game to life. Also, professional ITALIAN dub added to the game!
Some artworks and the voice of the “chief” character were generated using AI.
游戏内部分图片使用AI生产后由人工修图转绘。
The video content of the game is created by the creator after creating storyboards, character settings, scene settings, and story content settings, through 3D modeling and animation production, and then using AI for style conversion, and further post production synthesis and rendering by the creators. Music, dubbing, and other elements are all created by creators with the assistance of artificial intelligence and processed by post production personnel.
This game features open dialog, where players can talk freely with NPCs. The dialog for NPCs is prewritten in book-length stories per character - a language model is used to interpolate between these prewritten statements, and to smoothly and grammatically map prewritten text into the appropriate place in conversations.
Voiceovers and in-game music are partially created by generative AI
The character voices used in the game were generated by artificial intelligence.
For the development of The Broken Mirror (Xuru Engine Edition), we have integrated advanced generative AI workflows to enhance the atmospheric Noir experience. Environment & Visual Arts: Environmental assets and backgrounds have been conceptualized and generated using AI, then manually refined and stylized in high-contrast black and white to achieve a unique 'graphic novel' aesthetic. Audio Experience: Soundtrack and atmospheric sound effects were developed with AI assistance to create a deep, immersive psychological thriller mood. Human Oversight: All AI-assisted content has been curated, edited, and directed by our lead developer. The core narrative, character arcs, complex puzzle design, and final assembly are 100% original human creations, ensuring a cohesive and high-quality artistic vision.
The game is entirely made by one person. Not having talent in all areas, I used AI to create graphics, sounds and music.
AI tools were used to generate select artwork, including concept images, a few decorative assets, and a few censored fictional photographs as some Voicelines and Screams. Some of these depict intentionally exaggerated or eccentric characters that would have been impractical—or impossible—to stage with real models. All AI-generated assets were manually reviewed and edited before inclusion. No AI content is generated dynamically during gameplay.
Scene backgrounds, partially used for main characters reference and brainstorming.
Generative AI was used to create some Steam Store and Steam Library images.
