Where do games disclose AI use?
Search developers’ Steam disclosures, compare classified AI use across
games, and follow recorded changes.
This index adds cross-game classifications and statistics to
statements published on individual store pages.
Groups reflect automatic analysis of public disclosures; mature records are excluded. These counts do not measure AI use across all of Steam.
Missing or unclear statements cannot establish whether a game uses AI.
Our art director used AI to help him create key art, like the Presidential portraits and Oval Office screen. He combines hand painting and uses the Generative Fill feature in Adobe Photoshop. Detailed blog post here: https://blog.mrpresidentgame.com/p/creating-art-for-mr-president
In New World Order - Anarchy Collapsed, AI is used to generate pre-rendered design assets that include country images, building designs, army units, and other visual elements crucial to creating a rich and diverse game world. These AI-generated assets help add variety to the visuals, ensuring each faction and territory feels unique within the game's post-apocalyptic setting.
All AI-generated content is produced during development and reviewed to fit the game’s artistic style and strategic gameplay. AI is not used to generate content or code dynamically during gameplay. Instead, the pre-rendered assets contribute to the overall experience by enhancing the diversity and depth of the game’s world without real-time AI intervention.
Our team utilizes various AI tools and techniques in our development pipeline to create minor 2D visual elements and some event-based cinematic content. These methods help us prototype certain non-core assets during our creative process.
ChessFinity uses AI-generated content minimally, primarily for image creation and touch-ups in some of our visual assets. All AI-generated images are based on original designs and concepts created by our team. No live AI content generation or dynamic AI use occurs during gameplay
Initial concept art was generated using AI tools, followed by manual adjustments and modifications by artists. The final artwork combines AI-generated base designs with human-made artistic revisions.
During the game development process, we utilized a combination of program-based and artificial intelligence tools to assist in content creation, including generating partial character illustrations and scene images. After the AI-generated content is created, the images serve as references and are subsequently modified by graphic designers to ensure they align with the overall world-building and aesthetics of the game.
The game features AI-generated sound effects. To provide players with so many languages, we used AI for localization. We'll do everything we can to ensure better translation quality in the full version. Additionally, we used artificial intelligence to create some graphics like wallpapers, steam cards and other smaller graphics.
We harness generative artificial intelligence to deepen the immersive experience of this sci-fi universe, set 4970 years in a parallel future. Our AI enhances the creative process by generating dynamic text that players directly engage with, crafting unique narratives, dialogues, and event descriptions tailored to the game’s original lore.
As you embody a Frame—trapped in a 24-hour mind-swap loop via the HyperNet—AI-generated text brings the galaxy to life, shaping interactions with factions like The Guild (Anu'Aki), Reapers Swarm, or the Vodah Collective, and driving the mystery of your hijacked consciousness.
We ensure all AI-generated text, including narrative logs, faction communications, and in-game events, is wholly original and designed specifically for the Nexus Wars universe. Our AI operates under strict guidelines to avoid any copyrighted or trademarked material, adhering to the highest standards of creativity and legality, so every story and interaction feels authentic to this unique IP.
Additionally, we utilize pre-generated AI images in-game and in Store Page assets to visually depict the Nexus Wars universe, an original IP based on the novel set in this galaxy. These AI-generated images are crafted to represent the lore and aesthetic of this world, ensuring they align with the creative vision of the universe 5000 years into the future.
We also employ AI animation to enrich the gameplay experience, further immersing players in the world and its lore. These AI-generated animations and images serve as initial drafts or placeholders during development.
As the game evolves, we may replace them with higher-quality renditions if necessary—though if the AI-generated quality proves indistinguishable from the highest content standards, they will remain to deliver an exceptional experience for players.
This AI-generated text, imagery, and animation enriches your journey, immersing you in a galaxy of peril and wonder—from the neon grit of Cyberpunk-inspired hubs to the cosmic dread of Event Horizon-like threats.
The GAME MASTER AI crafts these textual and visual experiences in real-time, ensuring that every choice, from surviving AruKai attacks to navigating Rohar Empire intrigue, enhances the storytelling and gameplay while staying true to the Nexus Wars universe.
I am proud of the fact that everything you see and hear in the game is made by humans. Work by talented artists and human creativity created all the assets, soundtracks and story elements you experience in the game. For full transparency I do want to disclose that Language Models were used for assisting while coding and for translating the game in the wide number of languages using DeepL. However through community effort we continuously refine these translations to be the most fitting they can be.
In "Don't Click in The Dark," we utilize AI-generated graphics as a foundation for our creative process. The AI helps generate base images, which we then use as inspiration to create detailed pixel art. These AI-generated visuals serve as a starting point, allowing our artists to craft unique, atmospheric environments and characters. Additionally, we animate these pixel art assets.
ELHKIA is a new type of political simulation game where the pledges entered directly into the prompt by users are evaluated using LLM(Large Language Models). The evaluation result is then linked to the rise or decrease in popularity of a candidate.
The majority of the game's pixel art assets (approx. 80%) are hand-drawn. Generative AI tools were used to assist in creating certain background elements, icons, and character variations. Specifically, all illustrative images used for in-game 'events' and case files are AI-generated. Additionally, approximately 90% of the game's music tracks were generated using AI tools. All AI-generated assets, including the music, have been manually reviewed, retouched, and edited by the developer to ensure they fit the game's consistent artistic style and quality standards.
An AI-assisted voice-over was included in the game's Early trailer. Most of the questions in the game were generated by artificial intelligence and translated into 8 different languages.
Our Policy for AI Use
Even if, and disclose from time to time that, we use AI in some of our products, it never means that our product consists of AI-generated content, which is simply impossible but may be presumed by some people. We continue our due diligence and necessary efforts to come up with the best content.
AI is a field that we keep track of and welcome curiously and excitedly. It is something not the world gives us but what we get from the world according to our requirements.
However,
We always consider the rights of commercial and ethical use of AI. Therefore, we subscribe to their content, pay their respective fee, and keep their receipts/licenses.
How may we use AI?
We may use outsourced AI in a number of different ways in addition to our own in-game AI mechanics, as it gives us uniqueness and originality as we like, and as long as its content is compliant with our above policy:
Sound files: We have a large collection of audio clips we have purchased and keep purchasing. We also have the means to make our own sound files. Sometimes we may also use AI-made sounds to make audio clips as well if we fail to find what we are looking for in our archive.
Graphics: We may use AI for some of our graphical assets. We have various means like software with which we can create characters, particularly our animated characters in the trailers and cutscenes, which are our own unique designs. We may use AI in this particular game in relation to the environment and some of the ancillary icons, finishings, and corrections.
Ideas: We may chat with AI about whether an idea is suitable for the current genre we are working on. However, we plan to discontinue this use of AI as it lacks originality. For example, when we asked for the names of two female characters for a fantasy game, AI suggested “Anya and Ayleen.” They are obviously names used before and we needed to change the names of our two characters.
The above use of our AI may naturally appear on our store page as we include fragments from our game to introduce and promote it.
This policy may be subject to change depending on the developments, ethical considerations, and circumstances regarding the use of AI in the future.
During development process, we may use procedural and AI-based tools to assist with art content creation. In all such cases, the final product reflects the creativity and expression of our own development team.
We prioritize the most ethical AI sources as possible.
