Public Steam disclosure research 25,380 disclosures tracked
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across games, and follow recorded changes. This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to statements published on individual store pages.
Code help, debugging and other development work.
Capsule art, trailers and promotional material.
Pre-made art, audio, writing and other game assets.
Interactive or runtime AI features disclosed by the developer.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam. Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
Artificial intelligence was used to pre-generate texts about objects (e.g. dinosaurs), assist in building the shop page, and create a few AI-generated images in the game.
Real-Time Generation: All content is created dynamically during gameplay. It is not a copy of existing works, but rather a spontaneous reaction to player actions—similar to improvisation.
We use AI generated images as an early starting point for some promotional key art and some in game lore portrait images. These images are then edited, retouched, and finalized by a human. No AI is used to live generate content, code, or text during gameplay.
The cover images of this game were designed and created thanks to artificial intelligence.
Fartal Error is developed by a very small independent studio. Due to limited resources, we occasionally rely on generative AI tools for specific visual elements, such as some in-game illustrations, assets and marketing materials. These tools are used thoughtfully and selectively, always under human direction, to preserve a cohesive artistic vision. We value transparency, and we encourage players to consider this information when deciding whether the game is right for them.
AI is used to create game icon
The voiceovers featured in the game were generated using AI technology provided by ElevenLabs. Some of the visual assets were created with the assistance of ImagineArt AI.
AI tools were utilized to generate character voice lines and audio dialogues, bringing more depth and realism to in-game interactions. Additionally, AI-generated artwork was used to create the various paintings featured throughout the game, helping us achieve a unique and immersive visual style.
The game uses local, offline LLMs (meaning no data ever leaves your computer and nothing is used in training) for controlling and adapting the behavior of the main enemy in the game.
Some images are made using AI.
AI used to create some marketing materials. 1 man dev team so used AI to go from concept sketch to digital assets.
Some of the game's promotional visuals were created using artificial intelligence support. The AI was provided with information about the game's concept, style, and cultural background, allowing it to generate completely original visuals that belong to us. Artificial intelligence was used as a supportive tool in the visual design process.
Some elements of this game, including concept art, textures, audio design, and marketing materials, were created using generative AI tools. All AI-generated content was used in a curated, static form and does not include real-time generation or player-interactive AI systems.
We utilized AI for creating the spell/skill cards images as well as the loading screen and main menu graphical art.
There is one soundtrack option for our own made (instrumental) songs and there are optional music styles you can unlock, these are all made using ai (including singing with funny mythic skijumping songs). Some 3d environment parts were made using ai. The portraits of the sponsors and trainers were made with ai. We do not have or use any AI Live / Online features, we only used it to help us to produce content parts that we control and improve before adding it to our game.
AI generates maps and illustrations, in the future I would prefer to hire real artists
The game uses pre-generated voice lines for the boss character
AI was used to make the artwork for this game as well as the sounds and some 3D objects.
2D art assets
I used AI to generate promotional images for the Steam page and to upscale several in-game textures used within the game.
We use AI to generate Voice Over.
Some of the artwork featured in the game—such as paintings and wall decorations, was created using AI-generated imagery.
Generative AI may be used in marketing materials and store page, but not in game content.
This game is a project created through a solo development process. Artificial intelligence technology has been utilized in certain elements, such as voice acting and marketing visuals. However, the coding, mechanics, and other content within the game have been designed and developed entirely through traditional methods, manually. Artificial intelligence has been used solely as an assisting tool for creating specific visual and sound elements. During the development process, every detail has been carefully focused on in order to provide players with the best experience. The game has been shaped with a creative perspective and personal effort.
Our game only used AI to generate the 3D models you see in the jumpscares.
Steam library, capsules and images
We use AI only for research and text editing purposes.
For the visuals of our game’s store page, we utilized generative artificial intelligence to create some of the content. However, all of these visuals have been personally edited and refined by me using Photoshop and other editing software. The AI-generated content only served as a basic framework, and all designs, color adjustments, compositions, and final touches have been carefully reviewed and adjusted by me. Additionally, I have ensured that the created visuals do not infringe on any existing copyrights, and I guarantee their compliance with legal standards. If there are any issues with missing credits or references for certain sounds, visuals, or elements, I will promptly correct them and provide proper attribution where necessary.
AI assistance is used sparingly.
Some Scenes include portions of AI redered images. AI used for animated Talking images and voice. Store page marketing uses AI Images.
IA only used for the placeholder marketing assets.
Our team uses generative AI tools to help develop some in game assets.
Developer's Note: I used AI assistance to translate this store page into multiple languages to make it more accessible to players around the world. If you spot any strange wording or errors, feel free to let me know!
In our game, you’ll need to interact with customers, whose responses are generated by AI. The AI is designed to assume a specific persona to deliver the most realistic simulation of customer interactions.
Game logo and menu image made with ai tool
Background, Icon
All of the game models and image assets were initially generated using the latest generation of AI technologies, then heavily modified and polished to meet high-quality visual standards and ensure consistency with the game's art style.
Some card and background images contain AI-generated content. All AI-generated images have been edited before being incorporated. There is no AI content generated in real-time.
This game uses Poedit Pro to translate text into different languages.
Some images like the demon's face, the distortions it places on the world and the ELECTRONICS?!? pamphlet were generated with AI and edited afterwards.
AI was used to generate some images during development, but all final in-game assets were manually refined. No AI-generated content is dynamically created during gameplay
AI is used as an assistant in writing code and as a text editor. A little in sound generation
Music generated with Suno. Icons generated with KREA. Some 3D Models created with Tripo3D.
"My game utilizes artificial intelligence for generating speech using text-to-speech (TTS) technology. The voice recordings in the game are created by an AI model that synthesizes human-like voice from written text. This allows for dynamic and customizable voiceovers in various parts of the game."
We used AI just to make 2D textures or pictures. (like the paint hanging in the wall)
Used for creating the game banner
We use AI to generate image-only loading screens, backgrounds, maps, characters, store pages, and community resources and marketing materials.
AI in cutscenes
